I love Shelbys but Steeda just dropped one for around 30k cheaper making the Shelby overpriced

I think the fact that these new S650 stangs can't be tuned probably has a lot to do with what Shelby can or can't do to their cars. Also, Ford probably has a say so too.

The higher performance versions has nothing to do with tuning or price (to a certain point). Most of high performance buyers are in our mid 50’s or older and we want the car to be turn key tuned and high performance from the factory. The biggest problem is that mess of a dashboard that looks like absolute crap, it is a clownish video game. Old school V8 muscle car enthusiasts don’t want a Nintendo dash board. We are not computer nerds or into gaming. The Zoomer gamers want an EV Tesla dash board in boring looking box or egg shaped car. They don’t care how the car looks, handles, or sounds. Cars to most of them are just an appliance, they want a Nintendo on wheels. The people buying the higher performance Mustang are mostly GEN-Xer’s and younger Booomer’s. Think big traditional analog gauges and keep the electronic gimmicks out of the car. We will never use them and probably never be able to figure them out anyways. Give us a manual gear box and a great exhaust system for a pure V8 sound track. Thank you ford for keeping the manual parking brake lever in the middle next the the gear box. Keep it simple and that will also keep the price and weight down. Less is better for handling and performance! I would entertain buying the next GT500, but not with the crappy EV Nintendo game box screen that goes 3/4’s the way across the dashboard! Better off buying a brand spanking new 1968 Shelby Cobra GT500 from Revology Cars in Orlando for 300K with a 710hp ROUSH Coyote 5.0 supercharged engine and a Tremec T-56 manual 6 speed gear box and modern suspension and brakes, it weight 400 pound less than the 2025 factory V8 Mustangs! Oh, and it doesn’t have anti lock brakes, or traction control, or even stability control! It is mostly old school like the 1960’s muscle cars we drove in high school. Prefect burnouts every time!

Raced a S650 Mustang GT with my 2019 Bullitt and pulled on it pretty good. Mine is stock, factory tuned with an H-pipe. and that's all.

Shelby American will die if they don't listen to their customers. The 350 has always been a canyon carver. The 500 had the big engine and was more muscle car. Sticking a supercharger on the nose of a 350 destroys it's handling. They should have gone for a big weight loss with a small HP upgrade and then make it handle great. It should be completely track capable with respect to cooling. That's what a GT350 is. The new Shelby American 350 is a hot-rod, not a track car.

The s550 the last great platform???? Don't get me wrong I like the s550 but the GTD is poised to be the greatest mustang ever,and what platform is it on????

The only mistake Shelby made was answering the naysayers. Shelby knows who will purchase these cars and they aren't nitpicking on TH-cam. The buyers are perfectly willing to pay for the name. The cars are probably already spoken for anyway.

I love Shelby and the history and I’ve owned 2 GT500’s. But this just rubbed me the wrong way. It’s insulting and lazy to try to pull this over on the consumer. I can build that in my garage for around $60k and they want $110k starting. Seriously, put some effort into it. For that money they could at least open the block and provide a forged bottom end, oil pump gears, cams, and for gods sake a Tremec transmission. That MT82 in that car is going to die a swift death if the owner gets on it a lot.

I bought a 2024 with performance package. I see a Whipple in my future and that's going to give me much more joy, Torque and HP than sending 50K extra to Shelby.

Mustang people are some of the most ridiculous and critical group of car people on the planet. I want to see what everyone is driving who criticized the car. You all are complaining about a car that will probably have 250-300 produced. Get over yourselves because more than half of you aren't buying on.

The only people downing the cars are people who have no idea of what the Shelby brand is. From the beginning it has been "performance," and they have delivered and delivered with 800+hp. What difference does it makes of what motor is in it, most of who are complaining can't afford one anyway. When the S550 dropped in 2014 people was downing it back then and now 11 years later the switch has been flipped. Yes, you are right, Shelby shouldn't have responded because the history of the Mustang and the "Shelby mustang" at that would have done the talking in a matter of time.

Shelby American race inspired products (RIP) isn't a big hit. Who wants to see another Whipple on a coyote with some badges? Their dilema? They are trying to keep doing business and making money and they got nothing. Sometimes you just gotta know when it's time to stop. They'd be better off selling the name to Ford at this point.

It’s fascinating to me that Shelby has the audacity to get defensive with a public already fed up with the price of everything. Especially when we know all too well what is being passed off here. It’s not the 90’s or 00’s anymore and everyone has access to the same aftermarket parts and knowledge.

big time flop! I have owned 10 mustangs in the past 20 years and the S650 has been by far the worst mustang (aesthetics wise) in the past 20 years! ford had got incredible lazy! the GT350 is supposed to be unique to the GT, not just a modified GT.

Glad I bought my New Edge Mustang. With that price tag I might as well build my Mustang up and still have money left.

If they put a voodoo in the new Gt350 then maybe it might be worth the money but I would absolutely buy a 2020 gt350R slap on a whipple or even a procharger and I’ll save 40 grand or so vs the new 350

Another S650 flop

The intrinsic value of the car is laughable. It is a GT that this business built and shamelessly slapped the Shelby logo on it to make money. What does this do to the Shelby name and legacy and what would the guy think? I'm glad people are talking about this and helping people understand what a terrible proposition this is. This car is just packaging and marketing exploitation at it's worst.
