Hi, which pants are you recommending? Are they from Didrikson? Many thanks in advance! 🙂
Hey! Yea they are! Any outdoor pants that protect you from the wind and rain will do though! But we’re very happy with Didriksons
Hi bro
Hello!
heading to Iceland next week! thank u for the info!
Amazing! See you soon!
love the video, very useful thank you!! do you have any brand recommendations for the parka??
We use Didriksons and we’re very happy with them! But we also like Icewear, zo-on, 66 north and Mamut!
@ thank you!!
Hey mate! How much if i rent wind pants from your shop?
Hello! That depends how long you’d like to rent them for! We’ve got a handy dandy price calculator on our website icelandcover.com where you can play around with items and dates and it gives you the price in ISK, USD, GBP and AUD!
Mate cant wait to visit your beautiful country this coming mid december 😊 thanks heaps for your tips
No problem 👍
This was great - straight to the point! V helpful thanks
Glad we could help!
Useful video down to the point 👍
Thank you! Glad we could help!
Thank you .. m going next year March. Good tips ..😊
Glad we could help!
Came across this video, just in time for my upcoming visit. Really useful video. Thank you!!
Glad we could help!
Good advice! I'll be in Iceland mid-November and already have some good clothes to take with me. I don't feel the cold much here in the UK, but I am 70 so I'd better be careful and wear some thermals!
We’re glad we could help!
May is the driest month in Iceland. The rainiest is October.
Hello. I’m coming to iceland for 2 weeks in early November but haven’t booked anything. Do you think we’ll still be able to do so in the coming weeks? We’re thinking to rest a day after arrival then join an 8-day tour on iceland guide. We don’t have the proper attire for iceland since we’re from Asia, so I’m so grateful to have found your page. We definitely don’t wanna waste a lot on buying clothes for once. So renting is perfect for us.
Great to hear that you’re coming to our little island! We recommend booking no later than a week in advance. If you do that, we will 100% have clothes for you!
I’m going to Iceland around the same time. I booked the blue lagoon to start, a glacier tour midweek and sky lagoon before going home.
Do you recommend hiring a car in the middle of November? We want to go from Reykjavik to the south coast and Snaefellsnes peninsula
That depends if you have experience driving in snow/ice. The south coast isn’t covered in snow in November, but there could be a day or two when it is You can expect icy conditions but the rental car should have winter tires by then. Don’t be afraid to drive yourself if you have some experience driving in the conditions I mentioned!
great video - love the pitch for rentals! we'll be heading there in October. hoping for good weather!
Glad we could help!
I’m going oct 17-23 thank you!!!
Amazing! Happy to help!
wtf hahaha same exact dates for me too LOL
Oh mighty we are leaving tomorrow 10,14😅😊🎉
GREAT tips!
🙏🙏
Thanks mate for those great tips. Cant wait to visit your country this coming december❤
Amazing! Glad we could help!
I'm going from 17-28 Oct. Still ok to follow what to wear in this vdo or can be more winter wear?
Absolutely! You could also check out the video for November but it’s very similar. Thermals, parka, outdoor pants and good hiking boots. Mid layers on the side should it get windy and you’re all set!
@@icelandcover Cool! Thanks so much.
Any outdoor outfits rental in KEF airport?
Sadly not! Maybe one day!
Are microspikes mandatory for some hikes in October? Or would you say they're not needed?
Most of the time you won’t need them in October. It’s best to check once you arrive. This will also depend on the hike. Will you be going into the highlands for example? Are you crossing a glacier? And such things
@@icelandcover Okay thank you!
Going end of Oct. Will wear layers whilst out and about/hiking. Would a baselayer be needed when only going to a restaurant?
And if you do go into a restaurant while wearing layers, how do you not overheat? Start peeling off clothes? I can't picture eating while wearing thermal underwear, heavy socks, boots, a sweater, and outer shells on my torso and legs. I think I might wait until I get there, go to a local shop, and rent stuff. I live in Houston. I don't need cold weather gear as a possible one-time purchase. Those items aren't cheap, especially when you get into Gore-Tex and merino wool.
Hello! When you’re in the city you won’t need a lot of layers. If you’re wearing a parka then all you’ll need is basic clothes underneath. Unless you plan on walking around a lot. Then thermals might be a good choice so you don’t have to take off all the clothing when going into stores. But you don’t have to over think it when you’re in the city
Exactly. Which is why we recommend only wearing the parka. That way you can get away with wearing only 1 layer underneath. A sweater or thermals. Just take off the parka and you’re good to go!
100th like! You are welcome 😊
🙏🙏
Thank you.
Happy to help!
We will be going this October, I needed this video. Thanks for all the information and greetings from Costa Rica.
Wonderful! Happy to help!
coming in sept 2024, what is the weather shaping ups like?
Hard to say as always. However this summer has been pretty bad. Cold, cloudy and windy. So we see no reason why September should be any different. However, you never know! Just prepare for the worst and hope for the best!
Thank you! This was very helpful!
Glad we could help!
What outdoor pants do you recommend? Like waterproof?
It depends on the brand. But Gore-tex or similar is always a good starting point! Just make sure that they breathe!
Thank you! This was very informative and helpful. I appreciate that you broke it down specifically for August. We visiting for the first time in a couple of weeks!
Glad we could help!
Great tips! ✍ water ✍ proof ✍ always ✍
Always!
We went on a cruise with 5 days in Iceland. I give a thumbs up for everything he said, wide range of weather. Some people came from Hawaii and were not prepared, shorts and Jean jacket . They got sweatshirts in the cruise ship store. I froze just watching them.
Shorts and jean jacket definitely not recommended as outdoor gear in Iceland!
Thanks for the tips. Do jeans still fit in some areas for Aug/Sept or no?
Yes of course! But we don’t recommend that you go on your daily excursions wearing just jeans. They are not the best when they get wet and they don’t keep you warm
Thermal underwear +outer layers =good times in Iceland
Well, that was quick and super helpful.
Wonderful! That’s what we’re going for!
Thank you. Coming to Iceland for a little more than 48 hours and encountering 3 different climates during our vacation so I definitely need to narrow down what I MUST bring.
Glad we could help!
hello, Can i get your email, I would like to reach to you with some questions. Im coming in september and i'd like to be sure for some stuff, if it's okay with you
Bro the sun ☀
☀️☀️
Will come to Iceland 22nd of July ☺️
Amazing!
My ADHD brain really appreciated how concise and to-the-point you were 😄 thanks for the tips!
Thank you very much! That’s our goal! No fluff and straight to the point!
Undoubtedly, it gives me much better understanding before incoming Iceland trip. Thank you so much, for this very needed for me video! All the best :D
Fantastic! Glad we could help!
Waiting for your september edition! Thanks for your dedication so far
It’ll be up in just a few days!
Wow , thanks for sharing . So excited for my July trip 1-7 .
Happy to help!
Thanks! We will come to Iceland in 17th of July, so your information is very helpful💕
Amazing! Glad we could help!
Perfect information. I'm coming in early August.
Wonderful! See you then!
Thanks for the video! I'll leave for Iceland tomorrow and I have merino wool clothes (socks, shirt, t-shirt, leggings) in my backpack, also a hiking leggings, rain pant, fleece pullover, fleece jacket, rain/wind jacket, softshell jacket, gloves, beanie. Clothes in my middle sized case: two more hiking pants, jeans, pullover, (three) t-shirts, undies, more hiking socks, hiking boots. I'll wear jeans, Doc Martens and a shirt when I'll arrive and I'm glad I could put lots of warm clothes into my backback to wear them when I leave the airport. I think I'm well prepared. I don't think I'll need the t-shirts often, but it doesn't harm to have them.
Fantastic! It seems you’ll be ready for anything!
Great video, this is perfect for some friends and I going at the end of July! Any camping suggestions or really anything cool outdoors to do, flying into Keflavik and getting a Dacia Duster.
Sure thing! Camp in the west fjords and the north, you won’t regret it. We rent camping gear as well, so that’s something to check out. By camping you can do some cool hikes since you don’t have to travel the entire fay to get to them. Make sure to pick up a pamphlet or ask for advice when you pick up the car. Buy the groceries at Bonus and Kronan, they are the cheapest super markets in Iceland. We’ve written a few blogs about camping in Iceland. You can find them at the bottom of our website!
Going to travel Iceland in July
Wonderful! See you in Iceland!
