Türkiye’de bu ışıkları üretiyorum ❤
Would of been nice to actuly see it work.
This is all good information; thank you. So, why are your EZ Pet Lights advertised as full spectrum? Do you have 50, 40 or even 23 million dollars to pay out when someone files a false advertising claim against you? Just wondering.
use ball nipple dispenser to your water system. don't need to worry about flushing
Which gum you are using
It’s called “household goop” and it’s easy to find.
Don't birds need light for their hormonal health, regardless of UVB, UVA or otherwise? They have pineal glands like humans that need light during the day and darkness during the night.
Yes!!!!! I’m so glad to hear someone who gets it. I could talk about that subject forever because it’s so important and so few people understand it. I did a much much much longer video on the science behind artificial light and birds.
Do normal lights with average cri look like strobe lights to birds? How can you tell which bulbs are best near a cage?
DO you ship to Malta. (E.U)
Thanks for the info about the “full spectrum” myth. I am left wondering about providing additional lighting though. It looks like your cages in the background have lighting. Do you use additional lighting? If so, what are you using?
I make lighting for birds. I remade this video but don't know how to replace a video on TH-cam :( and I hate to delete it. Updated video - th-cam.com/video/6K6dVJ3eQk4/w-d-xo.html My store www.breedingcage.com/
Fantastic!! And I could have watched it for twice as long!! Thank you for doing this!! X
How many hours for a cockatiel and how far please ? For an avian sun spectrum lamp.
Thanks for this video! I always do my research on products that have significant importance/consequences. You've saved me good money.
Thank you! My grandfather died to we took in his fischer dwarf parrots yesterday. Lovely birds but we know nothing about birds and I want to give them the best life I can give them. I didnt know about lamps at all. We live in Sweden. Would it be enough for the birds to be on The balcony (in the Cage) for abit a day instead of a lamp that does nothing but give light?
YES! But half under a plant (partial shade)... and supervised if the balcony isn't zoo-meshed enclosed because most cages aren't predator-proof. BTW- I'm not M&MCageco, but someone who am compelled to answer.
How far do you usually put your birds perches from the light
Thanks/ great info!
Everything about this video is too slow. Your speech is far too slow to garner interest on TH-cam. It’s incredibly boring to listen to. I’m sure 99% of people who viewed this video clicked off before 43 seconds, which is the length of time it took you to BEGIN to reveal the information. That is too slow! You could probably make a bit of money narrating a guided sleep video though. The cadence of your voice would help people sleep. Either that, or triple the pace. If you want to reach more people, that is.
Thank you for making me smile, I found your comment amusing At my age I am the way I am and probably not going to change.
M&M Cage Company, LLC I however appreciated the pace, it allowed me to digest the information well. I am sure I’m not alone here. Thank you for taking the time to provide the much needed detail in this video.
I watched this Video to the end without any problems.
Simply go to settings and adjust the speed to about 1.5, that is what I did.
It is very disrespectful of you to talk to your elders this way, woe to you
Thank you so much for making this video! You just saved me $60 on fake lighting, and I also didn't feel all that safe putting a light bulb above my birds' cage (especially a CFL type light bulb)... CFL light bulbs contain terrible toxic chemicals and if the light above my birds' cage ever broke or exploded above my birds, I would be insanely depressed as I'm sure my poor birds would suffer because of it. Thanks to your video; I will forego this UV/Full Spectrum light-bulb-above-the-cage gimmick and just add some more nice natural-looking lighting to my room to hopefully help liven my birds up. More importantly, I'll make sure my birds get more window time for natural sunlight when I let them out of their cage. Thanks again and have a great day! I will share this info and your video with others.
Thank you so much for posting this video from a bird keepers perspective. Ive kept birds for over 30 years n they never had lamps, my vet recommended I get one so I went to research them. Personal experience of regular 'daylight bulbs' not put near my birds As someone who likes art n paper crafts I went for a daylight bulb ONCE, great for shooting video for you tube, did do wonderful things for colours BUT as someone who is sensitve to flickery lights, the daylight bulbs set off really bad headaches n migrains due to the flicker u can't see but is there. So I stopped using it, it also makes me wary of wanting it near my bird. I have a little experience of UVB bulbs used for sunbeds. no training just on the door but when new bulbs were installed they had to drastically cut how long people were exposed to the lamps as they are way more powerful when new. I love my bird, he has a spot near a window, so he gets light n interaction with me and lots of tlc but I am not conviced it is safe or wise to use a lamp with him so I won't be getting one. I fear there isn't enough information supplied with the bulbs for safe use. I worry how hot the bulb get n that he will get over heated, and I don't want to roast or blind my bird, so NO I won't be getting a bulb set for him. There are so many things said to be wonderful for birds by the makers, but they aren't good for the birds at all. I could get very soapbox sam about bird toys made of dangerous and toxic to birds materials, how awful most cage designs are. Advertising that runs on fear, creating a fear then presenting a fix is rife, and I don't buy into it. I research and make up my own mind based on personal experience. If you are still posting ( I see this is an old video) then I would be interested to hear about the lighting u r using for your birds and why. Is it because they are living in a space without any natural daylight at all (no windows) so u can keep their days and nights light and dark enough respectivly? thanks for posting this informative video. I did watch to the end but I liked how u put the results at the start too.
He is defiantly using lights (see them in the background) he is also selling lights. It is not that people should not use lights with their birds, it is only that he wants you to buy them from him instead if those liars. He is a bird breeder that also sells cage accessories. They will not "roast" (birds love heat) or "blind" your bird (that cataract speech was pure hooey -- no study's). It is true that only the sun has physiological health effects but lights DO have psychological health effects. Buy his if you choose. They are at least as expensive but they do have cool "CageGuards". They do no more or less good or harm than the cheaper lights but they are LED so, no flickering. Of course the best advise of all is: Get your bird outside as much as possible.
Hey dude, the patience needed to watch this video is not due to the innate short attention span of video watchers. The patience needed is due to your sloooow.....booooring..... speech pattern. I imagine that you loose listener attention on an everyday basis. OMG... If your goal is for people to make it to the end of the video, have someone with a normal oral syntax present it. You never explained why you have florescent bulbs above the bird cages in the background.
The gentleman in the video presented fantastic information and he just saved me $60 on fake advertising and gimmick lighting that I almost bought into. I take if you've never been to any scientific classes in college where you would have undoubtedly dealt with someone who is very scientific-minded and isn't practicing to be on TV or trying to entertain you with a song and dance? This guy presented awesome and useful information; and I doubt it was his main goal to keep you entertained during this video...that's why the presenter said in the first couple of minutes of the video exactly what the results were so you didn't have to listen to anything further if you didn't want to...aka the result is that ALL of these bulbs make false claims. This video was incredibly helpful for me and while it wasn't like going to see the latest Avengers movie, I stuck with it and I enjoyed the information. I too am kind of curious as to why the presenter has bulbs above his birds cages but I can only imagine that it is to help psychologically stimulate his birds and make the birds feel like they are in a happy and well-lit environment along with being able to better simulate day and night while the birds are indoors, which in-turn likely helps the birds' sleeping patterns and moods...plus that kind of lighting is sure to show off the birds' great plumage. As a follow-up though, I would love to hear what the outcome of the presenters' previous experiment was, regarding his custom UV LED light that he built and whether or not it had any impact on the health of the birds.
@@enigmarocker I am glad you enjoyed the information. I found him condescending. I had to wonder why he, an internet scientist, did not reveal his "lots of studies" sources. I would be particularity interested in the ones concluding that bird lights (which read 0 on his spectrometer) cause cataracts. I do believe that electrical lighting, including his, only affects psychological health (which helps) and that only the sun can impact physiological health. That being said, you can now take the $60 you saved not purchasing another manufacturer's light and spend it on the $50-$60 LED strip lights that his manufacturer is selling. It does have a pretty cool "ChewGuard" cord. Looks like more time outside is the real answer.

You are awesome!!!! I love science. Amazes me how companies can say their product does something but it doesn't
can you please help me build the light that you built please
They are already built. You can buy them from M&M Cages. He is a bird breeder that sells cage accessories including those lights.
Thank you for your video, it save me a lot of money, I will share with any one who is thinking of buying a lamp for their birds...
So why don't you sue zoomed and save us all some money?
i am getting a parrot next week i was so busy preparing for her to come home and was torn about not spending that money on the lamp and stand. so i came to youtube to find reviews on the best one and came across your video. thank you for taking away lamp stress for me lol
Even if lights do not affect physiological health, they DO affect psychological health. Please buy your bird indoor lights and an outdoor cage! Buy your lights from his company if you choose but do not deprive your bird of light (notice his birds have them). He is a bird breeder who also sells cage accessories including lights.
I always am amazed by how much opposition I often get about the so called ( marketing term) "full spectrum"bulbs. Because I am a member of the Herp Society and have reptiles it was important I learned from the many experts about lighting needs so it is very important that the lighting bulbs used for herps do what they say they do . Only a few herp lights actually give off the UVB rays they say such as like the " ReptiSun " bulbs. I believe the company has one for avian that has tested honestly as well! You have to be 8 to 10 inches away to get the short rays of the UVB to reach the animal. and shockingly with most other manufacturer's bulbs ( like the Vita lights , Ott, etc.) to get UVB you have to be literally 1 to 2 inches away to get any reading at all from the meter reader ? I was able to get my UVB Meter (6.2 ) by Solarmeter with a group of us on the yahoo special herp list, filled with experts and we all participated in a study testing different company bulbs in the USA , EU , AU and NZ....the truth was shocking ....very few actually do what they say they do! [www.solarmeter.com/model6.html] For crafts and artwork and just for all around feeling " good" the lights are wonderful...though really over priced . So remember ..IF you want them solely for synthesizing vitamin D into D3 ...you are wasting your hard earned money. I went literally crazy when I got my Solarmeter ....testing bulbs everywhere I went ( I just would keep my meter with me )....and almost getting thrown out of a parrot store even after asking politely if I could test the bulbs being sold. The truth is glass and plastic will not allow UVB rays to penetrate them ..(thus ...zip...no vit D3 )...unless you purchase the very expensive UV-permeable plexiglas. Plexiglas made to allow UVB to penetrate and used in many zoo's worldwide. Sunlight through windows or plastic does not do a parrot/reptile any good when it comes to vit. D3 ( actually a hormone) as UVB cannot penetrate them. You need sunlight, or the right lamp (and honestly I'm not sure ANYONE really knows the *right* lamp at this time).
AND, if you use full spectrum lights too close to parrots or birds, like closer than 12 inches, then you risk blinding the bird. My statement is based on an actual experience by a bird breeder who did place a full spectrum bulb on a bird cage so that the light was about 8 to 10 inches from the birds' heads. Those birds became blind as a result of that bulb being so close. As a result, we never recommend the use of full spectrum bulbs at all.
This video is amazing. THANK YOU.
Yes, thank you so much! I was about to buy a "UV lamp" to a parrot and I will not now. Besides i Know that that coil shaped bulbs have a lot of dirty electricity, that is a sort of electromagnetc pollution I think. Good job. And funny. : )
Great video! SUPER informative.
Very interesting. But look at the link th-cam.com/video/flIqAwDTvNg/w-d-xo.html
