Liberians No Longer Interested in Building Retirement Homes|Community Updates
Welcome to the new year, everyone. On this channel, we promote businesses and discuss development across the African continent, with a primary focus on Liberia. Although it can be challenging to witness unfavorable events in some of these locations, we persist in our efforts, driven by the hope that positive change is possible, even if it begins with one individual at a time.
In this video, we highlight a development currently underway in Royesville, Liberia, West Africa. Arthur, a member of the development team, joins us to discuss his involvement, despite having been absent from the country for an extended period.
Considering this is a group development, we expect progress to be steady. As a result, we’ve completed the following phases of the development:
1. Land clearing-10 plus acres✅
2. Mapping of various alleys✅
3.2 miles road construction including culvert wotk✅
4. Currently completing the water tower where water will be housed to supply 25+ homes in the community.
Upon completion, the team will proceed to drill a borehole to provide a water supply for construction purposes and community use.
-Construction of houses to begin March 2025.
Slow progress is better than no progress.

Where exactly is this hotel located in Liberia? Most Liberian TH-camrs ALWAYS fail to provide a clear description of the location of the events and places they show in their videos. Location always helps your viewers.
@@jgl2117 Thank you for pointing that out. I will be more descriptive next time. The hotel is located near City Hall/UN building side. 2nd street
@zawadiem Oh, okay, where Lame Miller (Salvation Army polytechnic) is, right?
@ Down Stella Maris polytechnic and after the UN building is the Len Miller Trade School. All in the same area
Okay thanks a lot. In the notes you upload with each video, please add detailed description about the location of the event or place you videotape. In that way viewers will always reference the location and find it. Please do not put it in the comment section. Could you also share this advice with your liberian TH-camr community? Thanks again.

I like his mindset we all really need to work collectively but some of our people are not light minded. Been here too long, wanna go home and add value, and impact my peoples lives. TRUSTME!
I concur with your assessment. Until we shift our mindset, progress will remain limited.
U right! bur safety 1st.. I visited Barbados and Ghana free movements CCTV, citizens understand the laws of the land. I'm willing to Help
@@zawadiem mindset is the key word, but discipline a plus been there trust me!
Property taxes should be paid yearly in order to make sure services are provided. The mindset that no one will bother you to pay taxes is why Liberia is backwards.
@@organizedbet.6113 Facts
I know a lot of Liberians who are not into building for retirement. Some Liberians here in Fargo, ND are buying homes for investment. Some even put their projects on hold in Liberia for a lot of reasons. Safety being the top priority and the burning of houses. There's a lady here who built her new house and put renters in it. 3 week ago, her entire new house got burned completely. Even though, there are Liberians who are certained to go back home and are still continuing their building projects.
They are deliberately burning homes in Liberia including the capitol building.
I thought the deliberate act was only perpetrated against the capitol?🤦🏾♀️
The more of us that go home and vote, I can see big changes coming. Helping to educate the people on their basic rights and how they need to hold leaders accountable
Correct.Accountability must be paramount in this development movement. Liberia belongs to us all.
Praying more Liberians see the vision and realize only us can build Liberia . We can’t just stay abroad and hope and pray for development
We have to play our part🙏🏾

How has the study of social work--especially if clinical--helped you personally in dealing with your experiences of the war?
Response from Madame Siehdi Since I was young, even prior to the war, I have aspired to be a social worker. My focus has always been on ensuring my family and others in Liberia were okay, as long as I was physically able to leave. Supporting those struggling is my priority as a social worker.
@@zawadiem I really appreciate this response of when and why. However, I am curious about the personal psychosocial benefits that her study provided for her to help her process her own experiences of the war. For example, the five dead nuns who she had been close to: Did her study in social work help her process that experience? How? I suppose I am curious to highlight any connections between her humanitarian work in education and the psychosocial benefits of her field of study: how the two can enhance education in Grand Kru.
I have always wanted to give back for as long as I can remember, but I never made the connection between humanitarian work in education and my career in Social Work until now. My goal is to continue the work the Nuns started in Liberia, particularly in Grandcess, since they were no longer returning, unfortunately. Following my 2012 visit to Grandcess, I felt compelled to act due to the school's deplorable conditions.
@@zawadiem You are kind to consider my question here. Perhaps, in the future, an opportunity such as this one may present itself for more exploration of the topic of personal psychosocial benefits from your study of social work and their connection to your humanitarian work in education in Grand Kru. Thanks again!
@ Definitely. More in-depth details will be provided eventually. I appreciate your questions, as there must be a psychological impact.
Thank you so much Emma😊
