We tested 98 Old Fashioned Recipes, here's the BEST!

This is not an Old Fashioned recipe copied from a book. We've spent 3 years tasting some 98 variations made for us in New York, San Francisco, Portland, Edinburgh, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and more. Here's the very best. There's a technique in the video that makes a huge difference, it comes from the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco, and yes they make an outstanding Old Fashioned.

Taylor’s favourite cocktail is an old fashioned
Wrong true bourbon is only distilled in Kentucky with natural limestone water then aged in a barrel for 2-5 years. This is why Kentucky is home of bourbon everything else is whiskey but not true bourbon
Wrong, bourbon can be made in any US state. Stop stating it has to be made in KY as the largest bourbon distilleries are not in KY; Indiana and Louisiana are the largest bourbon distilling states. 27 CFR § 5.22(I) - Class 12; Products without geographical designations but distinctive of a particular place [in relevent part as pertaining to Bourbon] (1) The whiskies of the types specified in paragraphs (b) (1), (4), (5), and (6) of this section are distinctive products of the United States and if produced in a foreign country shall be designated by the applicable designation prescribed in such paragraphs, together with the words “American type” or the words “produced (distilled, blended) in __”, the blank to be filled in with the name of the foreign country: Provided, That the word “bourbon” shall not be used to describe any whisky or whisky-based distilled spirits not produced in the United States. Great details Scott, thanks! There's MGP of course, but who are you referring to in Louisiana, Sazerac?
Isn't that dry
“Dry” is a commonly misunderstood term. Most people, professionals even, think it means little to no vermouth. It actually refers to ice melt diluting a drink. If stirred or shaken on ice too long the melting ice dilutes or “wets” the drink, the opposite is “dry”.
