Chara is kind of attached to Frisk's soul. The more darkness and evil in Frisk's heart, the more evil Chara picks up from them.

Yeah I think his death is a bit of a red herring. My take is that taking damage in the dark world progressively makes you more tired, and dying in a dark world makes you fall asleep potentially forever, symbolic of the roaring. Think about it, "The Darkners will turn to stone, and the Lightners will be left to fend for themselves.", if Berdly is still frozen by the time that light returns to the computer lab, has The Roaring technically started? For him at least? It's interesting that the same Roaring prophecy was introduced in Ch2 as well as trapping Berdley in a dark world after sealing the fountain.

I think Chara appearing at the end of the genocide run was more so to represent a symbol of You, rather than the literal fallen human from all those years ago.

Another Charapologist. Look, regardless of the player's actions, Chara was not a good person and Asriel says that verbatim at the end of true pacifist. Moreover, Chara was emotionally manipulative towards Asriel, as we saw in the home movies in the true lab, they would bully Asriel into following their schemes, showed sociopathic disregard toward hurting others, and they fully planned on genociding humanity. Asriel directly stated when they absorbed Chara's soul, that Chara was trying to make them kill everyone in the human village. Not just stop attacking him, but full stop kill them. People call Chara a villain because they literally are a villain. When you do the genocide route, all you're doing is helping them achieve far greater power to become an even more dangerous sociopath. After that, you are locked into a deal with the devil. If you deny them, they straight up treat you like an abusive partner would.

The ONLY reason people blame Chara is because they're scared of taking accountability for their own actions

I feel like King and Queen made up for their fights being on the easier side with the battle gimmicks. It may be harder to see what I mean with King, however remember the battle box as weird as that sounds. For almost the entirety of chapter 1, the battle box stays completely the same. Just a square. Only time it “changes” is in the Jevil fight in the Final chaos/True Neo of chaos attack but I wouldn’t count that one since it just makes it go partly full screen. However in the King fight, the battle box is like, the entire gimmick of the fight. The box isn’t just a box anymore it’s an entire battle element. King swinging the thing up and down, chaining it in areas that make you have to look outside the box literally. While you could argue this isn’t true because some of his attacks don’t do this, I feel like the gimmick wasn’t only the main gimmick of the fight, rather it was to introduce the player to attacks such as these since the battle box changing is utilized some in chapter 2. This game was meant for people who played Undertale. Having an entirely new battle element that takes advantage of a new battle UI would cause some whiplash to the player if it just started suddenly being used on a random enemy. The fight wasn’t meant to be hard by design. It was supposed to subtly introduce the mechanic. Not to mention, even though the fight may be easy, the music paired with the atmosphere ALONG with the actively moving box creates an incredibly tense scene, especially in the homestretch of the fight where it gets incredibly fast. When it comes to queen, her attacks were harder, but were also meant to be more visually stimulative. You have to be paying active attention to where something’s are before hand, which while it isn’t new to you, it heavily expands on it. Not to mention, the queen fight was most likely easier due to the absolute personal pinnacle of the chapter, GIGA Queen. I don’t think I need to explain the gimmick of this one as it’s the entire (sick as hell) fight. However I do feel like it’s important to note that this could very well set stuff up for later chapters having a ‘2nd form’ per se in an entirely new battle format that can and WILL catch you off your feet. Along with your choices actually mattering for significant fights. Your thrash machine, for the intended way of playing the fight, can drastically change how things go. It further reiterates the normal routes path of how your choices DO matter. At least in some capacity. (Snow grave does this as-well but more narratively.) And as multiple commenters and Toby Fox himself have said, it’s the earlier chapters so there’s going to be a learning curve for sure! But King and Queen have purposes other than ‘Final boss of this chapter’, and they serve those purposes incredibly well in my opinion.

Isnt there a pillar type stricture in the boss room? So you can lure the close-range one behind there whete you cant be hit by projectiles. I dont remember ever having trouble with this boss without summons.
