S65-EVO Night Run : Preliminary GPS Accelerometer Data
Updates: S65-EVO High Duration Camshaft Program

We’re going back in time mid May for a night run.
This was post dyno tuning, and the first ever outing with the car to log 100-200 GPS accelerometer data.
As a primer, the stock V8 M3 clocks 10.9s. I didn’t know what to expect.
The first run was uphill, and hitting soft limiters. Meh - over 10s.
I ended up finding similar slope conditions to V10 runs for a proper A/B test.
We clocked a 9.24 […] short shifting it at 8,200 RPM to avoid limiters.
Overall, the car feels extremely potent above 6,000 over my previous stage 2 equivalent .
It feels wrong knowing we can shift the S85-EVO at its 8,500’s peak power. Interestingly, the V8 gets the jump on the 625 PS S85-EVO from 100-130 kph, showing the prowess of the DCT, its ratios and the lower chassis weight.
There’s a lot of potential that remains to be found in higher revs, and new gearing.
In upcoming entries to the S65-EVO series Build Journals, I will document the entire process, including dyno tuning and real world results.
ETA for launch of the S65-EVO Program is late Summer ’24.

S65-EVO: It's got chop*! / First Start Up

Unlike the S85-EVO, the S65-EVO has some chop on its first cold start with the high duration cams and valvetrain upgrades. This is on a standard stage 2 tune. With snow cleared up and roads are getting cleaned up, road tuning has begun for idle and partial load tuning. Dyno tuning will be later this Spring.
