Montana Regenerative Farmer
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 17 ก.ค. 2023
Sharing the knowledge to start your own sustainable farm & ranch.
Our goal is to share our successes and failures in regenerative ag as well as the day-to-day operations of our farm.
For younger generations to get into farming and ranching we cannot farm like the generations before us. We need to find ways to do more with less. We must be creative in our cropping and livestock systems, find unique ways to market our products, and we need to find ways to reduce our operating costs by operating and maintaining older equipment, reducing or eliminating synthetic inputs, and being more efficient in the use of our resources.
We're excited to explore the world of regenerative agriculture with you and for you to join our journey of starting a sustainable regenerative farming operation. Thanks for joining us!

Winterizing Our 3-point Sprayer
Winterizing our 3-point Sprayer before winter comes. You never know when that first hard freeze will come in Montana, could be as early as September so better to be safe than sorry.

What part of Montana? I’m from Northern Wyoming.
@@wyohunter6627 we are south central. South of the Yellowstone River in Yellowstone county.
@@MontanaRegenerativeFarmer not far, we are close to Buffalo Wyoming
@@wyohunter6627 not far at all. I picked up a parts tractor down there a few years ago.
@@MontanaRegenerativeFarmer oh nice, what did you get?
@@wyohunter6627 Oliver 1800 with a stuck motor. I needed the front axel parts to fix a white 2-105
Just throw some of our food on it there’s plenty biological matter in that.
@@cooper55ish definitely missing an ingredient or two to get the break down process going.
Ni e White tractor.
@@robertburey4704 thanks. We have 2 whites and one Oliver.
Fantastic!!!!
Those Toms can be pretty brutal to each other, watch yo'self too! Just saying- when one Tom has its head shoved down anothers neck its Mutual of Omaha in Real Time lol
@@SuperTinker41 haven’t had any big Toms in the yard so far.
Invite them to dinner
I’d rather have a ribeye!
Beautiful!!!!
@@SuperTinker41 thanks I’m happy with how it turned out.
My name is Su. How do you do? A special group of people will get it.
Good looking bull. Calf in April, ship in mid October before the snow flies?
@@nmelkhunter1 usually try to ship before the end of the year. Trying to be in sync with nature makes things a lot easier. Also try to keep and raise some for our own beef and some to sell.
@@MontanaRegenerativeFarmer Being in sync with nature is very well said. My uncle has a ranch near Corona, NM and decided one year to breed a dozen of his cows so they would calf in the fall since spring prices are usually higher. Notice I said ONE year. The calves did not gain weight the way spring calves do and it was not worth it. Thank goodness he bred the balance of his 165 mother cows on a normal cycle. Take care and best of luck.
@@nmelkhunter1 I like the idea of experimenting with just about anything just find a way to manage the risk. Sounds like he did it right!
He didn't mess with you or the gate did he. He just watched them come in ladies how you doing.? Smart enough to know what day it is got this routine down SMART ASSSSSSSSS !

How many cows per bull do you recommend?
@@LaryCharles depends on you landscape and pasture size. I would say typically 1 bull for every 20 cows is a good starting place.
I mean, who the hell breeds a Hereford bull to limousine cows that should tell you everything you need to know about this guy😂😂😂😂
What’s the deal with the city people always recording these stupid pools and posting them like if I wanted to see, I could just walk outside into the field to listen to the thoughts
