Valheim | Worlds First and Only No Hit/Food/Rested/Armor/Potions/Magic Very Hard Fader Boss Kill
50 Stamina and a Dream. Can the madman do it?!?!?!
This is probably the craziest Valheim challenge I've done. 10 Queen Very Hard is up there, but this one takes the cake, the absolute degree of perfection required to get a 18 min no buff VH fader kills is insane. One small slip up (and I mean one small slip up) (using 7 stamina to run from meteors instead of 5 can be the difference between life and death) and it's over. Not only is this fight mechanically hard, but in a run like this you have to keep a mental note of all his attacks, the patterns, and the cycles he currently is in. It becomes a lot to keep track of breath, meteors, summons, fissure, and ring of fire. The moment you lose count of what's up next or what's possible next, the chances of you actually succeeding in the run plummet. Every single second of this has to be planned out and executed properly.
I choose 4 primary weapons for this run, as I had to optimize every little bit of damage possible. Greatsword is only used for the opener, past that it's pretty garbage in this setting, simply outclassed by the axes. Axes are by far the highest dps option in melee. General rule is if greater than 34 stamina, 4hit combo is enabled, and if greater than 45 stamina, 6hit combo is allowed. 4Hit combo is also allowed after Faders big side swipe attack assuming greater than 34 stamina after dodge. Crossbows were not used that much in the run, as there was only one situation in this run where it outshined the bow, but trust me when I say it's a great option and tool in this run. Just didn't happen this go around. Bow is used for ranged dps and summons.
That being said, here's a rough break down of all the phases. Full analysis vid is here: ( th-cam.com/video/37baa-OFjI0/w-d-xo.html )
Phase 1:
Pretty standard stuff goin on here. Nothing too ground breaking. 1234 before meteors and 1234 after big swipe given enough stamina.
Phase 2: Ring of fire, nothing special. Saving on stamina by opening up the circle more and not jumping over the flame when possible is a small optimization to be made but a later necessary one.
Phase 3:
Addition of Phase 1 mechanics with 2 new attacks, Fissure and Breath. I only learned this one day before I killed this, and it turned out to be super crucial, but you can back up into Faders chin in the little pocket in between his head and his chest, and by backing up you can trigger his breath attack, which allows the player to get insane damage in. This new mechanic/bait idea allowed me to get a CRUCIAL 6 hit combo down the stretch of this run. Breath has been and still is used in all of my runs as the bridge between his ranged attacks and melee attacks. Fissure is the first mechanic that really tanks dps uptime, yet it allows for some 6hit and 4hit combos.
Phase 4:
This is where the fun begins, and the mental cycles + tracker comes into play. The addition of summons created my first roadblock for this challenge. Part of the growing process was realizing that if a situation ever got out of my control, running away with fissure is a perfectly valid consolidation and can often take care of the situation (the summoned creatures literally will follow you and just walk into the flame and die). In order to be successful in this phase, it's necessary to take care of summons fast, efficiently, and safely, all while still being AGGRESSIVE towards fader and going for every bit of damage possible. It's a really hard place to find balance and requires absolute perfect play.
Phase 5:
This is where things are interesting at AROUND 30%, Fader gets rid of all his cooldowns, and immediately starts a new cycle. His frequency of summons and fissure increases by a lot, and with the growing stress and the wear and tear of gradually losing some bit of control over the fight, this final boost makes the last hump of this challenge crazy hard. If I had to guess, roughly 70% of my attempts ended because of the transition between Phase 4 to 5. You can see the switch up in this video too, he does 2x summons, which is usually a run ending thing, but he summoned them into his own fissure so yea. Got some crucial 6hit and 4hit combos down the line of this run, which pushed me over the hump of this insane phase.
Shoutout to Thread, who kinda coached me through this entire challenge saga (starting from no armor to this craziness), Henrik who was an absolute homie and we could always just have fun together and laugh at stupid memes, and Terra, who made me the player I am today by providing the knowledge and theory to be successful in Valheim. Thank you guys, had loads of fun and it wouldn't have been possible without you three.
Also shoutout to the commenters who kinda egged me on and said hey ya do this without x item or x buff now.

Spur of the moment boss challenge. Pretty cool fight and some interesting scenarios, this was my literal 2nd attempt so there was still some Fader rust but I'm still pretty pleased with how this one went. Faster time and more optimized strategies are definitely obtainable. I personally don't think no food/hit/any other buffs in the game is possible, due to only having 50 stamina and never ever ...

One of the hardest things in gaming I've done. Absolutely crazy. This took a little over 350 attempts and of those 350 attempts, 26 were 1 hit runs, 26 were 2 hit runs, and 72 were 3 hit runs. This definitely took me longer than it should've! Half of the runs I feel were lost to the random bat flying around and RKOing me. Actually one shot this after not seeing adam for a solid 2 weeks or so. Muscle memory is def there. Pretty crazy fight on normal, even crazier on brutal. "Let me solo -her- him" This was a lot of fun and a continuation of my spur of the moment Queen challenge. I don't have the mental for that lol, that'd be crazy if it was even doable. ALSO it'd be so rng dependent, like you can't jump over the ring of fire without a certain level of run/jump skill, summons becomes a massive pain *every single time* and when you can get damage in melee? It's so low and you have to do all of this while trying to outpace his passive regen? Ugh, do not sign me up for this one lol
Even Odin fears you.
He should be afraid! I'm coming for him.

The sheer amount of knowledge and precision in execution that went into this if off the charts! A couple times I found myself saying, "hit him one more time!" and then a few seconds later, "nope, he'd be dead if he had done that. I'd be dead if it were me. Holy hell man. I'm lost for words. I questioned if it was even possible, but you did this on your second try and still beat it at an amazing speed. Im genuinely impressed. Im so excited to see what challenges you do next (maybe like a no food playthrough/boss rush??). I'm here for any of it. I also love this game a lot and would love to js play casually with you sometime if you're down :)
No food playthrough would be next to impossible, you don't passively regen hp, so you'd have to lug around hp meads, but even then you only have a 25hp buffer, alongside 50 stamina, that'd be the *hardest* possible thing you can do in Valheim next to an entirely now hit run. Also I'll probably do some no food Queen attempts, probably won't upload them, but I'll unlist them and maybe send ya a comment or on discord if you have it (my discord is .scales.). Other than that I'm working on a super huge Valheim project atm, but it's not a challenge run, but it's still a good one.

Bro this is abosuletly insane. And I thought your last challenge was already very impressive. If you're up for it though, i think theres one more challenge you can do. Beat fader without using any food. Me and my friend were talking and he really believes that someone will eventually beat the game without using any food at all. I really don't think its possible at all. But I would absolutely love to see you try to beat atleast fader (and maybe some of the bosses) to see if its possible. Obviously you can use any armor/weapons and have meads and rested bonus. But it would basically be like a no hit challenge, but with very little stamina. I have no idea if its possible but I think if anyone can do it its you.
It's 100% possible, just to clarify, I can use all other buffs just no food?
