    Welp. You sir are a freakin genius. Id like to have a video tour of your shop to see what else you've been tinkering with. Is your coffee maker in the kitchen stock, or has it been mcgee-ified? Good stuff man.

    Nice layout. Seat is fastened great in rear but what keeps the front of the seat from flipping up when you learn back? Thanks for any help. By the way, I'm almost 80.

    My first time Kayaking and this Kayak held strong. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx4k5UrhC3v_Y4hIEaXLGvHcN5a5aBmZNB The water got pretty rough as a speed boat zipped by me, and the Kayak withstood it (I expected to be capsized). The Ores are very easy to put together, the pump worked beautifully. the seats are a bit hard to sit in after a while (I recommend sitting on the floor). after reading the reviews I was very scared it'd get a hole in it, the material is very strong and durable. The Air valve may need a small Phillips head screwdriver to adjust, other than that, it's well worth the money!(update)I've gone Kayaking in 3 Lakes and 2 rivers totaling about 40 miles. the kayak had two holes and they patched easily and no other problems can't wait for kayaking season this year!

    I just bought the same kayak used. It only has a seat and a paddle. I want to add a fishfinder as well. What kind of battery is that and how did you rig it to the fish finder? Please

    When I'm ready to go out, I put it in the bed of my truck. Truck is made out of pvc that I heated up and flattened out.

    Wow you really did a great job on all these modifications. I’m in anchorage Alaska and our Walmart here just marked down these orange kayaks from $320 to $79 so I really like your seat set up and the side floats. I will be doing that myself.

    When you screw anything to your kayak, do you use any kind of sealant?

    • @donmcgee7969
      @donmcgee7969 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used marine adhesive but any caulk type sealant would probably do. I just used it to give the screws a little more to hold onto.

    I tried mounting the same seat to my kayak and because I am 6' 2" I found that my center of gravity was too high. I don't have pontoons on mine and just felt like I was going to tip even when casting. Plus I found the seat back dug into my back and I couldn't be on the water for more than a few hours.

  • @bluegill2030
    @bluegill2030 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have this same kayak and it’s extremely stable, never had any issues tipping or even coming close. Lots of good stuff in the video though. “Less is More” when it comes to kayak fishing,

    Great video. I have been kayak fishing for five years now. One thing I did was install a retractable rudder, that I can raise up when I need to. It makes my Journey 10 track as straight as an arrow when I paddle.

  • @eagleviewhd
    @eagleviewhd 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know at 73 years of age, I am not going to be able to get back in my kayak, so the best idea is to never fall out. I am modifying my Journey 10 with some outriggers, so the kayak will not flip over!

    I added a homemade rudder n bracket , out of nylon cutting board . Will ride up over grass n rocks , pins in upright position for transport. Makes boat track straight . Nice mods. I have numerous PVC rod holders on crate ..6 . Clamp on umbrella is cool too
