Bushcraft on a mountain top - solo overnight, no tent, campfire, stories and film
#Storiesandfilm #KristianWolski #Bushcraft
This time i'm in Norway. After some time in Sweden I decided to stay in Norway for the next 6 weeks. The first day I arrived it was a wonderful weather and I just felt direct going to the woods and stay there for some time. Since the woods in Norway mostly includes mountains I couldn't resist going up and sleep there. When Im out and sleeping in nature (specially without a tent) I always keep to the three tips/rules that I learnt some years ago. 1: Make a camp away from the wind. 2: Keep near drinking water. 3: Keep near firewood. The first one is makes sure that you will not have a cold night. The wind is a hard one if you sleep in it on stay in it for a longer time. The second one is really wonderful. If you are used to have tap water in your home then this rule make life easier when you are out. The third tip is also wonderful because a campfire makes one having a good time and keeping one warm if necessarily. And sometime you really need to collect a lot of wood. But funny enough on this adventure I simply skip these rules, because the weather conditions are perfect and I the feeling of sleeping on a mountain top and waking up there is absolutely worth it.
50 meters down under my camp area I found a mountain lake. The water there is fresh water and yes it is drinkable. During the night I was surrounded by sheep's and they gave me there permission to stay over night in there home (the mountains). Next morning when I woke up - all the sheep's was gone. I hade a wonderful night. Just before I felt asleep - I made some food on the fire and drank a cup a coffee while I was enjoying the sunset. Afterwards I felt asleep while I was looking on the beautiful sky full of stars.
The day after I woke up and went down to the mountain lake to wash myself. Quickly I realized that washing myself with my hands didn't make sense - so I jumped in the lake. Best way to wash yourself.
I really want point out that life outside in the woods or on a mountain or whatever that includes nature - is a simple way to get an adventure and it gives you a huge amount of pleasure. Please if you feel inspired - pack your stuff and go out and enjoy. And if you live some hours away from nature - start planing your trip. Theres a lot out there that you shouldn't skip. What is the name of the song?
🤠 Thank you. Beautiful. 🎶🎵
Wundervoll gespielt 🙏
Was kostet so eine Citter? Lieben Gruß von Sibylle aus Hamburg ☀️
A beautiful thing. To sail a dinghy on calm water leaving only a serpentine trace and the sound of gently lapping brine behind. Being there❤
So like Irish music except for the odd note, here and there, that wouldn't be in Irish music... But such similarity.. Beautiful 🤗
love the feeling and the atmosphere of your videos! I put your cittern music as background for my dnd games specifically when they travel the landscape or the forest :) thank you for the art you bring to the table
I just found your channel, and really like your music. Will you be posting more? It is so beautiful.
This has just appeared on my video suggestions. Lovely. I play mandolin & tenor guitar (and have had a bouzouki). What is the tuning here for your cittern? Beautiful I don't think anyone has asked you that question here; which is kind of refreshing because it means it's reached a wider audience than the player crowd :)
Very beautiful. And nicely done drone as well! I'm debating between a Goldtone and Eastman Octave mando right now...which brought me here. I like the LOOK of the Eastman, but the deeper resonance of the Goldtone...
can I ask what woods are your cittern please?
Nicely done. Sounds great. What is the tuning of a Cittern?
Hi, wonderful sound, How do you tune this cittern?
❤❤❤. ❤❤❤. ❤❤❤ Thenkyou, super
❤Super ❤
This is really beautiful. Very nice sound. Thank you for sharing..
So so beautiful warm sound ..from where do I get this types of traditional instrument...I love traditional irish instruments and traditional European instruments but our country you will never get this types of instruments but Iam looking for this instrument I never get it ❤ From india
This is so good. Nice to see some scandinavian folk revival.
Its interesting how it sounds so similar to the way a sitar is played
Oldefar sin musikk jo🇳🇴🙌🏻
Masterful - thank you!
what's the mic plugged into? (great music btw)
Were those harmonic tones naturally coming from the instrument?
Hey! This tune was made my great-great-great grandfather Otte Nilsson Haukanes, who died in 1847. :D
Absolutely beautiful instrument, song and playing. I need to get a cittern now!
Wonderful!
Excellent performance, I have been enjoying it for a couple years. Do you happen to know where one could find sheet music for songs like this?
Reminds me so much of walking through the woodlands of Sør Trøndelag 💚🌲🌿🌱🌲🌿
What ethnicity are you?
Wow! I love the tone! I play an octave mandolin handmade for me in British Columbia. My music is mostly Celtic but your music is very inspiring so my music evolves! Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful .. I love your work ❤✌🌏
I miss your videos brother. Haven't watched this video in a few years.... still speechless. It's like I saw it the first time again. Hope all is fine with you!
a beautiful melody, instrument, performance and backdrop.. well done.. what a joy..
Remarkably beautiful! Thinking about how a mandolin or tin whistle could add to this.
I am Swedish, not Norwegian, but this cuts right to my soul anyway. edit: also big ups to Mattias Pérez for suffering for the art when a mosquito lands on his arm at 1:06 and he just keeps playing after looking at it
What do you mean swedish? This tune was made by my great-great-great grandfather Otte Nilsson Haukanes, who died in 1847, was from Folkedal, Norway and is buried in Torvastad, Norway. Nothing swede about it. ;)
@@megatryn I meant I am Swedish, but as I wrote, it cuts to my soul anyway. Will clarify original comment :)
Beautiful!
What an incredible sound!! Thank you so much for sharing your gift! Do I hear a piano in there?!
How beautiful. Upon listening, I looked up Mats Nordwall. Is your instrument medium size or large? Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful.
Beautiful. It'd be amazing for you guys to make a duo album of all arrangements like these. Sounds incredible!
Could you tell more about the cittern? How it's tuned, the history of its use, the sort of setting it would be played in the folk tradition Thanks for the fantastic playing!
Hi, Kristian. It's great to visit long-time friends here in yt. It's been a while. Hope all is well with you and hope to see you back on track again very soon. As always, I enjoy watching your entire clips. Nature is indeed the best way to relax and breathe fresh air, and fresh energy. You were so lucky to have an awesome interaction with that lovely sheep. I love the panoramic view. Must be so nice to swim in that lake alone. So peaceful and quiet. Thanks for sharing, Kristian. Can't wait for your new upload. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!🎄 -Avi
I wish you were on Spotify! Love your music, keep it up!
Thanks guys. This music is enchanting.
I use DGDAD on my Cittern. Which of the numerous options do you use? Sounds like a open chord, maybe DADAD?
Hi I use CFCGC!
@@storiesfilm-kristianwolski7950 similar intervals to mine, just a bit lower.
There's not so many cittern players out there! What cittern do you have? Builder I mean?
@@storiesfilm-kristianwolski7950 Ordered mine from folkfriends in Hamburg. I`m not sure, who made it, but I like the way it sounds and the playing touch… But, I would be ready to invest more, if there was a luthier for Citterns. You can't have too many instruments, can you?
I've only ever heard this tune on hardangerfele. This is sublime. Thank you!
Going back through some of the channels I subscribe to and I haven't seen you post in quite a while. Hope you're doing OK - I really liked your videos. Cheers brother.
Thanks. I’m good. I will be back but not yet. Hope everything is well with you
