Thank you for another great video. I passed the OA today and was really worried going into this class. The PA and the OA were similar but some of the OA questions were worded in a way that made me second guess myself. It’s weird that they provide a text book they say not to use, why not find a better one😂 but the videos were clear.

man It seems I hit a brick wall on Lesson 27 in this course. The material is irrelevant to the learning assessment, and doesn't even provide any info on the formula calculations that you will have to do in the leaning assessment. Usually its not this bad, but this time it seemed way too much to me. Even the explanations in the learning assessment don't make sense and lack details. I can't make any connections or sense of the steps in there either

I spend a lot of time in the school so I always act professionally with everyone I interact with because I always want to appear with my best foot forward. I also imagine in an interview that I would let them know that being a volunteer is what inspired me to pursue further education and certification to be able to be a part of the environment in a professional manner.

WGU is a great tool to help you get along professionally but my advice for interviews is this: Know yourself. Know what skills and experiences you have to bring to the table with new employers. They want to know who they’re hiring and what situations you’ll help them navigate. I think it’s important to really reflect on the courses you took and how they’re applicable to jobs you’re applying to.

If you are passionate about environmentalism, safety work, Mental health, Music, you should include these to showcase you are the ideal candidate for this company, show that you go above an beyond your role and engage with other departments to improve business strategies. You aren't just filling a role, they are looking for growth and success.

For me, it was a little difficult to understand " tell me about yourself" Until I learned they do not want to know that I am a Beyonce fanatic but what interchangeable skills I have that can be used in a work environment like attention to detail, goal-oriented and etc. Good Luck in your WGU journey

I just recently enrolled at WGU and so far my experience has been amazing. They are always so eager to help and have answers to all questions presented to them. When I get to the point of needing to start interviewing for a job I believe that the best advice I can give is being yourself. Interviewers can tell if you aren't yourself and that can be the make and break decision for getting the job. Another piece of advice is making sure that you are confident in your answers. Interviewing can be nerve racking, but you know what you're talking about and show them that you do!

There were several things in there that were small but i feel make a big difference in interviews that are always good to keep in mind like for instance even if a job is a stepping stone for you not making it seem like that so your not over looked. Practice makes perfect and interviews are always stressful and difficult but practicing over and over always helps me. I do like that with WGU I am able to go into the interview with all these certifications because I very much believe that will be a huge advantage in the interview process being able to inform your potential employer of all the certifications you already have. Thank you for the video some good advice in there for interviews.

The last two questions are incredibly common, but I have never heard the first one. Though I guess it could be reworded as "tell me about a time you've had to deal with a difficult customer." In my experience, being honest while adding some "spice" to an otherwise typical story helps when answering those "tell me about a time..." questions. What I mean is making working at a coffee shop, for example, sound professional. Customers are now clients; you can keep the fast-paced environment because that's useful. Counted registers? That's money handling. A lot of coffee drinks require attention to detail (there is a difference between a latte, a macchiato, a cappuccino, and a mocha). It may seem mundane, but employers love those skills.

Amazing video! One piece of advice I'd like to share is to "under promise and overdeliver." A silly example to clarify what I mean by this is, "I can play Vivaldi's Summer" but you only play the easy part (over promise and under deliver) vs. "I can play a little bit of Vivaldi's Summer" but playing some of the harder parts as well (under promise and over deliver.)

I have yet to start my job search but planning to after I finish student teaching and graduate. But my mine advice would be to just prepare for common questions and know the basics of the position/job you're interviewing for.

Thank you for another great video. Practice and revising are going to be important steps for me. I cannot go in and just wing it! WGU is helping me gain the knowledge I need, I need to make sure I can show that I have it.

Thank you for sharing your experience . I had a similar experience with Wgu. Since I got my degree , and I got more interviews and job offers than before. Also , the job offers are getting better with higher pay. I am grateful for my experience with Wgu

This is great advice. Interviewing for jobs is not something I'm looking forward to. When answering questions about previous conflicts, I've always heard that it is a good point to make that you "put yourself in the others shoes" before proceeding.

Thank you! It definitely can be daunting but once you get it down you’ll have a lot of confidence going in 🙏🏽🦾
