This has to be one of the most interesting sounds I've ever heard in a chip tune. The bending high tones over the grungy bass line in the intro got my attention right away. And then that high-pitched sound on the 1 of every other measure in some sections, that I can only describe as the Half-Life crowbar sound, is such an interesting rhythmic layer.

Nice tune! I specifically had a thought about 4:40. I feel like the stage would be part of a game that has you mixing space shmup segments with platformer sections, think like Rendering Ranger R2. It would begin here with you approaching this station in the Starfighter, having to fight through waves of what _were_ generic ally ships up to this point, and as you approach the station you have to dodge fire from some kind of tracking cannons. It's easy to dodge, until you get to the end of the stage at 6:48, when your fighter is hit by an unavoidable shot. I'd imagine at that point, everything that'd seem to come from a normal case of you getting shot down would happen. Fade back in, the view of the player is closer to the fighter, and then a separate pseudo-checklist starts up having to do with your character's ground suit. Your fighter crash lands in the docking bay, and your character bursts out of the cabin right on cue at 7:12 and take your assault into the interior of the station in platformer mode for the remainder of the game.

a small word of advice, if you are going below A-0, you should use a channel other than the two squares from the 2a03, such as one of the VRC6 square channels. this will allow the bass to hit the notes you had actually written. good stuff!
