Hearing Center at Florida Eye Specialists - Welcome
At Florida Eye Specialists & Cataract Institute, we understand the importance of your vision and your hearing, and are proud to offer care and treatment options under one roof (at our Brandon, South Tampa, and Sun City Center clinic). Our Hearing Center offers a multitude of hearing services and treatments, with the goal of improving our patients quality of life and helping them LOVE their HEARING!
Much like changes to your vision, being able to hear a full range of sound can decline slowly with age. Hearing loss is degenerative and is best when caught early, which is why we recommend a hearing screening by age 55. Actually, 16% of adults, age 18 and older, report hearing loss, and increases to 33% by age 60.
Additionally, untreated hearing loss can contribute to depression, anxiety, isolation, becoming a fall risk, and 30-40% increased risk of cognitive (including Alzheimer’s and Dementia) decline as well. Hearing and communicating are key ingredients to strong and happy relationships. In fact, people who treat their hearing loss acknowledge a positive effect on their relationships with family and friends.

What about light sensitivity
is that painful to our eyes because we need to do that surgery without blinking our eyes right then how come in the video or in real life it will be done
I had lazer eye surgery and it did NOT hurt. The ratta tat tat sound is somewhat nerve racking. Overall, it was just my nerves that I had to deal with.

Although lens replacement surgery in most cases restores vision completely, there is still one negative consequence. A large number of patients develop secondary cataracts over time: from 30-50% of those operated on. CONCLUSION: even if you implant the most expensive or the most technologically advanced lens FOR 30-50% of patients you will need to make a HOLE so that LIGHT reaches the retina, isn’t it easier to just insert a “GOOD” MONOFOCAL HYDROPHOBIC LENS...... Why then do eye surgeons in mainly ADVERTISING various ARTIFICIAL LENSES ??? Answer: 1) campaigning to acquire patients, AND IN THE RESULT MONEY 2) Companies that produce not only lenses, but also related devices and materials, THAT IS, THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY AROUND THE EYES is initially interested in ADVERTISING their products. (but this is not advertising around cars or sneakers, etc., BUT THESE ARE EYES...)

Dr. Patel was on-call on an evening my husband had a medication injection for treatment for Diabetic Macular Edema. We had some concerns, so we called the after hours service. Dr. Patel returned our call almost immediately. He was so impressively kind and reassuring.
