1965 Mercury Parklane Maruader Survivor
This is a 1965 Mercury Parklane Marauder I pulled out of a shed where it has sat since 1993. The car had the same owner from 1966 until 2017 when I bought it.

M35A2 Bobbed Deuce and a Half GoPro Time Lapse
มุมมอง 449K8 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a 1969 Kaiser M35A2 that I bobbed. It is the second one I've done so it went pretty smooth. I couldn't find any royalty free music that I could stand, so the time lapse portion is without sound. Time lapse interval is once every 5 seconds, or once every 10 seconds depending on the task.

    Your GoPro time lapse build video was amazing! Was it a matter of changing rims when going from duallys to the super single tires?

      Yea, to run singles you have to swap to beadlock style rims

      I did another video that is time lapse that shows the entire build of the one I built after this one. Search “bobbed deuce time lapse” and it should pop up. Basically you cut the frame and suspension and remount a single axle back with a set of front axle springs.

    Back in the day, your could drive a car like that down the highway at 100mph with 2 fingers on the wheel and a cigarette' in the other hand! THOSE WERE THE DAYS, WHEN CARS DEMANDED RESPECT!

    Was an Army Paratrooper for 15 years and a vet of 3 wars. Drove the shit out of them in the Army. Perhaps one of the finest and most useful military trucks ever made. Been wanting to acquire and bob one for many years myself. Your vid Sir, has lit a fire under my ass now. LOL One should consider these trucks can still be found at Government auctions for low cost and even with low mileage. You can even get ones that have the multi-burn motors in them too. Then you have a monster 4x4 that will burn on any fuel. One can have a truck badder than any 50K dollar 4WD and do it on the cheap. Wanted to ask Coodawg, What trailer bed did you use ? I know there was 2 trailers. There was a M101 which was a 3/4 ton trailer. There was also the M105 which was a 1 ton trailer. I'm assuming you used the M105 as I know they were longer. An M101 would seem to short to my memory. Also on the rear leaf springs when finished. Did you use the originals and remove some leaves or swap springs ? I have heard the springs from the M105 1 ton trailer can be used. Just curious how you did it.

    Could you PLEASE tell me where you got the wheel adapters to go from 6 bolt to the new style wheels you put on your "bobbed" deuce and a half? I have a 1975 Dodge D600 with the exact same bolt pattern and the only thing I can find are new 22.5 rims @ $250+ shipping! Out of my price range and would LOVE to have a set of "super singles" on the back. Thanks

      @coondawg6168 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tri Pacer sure thing. eBay. They were $100 each. Worked like a champ. I used 1”x 3” bolts. This truck in this video had 6 lug combat rims. The second one I bobbed in the time lapse had the adapter.

    • @coondawg6168
      @coondawg6168 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alex Duke yea, I got tired of the negativity with the comments. The bed came off a M105 trailer. These are actually two different builds. It’s a fun build, but it’s heavy work. Make sure you have a way to move all the parts. Getting all the rivers out that hold the rear suspension on is tough too.

    • @alexduke5402
      @alexduke5402 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coondawg I live on a farm and work on heavy equipment more than I'd like to admit I'm all too familiar with heavy parts that will amputate limbs if you look at them the wrong way what could possibly be said negative about this build other than cutting up an iconic workhorse it's fucking sweet

    • @greggkemp5985
      @greggkemp5985 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just curious. As you know, the military classifies it's vehicles a bit funny. A deuce and a half is rated 2.5 ton's off road, it's doubled for on road use - 5 ton's. A 5 ton truck can, and will carry, 10 ton's on road, and 5 ton's off road. I bet yours would surprise you, with what it can safely carry.

    whats the shift pattern on this transmission?

    • @coondawg6168
      @coondawg6168 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Travis Buckler 4th and 5th is opposite what would be “normal.” This allowed for the shifter to be up and away from the center when at highway speeds. I’m assuming to save the passengers knees.

      I'm pretty sure they call that a horseshoe pattern one of our kenworths has the 10spd horseshoe Eaton I haul to the mill with that and it messes me up for a day in and out of the trucks when we're cutting grain and I go from truck to truck.. the other two kws have a standard pattern

    • @mrbeefhbw
      @mrbeefhbw 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      A Deuce is not a Mack. You never shift a Deuce into 1st unless completely stopped. There is a placard on the shift pattern diagram telling you this. 2-5 gear on a Deuce are syncho meshed where as first gear is non-synchro.
