Introduction to "Sports Night" Sept 10, 1991
Back then, me & my cat enjoyed watching the hilarious "I Love Lucy" show for years & it always keeps my cat's ears up like an owl🦉🦉 LOL ❤❤😸😸
Year?
Did they ever recover the crew?
Yes, about 6 weeks later.
Sad day
Back then, even as a kid, I felt that putting a teacher on the shuttle was a publicity stunt and it belittled the risks. They were pretending it was no different than hopping on a plane.
Space trips were getting to be routine then
When Lucy died, all of the queens in my neighborhood erected an impromptu memorial to her.
I saw somebody holding Pluto!
It's always the best that get taken from us too soon...
Lost all respect for her when i read in an article she would not give her time to people who had less than her and only gave respect to other stars like herself! 😡👎🏻
Moronic Donaldson blaming Reagan. It happened with you at ABC.
😢😢❤❤❤❤❤
Lucy , you got some splaining to do Too bad you don't have a brain .
I loved her til both of her kids say she was a horrible tyrant to both of them and Desi
Bureaucratic incompetence at its worst here.
Poor Lucy Ball, my condition to her family. Last time, I visited her dressing room trailer at the Universital Studios in Hollywood, CA in the 1970s.❤ 🌟 🌸
It was Lucy's decision as head of Desilu Studios to give the go to fund the pilots and episodes of the original Star Trek.
WHEN WILL WE LEARN, EARTH 🌎 IS HOME.STOP FUCKING AROUND.
I was admitted in the hospital when she passed. I loved Lucy so much my brother called me to see if I was ok
Sponsored by 7up
Sponsored by Pepsi. They couldn't get 7 up.
@@TVcommercials-extra-ms9tp That was the problem
And 7 Down
There will never be another person who can make you laugh,I love Lucy and I am sure she is in heaven resting peacefully.
I Love Lucy was aired on RPN 9 in the Philippines I think back in 1989 or 1990. But they didn't know Lucille Ball was dead when RPN 9 continued airing I Love Lucy until the final episode
I miss Lucy
I'm writing that the current year is 2024 and it's now been 35 years that have passed since Lucille Ball died in 1989. I Love lucy began airing reruns in syndication in January 1967 and it's now the year 2024 and it's now been in syndication for 58 years.
i was born in 1955 and watched I Love Lucy growing up. They stopping production in 1957 so if it wasn't in syndication until 1967, and I wasn't watching it live, what was I watching then?
Liz Taylor couldn’t stand Lucy, neither could Richard Burton
Rest in peace
No lucy! 🥺😢❤ She,s a true light of the show 😢🙏❤
Friends and family sent me condolences when she died. Like a part of my own family😢
I was her nurse!
So interesting, tell me about it.
My teacher in high school said she met Lucy and she said Lucy very stuck up acting.
think about it, they had to learn to keep boundaries because fans can be so obnoxious and dont respect personal space.
@@vlobascio we must remember they are human just like everyone else.
@@Michael-uu9nv yes and your point for this is?
@@vlobascio why do you even care? We are all human beings don't forget that.
On screen Funny. Off screen Serious. Amazing Woman. 35 years in Heaven now.
Did jfk cheat on his wife? Not so special person…
They both cheated on each other. I still loved JFK. When he was running for President when I was age 15, I took two buses by myself to see him at the Yonkers Train Station. To this day, if there is a program about the assassination it still makes me cry. I have lost my grandparents, parents, aunts & uncles, brothers and nephews and a niece. They all meant something to me. However, I can still feel deeply abt. JFK and Lucille Ball. (the only star I have a deep feeling for all these years later. First saw her in 1951 watched all the I Love Lucy Shows to get me thru Covid-19 lock down. And after that went into her film history and saw about 10 - 15 movies i had never seen before and thoroughly enjoyed them.
I used to stay up late to watch sports night on ITV at 1130. Great sports commentary RIP Dutch
Miss her
Simpler times.
RIP Dutchy. You made me laugh way too much and I'll never forget it.
RIP Dutch, saw you on here long before your call to the Big Show at TSN!!!! you were a part of my childhood including Edmonton area commercials (got ITV on satellite, in my town of NorthWest River, Labrador!!)
Rest in Peace Dutchy ❤ You, your voice and your inappropriate jokes were a great part of my life. I enjoyed watching you on anything you were on, especially CFL. You will be missed Legend.❤
RIP Dutch. Edmonton loves you.
Cheers Darren...and its your turn to get the next Pitcher of Draft Buddy....miss you all ....things are about to get kicked up a few notches now that Darrens at the Big Table....and here I am at 57 with tears in my coffee....miss you BUd
Rest in Peace Dutchy! You will be missed!
The One and ONLY - Lucille Ball!💕
This made me so tearful 😢 💔
I was in my car when I hear the news, and I had to pull over because I was crying so hard.
This is first news I've seen in 8 years that didn't mention Trump
Why? I'm guessing the algorithm got hacked ...
I don't like this message 🙁 my condolences to her family & friends 💐 I have watched countless hours of her performances in various works, including movies such as The Long LongTrailer .. 😇 ❤ 😇
....😢😢...💔💔💔💔😭😭😭......my favorite queen of comedy
For me this is so sad,I miss her so much,RIP amen 🙏 😢😢😢❤
I love Lucy I'm sad she's gone. RIP LUCY‼️🙏🙏🙏
Her whining was SOOOOOOO ANNOYING. She wasn't that funny
I Love Lucy came out in Oct of 1951 and was in about 70 countries in re-runs. The show is still running today Dec 2023. I guess a lot of people felt/ feel she was/is funny.
Agreed
Her whining got old real fast. The success of ILL was because of ALL four of the performers, not just her.
@@travisjames3517 I would say it was mostly her.
@travisjames3517 Desi Arnaz once said Lucy was the show. William Frawley, Vivian Vance and himself were just props. Good props, but props never the less.
Gale Gordon never another like him.
I will never understand why the passing of a famous person is any more tragic than an unknown person. I will never forget when JFK Jr died. The news said he was a very special person, my daughter said: "I think my dad is a very special person". Everyone dies and no one's death is any more tragic than anyone eleses. More people will be sad because more people knew and loved that person. I grew up with that tv show and enjoyed it very much. However, the passing of my parents was more tragic than that of a movie star I never knew or had a relationship with.
I don't get it either.
I was a teenager when JFK was killed and I still tear up today - I loved Lucille Ball and appreciated the love and laughter she gave to me and to the world - watching I Love Lucy (again) got me thru the Covid period of isolation
Also, I am not a fan type person - either movie, tv, music stars - I appreciated their gifts but I did love Lucy and still do today.
90% agree. The other 10%... I suspect it's for 2 reasons - 1) usually a lot of people's lives were affected one way or another by said famous person and its an acknowledgement that the famous person won't be a part of our lives anymore. I still miss knowing that someone like Lucille Ball is out there finding new ways to make people laugh and feel good. 2) But *mostly* it tends to remind us of our mortality, rich or poor, good or bad, criminal or saint... we all die. It's the great equalizer.
I understand what your saying and agree in part. That being said people feel a connection to a particular celebrity that they like and have watched or listened to for many years and often know things about them more then some people they know. I liked Sean Connery for 40 years and when he died I felt a little sad, but not like I would have had a personal loved one died. I do think some people go overboard on celebrity deaths and completely fall apart and that I wonder about. Celebrities are people too and their deaths are unwanted as anyone else's death.
