Glory Daze Motorcycle Show 2024 - A Face-Melting Barrage of Bikes!
I am back at Glory Daze Motorcycle Show in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the 2024 edition. Wow, did they ever step their game up this year! There's a new venue this time around, the Pittsburgh Brewing Company, with even more space and (incredibly enough) even more bikes inside!
Get ready for over forty minutes of mind-warping custom motorcycles - everything from survivor choppers to sidecar racers to bikes that are over 100 years old! There's something for everybody here, and I've done up a mix-tape to go along with it. Grab a snack, sit back and prepare to take a long, strange trip :)
There were so many bikes this year that I couldn't make each it's own chapter - I did write down who & what are in each chapter, though. LMK if I spelled anything wrong!
Once again, many thanks to Kurt and Alexa for setting up the show; to all the volunteers and staff for making sure everything goes smoothly, to the builders for bringing along their most prized possessions, and finally, to everyone who attends and makes this show one of the best around!
P.S. Apologies if I missed your bike this year, I dropped my camera! Causing a few files to get corrupted :( I needed a better autofocus lens anyhow....

It handles about as well as you'd expect - ct70 micro chopper
I'm gonna hop on this here 1970's Honda Trail 70 that's all done up like a minature chopper and give it the old POV spin around the block I'll tell ya these newer GoPro's with the motion smoothing would make a supercross race POV look like a boring ride to the store. That's why it's difficult to appreciate the sheer terror and thrill of riding this Honda CT70 (aka Dax) micro chopper at a breakn...
BMW Airhead Oil Changes are Hilariously Overcomplicated
I've done a good bit of work on BMW airheads, but I wouldn't call myself an expert. I've gone about as far as possible into the airhead engine as there is to go, but I haven't worked on every single variation that is out there.... and there are a lot! People tend to group the whole lot of models (perhaps as many as forty) into one big cuddle puddle we like to call 'airheads', however there were...
CB750F Cafe Racer Suspension Upgrade (mistakes were made!) - CB750 EP02
It's time to do to do the wheel and suspension upgrade on my 1975 Honda CB750F Supersport Cafe Racer project! Featuring Ohlins rear shocks and a Yamaha R6 fork swap along with custom CNC machined triple trees and wheels from Cognito Moto. It has been a busy spring at the day job but I found some time, here and there, to finish up this video. Sorry for the wait :) First off, I had tires put on t...
Is Building Custom Bikes Worth It?? My Next High-Dollar Build - CB750 EP01
I'm an idiot with very little self control. I already have two large ongoing projects, the CT70 Dax Micro-Chopper, and the recently begun custom frame build for that free Suzuki GS750. So why did I go and spend a big chunk of money on a bunch of parts for yet another motorcycle? Because when a good deal comes up, you gotta sit down and think about your priorities. I know that the two projects l...
I cut my motorcycle in half! Suzuki GS750 Custom Build
What better use for a free Suzuki GS750 that was pulled out of a literal barn than to cut it in half to build my first custom motorcycle frame? Now, I've done plenty of modifying stock frames, from cafe racer seat hoops to new subframe and rear suspension pickups, but I've never gone as far as what you'll witness today. The only pieces of the factory frame I'll be using are the original neck tu...
Lever Perches from Scratch - Trail70 Chopper
Not much to say here! I finally fabricated the remaining bits needed to test ride my Honda CT70 chopper project. These included mounts for the clutch and brake lever, modifying the handlebars I made to use the factory internal throttle, and a few custom-made cables (since they need to be way longer than the stock pieces!) This vid is a bit more chill than usual. No music, very little verbage, a...
Glory Daze Motorcycle Show 2023 - No talkin' just HOT BIKES!

There were so many rad bikes at Glory Daze in Pittsburgh, PA this year, that I couldn't pick just a few to focus on like we've done in years past. Instead, enjoy a twenty-five minute montage of nothing but sick shots of sick bikes. What's your favorite bike in the show? LMK in the comments. Many thanks to Kurt and Alexa for setting this whole show up every year; to their squad of homies who mak...

Nice bikes, but probably only a few are ridden.
Great video brother! Best one out on the show so far!!
Thanks man! Dug all the cool little details on your bike!
Sweet video my dude!
This was the best motorcycle show I’ve ever been to. Well worth the +500 ride to PGH. Thank you guys for putting on such a rockin’ event. I can’t freaking wait until next year.
Glad you're back filming Rich.👍
Thanks! Summer vacation was nice but I'm ready to get back to it
I just came across you video, as I was searching for a solution to my problem. My R100R has a lithium battery in it and the battery dies randomly during a ride out. After jump starting it multiple time it works again. But then it happens again super randomly. Do you thing this EDL would fix that problem? Or might there be a different issue with my bike? Great video... Thanks for that! Cheers from austria!
Thanks! Electrical issues are tough to diagnose, especially on the internet. It's hard to say definitively if this charging system with solve your battery issue. It could! Lithium batteries prefer to be charged at a slightly lower voltage than lead acid batteries, but your issue could stem from a parasitic power drain, an intermittent ground connection, or any other number of issues. I'd check the cheap problems first before spending big money on something like this. Hope that helps!
Wonderful job man. Fantastic fab work!
Noice😇
why
But where can I get one?
it's a one of one, sad to say.
Why? Awfull
I have no idea about motorcycles nor do I consider myslef crafty in terms of motorcycles or cars. But this is impressive and looks super nice. If I ever get a motor licence I will surely try to get my hands on such a bike to ride. Well done.
wonderful video! do you know if the parts / flowchart is the same for my 1992 r100gs bumble bee?
it should be but don't quote me on it :)
I wish mine started this easy 😅
Think you would have been safer to measure the canister depth and done the calculation for the correct number of shims. Ive done a few and found a couple that were wrong . I don't think a dealer bothers when the do a service .Also its best to only fill the oil half way between max and min on the dip stick , if you fill it to max the crank case breather will just get rid of some through the airlines and carbs .A great video my comments are only through long expanse with aitheads hope they are helpfull.
cheers! you're probably right, but it's been working thusfar
*_Wowwwwwwwwww._* (sincerely)
*If the kickstart keeps slipping, what's the likeliest cause?*
hello! very good video explaining how to do it. I have the same model of motorcycle and I would like to know how you managed to remove the battery as well as how to connect things that work at 12v, you would help me a lot in my project since I can't find how to do it anywhere. thank you!
Thanks for the videos! I have chrono classic from Motogadget, everything seems to be connected correctly. Does the analog lever calibrate each time you turn on the motorcycle? My lever doesn't show any movement.
There’s some very clever and talented people around from paint to metal and everything in between, excellent video Thank you.
That is one sexy beast. Love it 👍👍
What headlight bucket is that?
It's from LSL
what's up rich. these classic soul tracks are making for a fine film experience
Please send a nice bobber, in Athens, Greece.....i will wait🎉...
Guapísima !!!
can anyone please give a make and module for them carburettors, i have a 1979 Honda cb750k with a set on it that need work.
Not gonna lie, you moved way too quick through reconnecting the two carb half’s together. That’s the hardest part and in my opinion you should’ve spent more time on that area or atleast slowed it down so people could actually see what you are doing
Turning obsolete touring bikes into fun urban coffee shop bikes is better than scrapping them, and losing as much weight as practical improves the rather weak power to weight ratio. Don't worry about purists because they're so old the last will be dead in ten years. The only Airheads worth saving are the ancient roller bearing bikes and real S models. BTW for those who don't know you can bolt on earlier kick start gearboxes as the Airheads have high interchangeability.
I found a 1979 honda cb750 in perfect running condition at $2850 do you think it's fare price with 17xxx miles ?
Honestly that seems pretty high to me but bike prices might be higher where you live. I wouldn't go over 2k for a dohc cb750 unless it was in exceptional condition.
Could you not press out the stock GS stem and press it into the GSXR lower tree? I did that when I swapped the front on my Bandit.
Oh how artsy!
That’s surely a beautiful machine and well maintained. Didn’t understand some of the things that you said but I’m not a biker. Just an engineer. Enjoy your rides an hopefully you’ll not have too many breakdowns.
I have 1969 xlh900
Complimenti!
I intalled the exactly same set, but my bike still not keep the Yuassa battery, do you have idea why can be?
Electrical can be tough to diagnose. Try testing each connection to make sure it is working correctly and plugged into the right spot.
I understand completely what you mean about the process
a job well done is it's own reward. cheers!
Sexy
Awesome.!!! I have a 1985 Armstrong mt500 that feels the same way about life, I'll start when I'm good and ready..lol
What was the thing you took out of the fridge? I presume that was to shrink it for a tight fit...
That's correct. That's a reed-valve style crankcase breather.
Every time, closer to success 🎉
You destroyed a beautiful motorcycle. Go get another tattoo or something and leave these beautiful old bikes to people that have the sense to appreciate them . Air Head is supposed to refer to the engine .
lol that airhead line is pretty good, I'll remember that one. Thanks for the feedback. It's just stuff.
nice build!! im looking for those exact grips, i think they make it look so good
Thanks! They're Oury brand grips
Hope you're doing great! :) Just a lil feedback, the change on audio from listening talking to the bike was very hard, maybe it's me being a sissy, anyhow, your videos are super high quality and I appreciate them very much :D Keep doing your thing ma'man!
Appreciate the feedback! I'm still pretty new to this whole thing so I am bound to make mistakes here and there. Getting good audio (especially in a shop environment) has been an ongoing lesson. Thanks for watching!
Good choice of music too
Great work and amazing shots
Cheers!
Where did you get new choke butterfly screws?
They’re typical metric screws (m3 I think) so most hardware stores should carry them. Get plated or stainless ones so yours don’t rust.
That looks awesome!
The rectifier you bolted in there... aren't those cooling fins and shouldn't they be out in the open air? Curious... wondering where to mount mine.
That's where the manufacturer designed it to mount, so I assume they took it's position into account. (I don't have any ties to eme or enduralast) The cover does block airflow, but is vented to open air, at least. We haven't had any problems with it.
Love your shop
Thanks. One of these days I wanna do a shop tour video
