Great idea. Needs a some help with timing though. I'd suggest going back and listening to SexyBack to get a good feel for it. If you want to use Blurred Lines as the base of the mix, the SexyBack add ins should still be similar to the original so it doesn't sound like it was thrown in randomly. Like in the beginning, "I'm Bringing Sexy Back" line came in about a beat early. Nix the scratches, a mix like this doesn't need it. I'm not professional myself, but I'd suggest using Sexy Back as the backing track. Simple beat, simple rhythms, while feeling like a driving force is still there. Blurred Lines' music is a bit busy for an early JT-solo song which was mostly about the vocals. Robin Thicke is a great vocalist for Blurred Lines. So let his voice speak for itself, and let JT do what he does best. :3 Good Luck!
when I imagined this mashup in my head I was singing "Dirty Dave, see these shackles baby I'm your slave" over Blurred Lines. I guess everyone has their own interpretation but I think he chose right. I do agree that his timing is off, but I think he just messed up with the specific placing of the vocal tracks
Nobody taught me how to do anything. I'm not a "Dj" I'm a producer, the whole scratch thing came about by accident. Any work that you do and you finish you should be proud of. Practicing alone in your bedroom gets you nowhere, you need feedback in order to progress. A lot of people like this "mix", no it's not perfect, but if people like it and it makes them feel good then thats all that matters. I don't have residence at a club, and I don't aspire to be dj. So it doesn't bug me. Thanks though
