THANK YOU and I have an idea that chara doesn't ERASE the world but our connection to it during the fight with sans sans say timelines starts and stops with resets meaning each time she "erases" the world she just hops us over to the next timeline because I theories that Chara wants to the monsters to not suffer any longer then they already did thus they send us to another timeline so we don't torment them by killing them again and again and she doesn't say this because..... exposing your plan to stop someone isn't really a smart thing and I think Chara has the IQ for such a plan they have been there for decades and have experienced countless resets they're actual age could be eons old plus they did form the plan with asriel by themself anyways that is my thoughts THANK you for clearing this up

aaaactually!!! as a nerd, you can have a neutral route with the same LOVE as a genocide route, which tells us its not LOVE that makes chara appear, but adherence to the genocide route. Since LOVE doesn't change and chara is not 'getting stronger' or being influenced by the run, that tells us they are merely deciding whether the player/frisk is a suitable 'partner' before they commit to showing themself and guiding the player. You cant do genocide without chara, and a normal player wouldnt be able to complete a genocide without a tutorial if chara wasnt there. They are a partner, and integral to genocide. they even complain and call you a 'failure' if you dont kill the right enemies. They also say "since when were you the one in control" .. its pretty clear cut

Back in 2020 - 2022 I was obsessed with Undertale- i'd roleplay on scratch during the summers and even had a little community going, I had like ~400 followers. I was mainly obsessed with the AUs, but one of the main things I'd say was that Chara was good. One of the first videos that got me into Undertale was Judgement Boy's video about how Chara WASN'T the villain, and it made sense to me, so I stuck to that plot point. Around 99% of the time people would tell me off and say that Chara was pure evil. Happy to see another video defending Chara.

If chara became corrupt because of us you must immediately admit that chara cant be the narrator. Not much of the lines in genocide change for pacifist besides the ones we know are for sure chara.

Nope, theres no reason to believe chara woke up from your determination. They say that your "power" awakaned them, later I believe chara defines this power as the stats, LV, ATK, gold, DF.

There is genuinely no reason to believe that chara would want to free monster kind, charas hatred of humanity plus the fact that they were the one who attacked gives us reason to believe chara wanted to go up there to kill humans.

Off to an amazing start. a half assed argument for chara being the narrator. You do realize that chara being the narrator for a few lines in genocide does not automatically need to imply they are "the narrator", aside from the obvious differences in the way they speak(narrator is detailed, has a dry sense of humor, chara is more terse saying only what needs to be said, and unless its grammatically incorrect chara never uses contractions unless theyre grammatically incorrect), and chara supposedly hating humans while helping some random human, there is the fact that the narrator knows things that would be impossible for chara to know, such ad catty amd brattys exact spot as well as how they speak in their absence on a genocide route, where mettaton ex's weak spot is, despite this being the first premiere, alphys' invention being a cube folded into a bed and much more. More can be said of course, but all this just points out how inconsistent chara being the narrator would be.

What a slog of an intro, and bs about both the majority of the fanbase and the true arguments chara offenders bring out, oh boy Im sure this is gonna be packed with brilliant arguments, unlike you know, every single chara defense Ive seen.

I definitely understand that perspective. It's clear based on in-game dialogue that Chara was messed up or at least flawed, but certainly not a genocidal maniac. But the Chara we meet at the end of the Genocide Route? Definitely evil. No soul just like Flowey, super powerful, and corrupted by the player's actions. Very much a "I learned it from watching you" kind of deal.

Let's see... the demon who literally says that they represents Level of Violence, Extermination Points, etc. That the purpose of their reincarnation is the power. The same who use the pronouns "us" ("Together, we eradicated the enemy and become strong", "There is nothing left for us here. Let us erase this pointless world, and move on to the next") when we do the genocide route. The same who tried to use poison on Asgore and laugh about it, and then used it on themselves so Asriel absorbs their soul and after of that, go to the surface to exterminate all the humanity (with Chara on the control, because both were with separate control). And with a lot of evidence that Chara wasn't the best person ever (and Asriel saying that Frisk is the type of friend that he really wished to had at the end of the pacifist route)... One argument, that CHARA is not KRIS is that well KRIS is well a quiet person wow CHARA is talkative talkative enough to be a narrator

How I see Chara: the most morally grey character ever Ib my pov, Chara hates humanity just as much as they love monsters (The dreemurrs, specifically). I believe Chara's plan was like: "If I die, I can free the monsters AND destroy humanity... Yep, time to eat flowers.". Chara is a sadisc (The kind of person who laughs when someone falls in public), manipulative and with a concerning sense of humor child (ButtsPie). They've got the "Dark Empathy" trait. They can feel empathy, but uses it for manipulation and self-advantage, but they also care about who they think is good. In genocide, you basically feed Chara's hate for humanity along with their sadism and manipulation, in pacifist, you feed their love for monsters and for the Dreemurrs... And probably their concerning sense of humor too, conaidering the sheer amount of puns and ButtsPies.
