I had one in Jamaica as a first car in the 90’s. Great engine and suspension. Most have no idea how good these are!

I drive a Pleo RS with the same engine. Unfortunately mine is bit heavier than the Vivio. The manufacturer stated 64hp., but owners know the engine puts out a lot more. I have read it is over 70, but with a pulley change and a tuned ECU itis about 82hp. Remove the speed limiter and it pulls over 180kph.

I want to import one of these wonderful cars from Japan to my home country Canada

This a still a regular car at where I lived. I even owned one before, only problem I have is that the car is too low. Our roads are not good and puddles is deep, compared to the car.

That's actually an F6-a engine. Now that I took a closer look, the Japanese-built Wagon Rs are true Keis, because they are smaller than European-built variants

The Wagon R is not a true Kei Car, because it exceeds Kei dimensions. It's Kei-like. But not a true Kei. I presently own a 1997 Wagon R with the 1 liter fuel-injected twin-cam engine. Like the one you're driving, the clutch is quite grabby. I plan to convert it over to a 4-speed automatic. I also own a Daihatsu MOVE of the same age which is a true Kei Car, except for the large 843 cc engine. The second generation Wagon Rs are nearly identical to the Opel Agila you were mentioning. The Wagon Rs are assembled in Hungary and the Agilas in Poland

I had one in Abu Dhabi in 1976. It was superb. I even hooked it up to a Range Rover that could not get his boar out of the water. my Suzuki and I got them both out. The Range Rover was reluctant, however there was no other help around. He was gutted!

On the AZ-1, note you can fix most of the issues with leg clearance and ingress/exit by adding a quick release or tilting quick release steering wheel hub. It will add about 2-2.5" of space from the stock wheel position and that will bring it away from your thighs as well as remove the obstacle of the steering wheel when getting in and out. Additionally, you don't have to grab onto the glass or put your hands all over the door sill/seals, you can just reach back slightly where the side bolsters are on the seat and just push yourself up/down that way and therefore not damage your weather seals or get your hands all dirty and I find it actually easier to just grab/push off the seat. Do both of these things and it's honestly not a problem at all to get in and out of and drive. It's crazy that the vast majority of owners still have the stock wheel position despite being tall, it's only like $100 for a universal quick release.

Beautiful and luxurious. Classy understated styling. Definitely a car for real world driving. It actually does remind one of the American Crown Victoria, also a well equipped unpretentious sedan.
