"[…] those things are fantastic if they’re used as the seasoning to life rather than the main course […]" Very, very well said. Your father raised you well.
Here is your symbol of success but the most important thing is not success. It's a Rolex for your success but your success is not in material things, be happy and proud of your wealth and enjoy your experience and self-worth leading to your material things and this Rolex. What a lesson.
I know the feeling, in October 1967 I was in junior high school. My dad was working in Saudi Arabia when his contract was over. He came home and he handed me a Rolex GMT. Can you imagine a father given a kid in junior high school a GMT? Still have it. in the late 1970s my dad gave me the day date on the leather strap and I’ve been wearing Rolex ever since. however I don’t like what I’ve been seeing the past eight years with people that want a Rolex, they don’t know why they want one, but they know they want one and they want to say hey everybody look at me..
My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from AMZWATCH
My father said to me that he is done playing the father role 😅 some of us were born with toxic bad people as parents. Life is not fair. Btw I am his only daughter and child. He was always absent, abusive, aggresive and alcoholic father.
Well what an odd time for this to pop up, I bought a Rolex a month ago and I realized that yes it’s an amazing piece and I thought it WAS a celebration of my success, but the bigger celebration is me knowing that I made it this far after always doubting myself, and I wouldn’t have done it without my dad and my mom. Wear it in good health and thanks for sharing this!
Seasoning for life, I’ll remember that. People tend to say that money doesn’t buy happiness but I feel that there has to be a balance for this kind of thing. If you spend money on both life experiences and material wealth, I think you could come out happy on the other end. But balance is the key word.

Mert egy kis buzi vagy. Egy magamutogató senkiházi csóró kis köcsög. Hány évig fogod fizetni annak a szar vekkernek a részleteit? Csicska.

The few gems that actually celebrate father's day in their heart's rumbling
I wish my father had done that for me. I hope to do it for my children.
Amazing lesson, 5 years after and it shows up on my home page
My dad has just ruined my life
Will buy my first rolex with your father's motive. Good lesson that has been passed by, thanks to your father once again for that lesson.

Submariner is one of the most popular models, however I would have sold it for a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms.

I don't understand the lesson here at all.
Did he give the watch for being his son or for graduating?
The real reason: i wear it because I’m white and i just inherited a lot of money from my dad
wear that so as people know to over charge you is what my father told me... he was rich drove a rusty car to business meetings...
