This is such a valuable advice. Can't thank you more. I am planning a gap year and I think I should take it cuz I actually wanna do lotta things and stuff that requires 100% priority and dedication. Also in the meantime, I can benefit from self reflection and try out as many things in life as possible which will eventually give me massive clarity and momentum for the future

Hey January 15th 2024 is the deadline for university applications and i have appointment exactly the same date with my consolor to pay for application. My question is that are they still gonna accept the form in 15th January ?
what was the question
“You want to determine if a new material created for solar panels increases the amount of energy that can be captured. You have acquired 15 panels of different sizes manufactured with different materials including the new material. You decide to set up an experiment to solve this problem. What do you think are the 3 most important variables to address in your experience? How would you incorporate those variables in your experiment?”

When should one expect a video interview after application
You should receive an email from the universities you applied to, requesting you to set up your account to submit additional information, including the supplementary application. Most universities use a program called Kira Talent, so you'll get a separate email from them asking you to go through their system. If you're a student of ours, we have a comprehensive workshop coming up of what to expect. If you're not, send us a DM on Insta and we'll try to snag you a spot.

This video is very informational. Thank you for uploading. I had a question, I'm a graduate of 2023 and have taken a gap year. I was wondering how to apply from OUAC as a gap year student. I contacted my High school their information wasn't helpful. Can you give me a little bit of guidance, please? Thank you!
You can just create your account and apply directly. You'll either have to request from your old guidance counsellor to transmit your grades to OUAC or upload your transcripts yourself.

Is it okay if it sounds like we're reading off a script?
No. And here's why: the school is evaluating your verbal communication skills and ability to think clearly. If you're reading off a script, it tells them you cannot do that. Anyone can read off a script. Not everyone can communicate coherently and think clearly. Please avoid this, to our knowledge it'll result in a 0 for most programs.

For anyone watching this video for 2024 admissions I have some comments since I just went through the process for 2023 admissions and got in for mech eng. The example in this video is really good and much better than what you need realisticly. The questions in the waterloo interview are much easier than McMaster and UofT. They are mostly about yourself and the university/program. I would recomend doing your AIF first. I wore a t-shirt and shorts and got in so what you wear isnt very important. I also had an average ajustment factor with my average in the high 90s. Good luck to everyone applying for next year!
