Classic LHF Switching at Vardo! | 10/18/24

Due to an SD40E striking a tractor trailer about a month ago (from the date of recording) the Vardo Yard crews had to do all the switching long hood-forward (LHF.) It’s definitely interesting to see an SD40-3 with an Admiral Cab running long hood forward, especially a former N&W unit, lol.

On June 1st, 2023, N&W 611 would make her way down the Lurgan. I chose to intercept the Queen of Steam at State Line, Pennsylvania/Maryland. In the meantime, the dispatcher allowed KH00 (CSXT L152) to keep moving up to SHIP. CSXT 4529 was put off a coal train for reasons unbeknownst to me, and was moved somewhere into the yard, and I can only assume it was low on fuel and didn't have enough for the trip up Sand Patch Grade.

This is a video I like SD40’s. Are the dash 2 or 3’s I could see the markers.
The leading engine is a SD40-3 with an Admiral Cab and the tailing engine is a SD40E.
