"Sorry, I was Looking at my Mobile Phone" - a powerful poem from Purbeck Poet, Martin Hobdell

Another of my favourite poems from Martin Hobdell, Purbeck Poet. Here, we have cutting social commentary on the threat to our relationships when and where our mobile phones demand so much of our time and attention. Follow Martin on his poetry channel here: bit.ly/The-Purbeck-Poet

I was there in my youth. It has been changed. Less secluded? The curator told me that one of his rugs that was hanging in his home was stolen. He played Lawrence's gramophone and a record for me. I remember how the music had a tinny echo sound that filled the room, and it felt like Lawrence was in the room, not like a ghost but just "there." It was a magical moment for me.

This is one of the most beautiful and moving videos I have yet seen on TH-cam. I visited the birthplace on my first visit to England some years ago but it breaks my heart think I may never see it in the spring as depicted here (including the walk through the woods.) The judicious use of appropriate and sensitive music is also very effective - less is indeed more sometimes - and augmented by your beautifully voiced and also well placed narration. Wonderful work.

I often walk here. The footpath between Dolmans Hill and Morden is a lovely walk, too. I have a terrible sense of direction and whenever I set out from home with no clear end in view, I end up in Morden, leading to the saying amongst my family and friends: "All roads lead to Morden". It's a lovely place to end up.
