The SKF MTRX bearings: the new standard in bearing technology
The Monowalker fatmate hiking cart will run on the best available ball-bearing technology. The special features of these new ball-bearings: A polymer material is molded into the free space of the bearing, forming a narrow gap around the rolling elements and raceways, enabling the bearing to rotate freely. The polymer matrix has a porous structure, with millions of micro-pores, that hold the lubricating oil retained by surface tension. In operation, oil is released from the material into the narrow gaps between it and the bearing components, thus providing effective minimum quantity lubrication.
Bearings filled with Oil are lubricated for the life of the bearing and contain two to four times more oil than bearings using a conventional grease fill. Solid Oil cannot be washed out and virtually fills all the free space, thus limiting the amount of dirt and contamination that can enter the bearing. What you have is a deer carrier. $75 on Amazon. And carries 500 pounds . 😂. Not a new idea . Been around for a long long time . At least in America.

Ok this 8yrs old. I'm a pianist who needs to be able to walk on to the Ferry then walk up to 20 blocks with my gear the problem is the length of an 88key keyboard. It's too long (I think) for the contraption shown.

When you build it like this, with weitght only in front of the wheel, you get a heavy load on your hips.

Nos encanta mucho este producto, somos una familia chileno argentina ( con doble nacionalidad alemana y austriaca ) con algunas aventuras caminando largas distancias con nuestro hijo de 5 años . 2018 hicimos el Camino De Santiago francés desde Francia 825 kms y ahora 1200 Kms caminando Austria de este a oeste. Yes SKF is an industry leader bearing supplier! We have them on our Light Rail Trains here in Seattle. They are used all over the world for rolling stock "trains", vehicles and demanding industry applications. I only post this for people that are not industry focused and have no idea who SKF is. its $1000. There are a lot more affordable options. You can get get a bike trailer for half the price which can also be used for hiking. or you can just use a regular shopping trolly and attach a waste belt if you don't plan to carry over 40 pounds, but dont expect it to last on rugged terrain. Monotrailer is for hardcore hikers who have the money. It's the big rig of hiking trailers.
Get the price below $1,000 USD (and not just $999.99) and I’m there. Until then, It’s hard to justify. Like some else has already said, this should t cost more than a good entry level Trek mountain bike.

I have one of earlier models and it’s fantastic,. I’m currently training for a 5500km hike along the #BNT where I’ll be using the #monowalker, crossing creeks, rivers, steep hills. My pack weighs around the 50kg and it’s a breeze to walk with.

ABSURD price!!!! Such a piece of equipment should cost around the same as a decent mountain bike! Im talking $200 - $400 MAXIMUM. This thing is damn near $2000 BEFORE shipping and handling! I don't care how much canadian prepper tries to justify that price, it may not be an issue for him, but the average person cant afford to drop that much money at the drop of a hat! Hope other companies come along with a design just as strong and bomb proof at more affordable prices. Until then ill make my own!

The product is undoubtedly the best the market offers, but the price (2400 euros Monowalker with basic accessories) is not proportionate either to the technology of the product or to the materials used, so yes, the quality is paid for, but in any case the price is absolutely excessive.

There are videos of how to DIY a hiking trailer, but that takes some time and won’t be quite as good. If people get paid a living wage to make them….and they are made well, they aren’t going to be super cheap. You can likely rent one at a backpack/camping store, just like you can rent a backpack.
Kai, Canadian Pepper is worried about the tire. It looks very offroadish, whats to worry? Monowalker has a tool kit why not add some spare parts. I wish you would allow early purchasing , this will work for ELK hunting here in Wyoming. Maybe next year. Is a ski available for the unit? I think in the pulk mode with HOK ski's a person could go far in a day,very comfortably. I will try myself when my monowalker is here. Thank you for sharing and making access to the back country with some more gear we old people need.
