Gan Island, Maldives. Day 6 scuba diving Makandu corner with Reef Sharks Made with Clipchamp 2
Rapid descent due to surface currents, then a drift dive to Makandu Corner to see Reef Sharks and on the way to the surface stop we saw a big Napolean Wrasse.
A celebratory jump off the boat ended the day, with it also being my 200th dive earlier.
A huge thanks to Dive Otago Dunedin, Allways Dive & Diverland Gan for a bucket list trip that was had with such a fantastic group of people. :)

Fantastic dive to the bootom of the cave at 31 metres then back up along the reef where there was so much coral and fish life. Dive was topped off by seeing a beautiful Turtle on the reef at the end of the dive.

Fantastic dive on Day 5 of our trip with Dive Otago. The British Loyalty shipwreck rests at 33 meters on it's side in Addu Atoll. An oil tanker, it was constructed in Newcastle, UK, and played a crucial role during the colonial era, serving the British Royal Air Force until the late 1970s. Day 4 we dived Manta Point again and I didn't take my camera, but I got the highlights from the second dive at Villingili South reef. Day 5 we dived Guida lamagu (Shark shelf) and The British Loyalty wreck plus went for a snorkel with turtles. I will put the British Loyalty video up separately :)

Dive 1: British Loyalty Wreck, 1st attempt I had a Tank o-ring blowout so air shared & surfaced to boat with my buddy, changed tank and got straight back in for an awesome look around. Molikolu fara and Manta point. Didn't see any Mantas unfortunately but saw some reef sharks on the second dive but didn't get any video of them this time. Still a couple of fun dives with some awesome drift diving on the second dive and with a very surgy, bouncy safety stop.

28th and 29.12.2024 Very fishy in average visibility. Seahorses, triplefins and the usual nudibranch mating and laying eggs. Highlights of the two days diving (136mins total) were finding 5 of the very cryptic Pelagella species nudibranch on their host Botrylloides after seeing their eggs on them for quite a few weeks and being able to video them and the purple Nemertea worm on the move.

4 Pelagella species of nudibranch found on the host Botrylloides under Ōtākou Wharf this morning. All slightly different to each other ranging from 20mm to 30mm.

Lots of colourful sponges, ascidians and anenomes. Decorator crabs, Dendrodoris citrina and Doris wellingtonensis nudibranch, plus a lot of tiny 2 to 6mm juvenile Paradoris dubia nudibranch. (They are the tiny white things you can see on the dark blue sponge.)

Hi you must be talking about Queen Charlotte sounds not Milford Sound? The cruise ship was Mikhail Lermontov that went down near there, you can contact Go Dive Marlborough in Picton to dive the cruise ship or you can also contact them through Go Dive pacific here is the website godivepacific.nz/ Yes I have dived in Milford sound it was an awesome experience!
