Can the same route be borrowed by two different players by placing two different color stations on two cities connected by that route?
Hi! Yes.
Thanks for your explanation, I have a couple of question about the station rule. 1. I know I can build the station even if there is no train on the route adjacent, however can I use the station to the route without any train claimed? 2. in case of having a signle route between A and B city, player 1 builds a station on A, player 2 builds a station on B city, can they both use the same route at the end of the game together?
Thanks! 1. What do you mean "train claimed"? 2. Yes
@nrebelo83 I mean "can I use my station to the route where no one claimed?, in other words, empty route."
@@강병규-u6d It seems that something isn't clear in the rules for you. You can place a train station, in your turn, in any city on the map; You only assing the stations to routes at the end of the game. To get all the beneficts os train stations the route has to have trains on it. If not, the train station is useless. One single route can have two stations. One per city.
@@nrebelo83 gotcha. That's what I was not cleared. So there must be train on routes if I want to use my station at the end of the game. My friend insisted that he wanted to use his station for the route having no train at the end of the game, as he had to connect but no time no train enough he had.
@@강병규-u6d The point of the game it's to place trains. The Train stations it's only to help you get more tickets done, by claiming routes that you don't have.
What if when withdrawing from the deck, the second card is a locomotive? I know, the player can't take that locomotive but can it draw a second card still to end with two from that turn?
Hi! You can take 2 cards face-up, except if you choose a locomotive card. But, when you blind draw you'll take that card to your hand. It doens't matter if is a locomotive. So if you choose to take your two cards from the deck, and you have luck, you could get two locomotives.
If you use a train station will you get points from the line you “borrow”
Is this a question?
I looked through the comments and I don't think my question is already answered. When I use a station on an empty route (or maybe a players route), do I count any points for me? It seems pretty clear that it shouldn't count because people would use the 8 space route and collect 21 points with a station, while only losing 4 for using a station. But still, it doesn't clarify that on the manual. Thanks a million!!
Hi! I didn't understand your doubt. What do you mean by "would use 8 space route and collect 21 points?" Placing a station in a city, near an empty route, doesn't mean that route belongs to you. You'll need to actually place your locomotives to win those points. When you place a train station in a city you'll use that little route to try to complete a ticket. Doing that, you win the points for that ticket. But if by placing a station you don't complete any ticket in your hand, you won't score points.
@@nrebelo83 it doesn't matter if you didn't understand it because you answered exactly my question! Thanks man, now I know!
@@kateriniotis9 WoW! Nice!
Just played a learning game last night. We missed a couple scoring opportunities, but we're very close to playing correctly. Thanks for the video, it will help me remember some rules next time!
You are welcome.
The most complete explanation I saw for these themes ;) thank you!
Thanks!
the rules don't seem that ambiguous. gather and trades must be performed, upgrade and bonus are not mandatory. This makes sense from design, as the latter two actions are the most competitive / contested so being able to block them for free is reasonable. The gather engines are fragile and expensive, so blocking them arbitrarily seems overly punishing.
Great video. Totally clears it up
at 7:11 you mean that I can use my real money in my wallet to have extra coins right ? and not from the resources ? ( and for the rest thank you very much you explain it all pretty well :)
Hi! What I mean was: in the rare case that de coins tokens from the game run out, you can use some other thing that you have to replace them. Of course that can be your true coins.
@@nrebelo83 thanks i understand it's been a while already i got the metal coins upgrade so i have the regular coins as backup
If there is a locomotive face up but you take a different face up card first, and then the card you replace it with is a locomotive, can you take that locomotive card for your second card?
Hi @GregScott! You can´t choose that locomotive card as your second card.
Do trains on routes from other players covered by our train station contribute to counting wagons towards European Express card?
Hi! You only count your own trains for the purpose of the European Express card.
When can you decide which window you're going to use? Can you keep 1 window and pick the side you want after the objectives and tools have been revealed? Or do you have to choose a side before the objectives and tools have been revealed?
Sorry. I didn't received notifications for your comment. In the base game the rules say that you have to choose the window pattern card before the objectives. But if you want a more challenging game you could choose after.
What about a situation like the one at 3:33 but there are two players with stations at either end of a single train from a third player. Which of the two players gets to use the train?
Hi! I'll say both. In that case both players will use the third player's line.
Super helpful video! One question, when drawing cards, if the first card I take is from the deck (a standard color), then the replacement card from the draw pile is a locomotive card is this able to be picked up as my second card or can I only pick a standard color card?
Hi. No, you can´t pick that locomotive card. You have to pick another card, if you want, as your second card. If you choose to make a blind draw for your first card, and you get a locomotive you may draw another card that turn. Lucky you!
These videos are so helpful, hope you make more!
Thanks. I'll try to do more.
Hello guys i have a question when you play with 3 players are you still allowed to use the stations ?
Hi. Yes you can.
What if two players want to claim the same route? Is this possible? Let's say that player 1 has placed train carts on the route connecting Petrograd and Moscow. Player 2 has a train station on Petrograd. Player 3 has a train station on Moscow. Can player 2 and 3 both claim the route at the end of the game?
Yes, they can.
For then economy progress token, it sounds like you don’t get any coins if your opponent spends coins on building non-resource cards such as military, culture or science. Is that correct?
Olá Gabriel! With that token, you receive all the coins that your opponent spends to buy resources (trading action). But if he spends coins to build, those coins still go to the reserve.
I still don’t understand the tunnels
When you show it on the board it makes sense imediately, on the digital version it's hard to notice how the train goes under the piece.
Thanks.
If I roll the dice and throw 2 of red goods, can I use wildcard goods token (brown box) to get a mosque tile that needs 3 red goods?
This is a very good video! I have question, when the draw pile is depleted, does the pile have to be replenished before the next persons turn? He says he can take his turn anyway because he does not need to draw and is going to put cars on the board. Then I say I don't need to draw cause I have enough cards to make play on board. How far can this go on?
Hello. Since you have to replace cards after drawing one, I would say to shuffle the discard pile and make a new draw pile. Thanks
Best rules video, especially the station rules. Tks
Thanks. If you want subscribe and share it with the world!
Thanks for the clarifications. Played it wrong yesterday, but now will give it another shot and will see if my son can beat me again with the correct rules lol.
Go ahead and good luck! Thanks
This is a great vid for those having familiarity with Cent:NW.
Thanks!
To build the second station you need 2 of a kind, three of a kind for the third station, and locomotives may be used as wilds
That's correct.
nicee video, keep up the good work :)
Thanks
Very nicely explained. Thank u.
Thanks.
3:41
At 3:31 you seem to imply that the two players cannot both choose the same route of the double routes for their respective stations; however, as I understand it, they could: it would make no difference. Any route (R) between two cities (A and B) built by player 1 is SHARED by players 1, 2, and 3 as long as player 2 has a station at city A and player 3 has a station at city B and both players 2 and 3 both move their respective stations to cover R. In other words, what you can do with your station(s) is never affected or limited by what another player does with their station(s).
Hello. I was reading about what you said. I believe you are right. Thanks
Thank you for your explanations, it's really helpful! Just one question about the tunnel, for example I want to build a tunnel between Paris and Zurich which requires 3 cards, but I use 2 Yellow cards and 1 locomotive card, if 1 of the cards I draw from the pile is locomotive, I need to add 1 more Yellow card or 1 more locomotive card to complete the tunnel construction? Hope you understand my question. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for your words. You're right, one locomotive or a yellow card
Thanks

How do you gain a mosque tile ? Let's say I want to get the 3 lira tile and it costs 3 yellows, can I aquire that tile by getting 3 fruit symbols on my dice or do I need to discard 3 goods of that type ?
Hello. You can do both or even mix both. ex. a) 2 fruits on the dice + 1 fruit good tile; b) 3 fruits with good tiles; c) 3 fruits on the dice;
@@nrebelo83 Thanks for the answer, played it that way 😁
I'm sorry that there are all these errors.
sorry but there is also an error in the explanation of the diagonals of the objective, the diagonals have not been counted twice, the points are 12 and not 14!
Yes, there are 12 points. 4 Yellow (2-3-1-2), 3 Red (3-5-5) 3 Blue (3-1-1) and 2 green (4-2). The tool instruction says "Diagonal Adyacents", so you are right.
card number 4 clearly says IN THE RESERVE, so it doesn't go where you indicate in the right example?
The tool number 4 doesn't say anything about the order. Which example are you talking about? Tell me the minute of the video where your doubt is.
@@nrebelo83Hi! From 3:35 to 3:46 you return the dice to the round track, but the tool card says you have to return it to the "reserve" (set of choosing) for letting it available to the other players.
@@KennethChile That´s True! Thanks
hello, excuse a question but in the card number 4, if the number that comes from the die that I have withdrawn I cannot enter it, I have to put it in the supply, so at the end of that round I do not put the remaining die in the supply? otherwise I would have put and? right?
Hello. I'm not getting your idea. Are you really talking about the tool nº 4?
Thank you for this. 👍👍 Tunnel is so hard to understand.
Yes, they are. Thanks for your words. I hope that you enjoy the channel.
Hi, What if, Player 1 has a station at Barcelona and Player 2 has a station at Marseille. End of the game Player 1 takes the route Barcelona towards Marseille. Is Player 2 able to take the same route as Marseille towards Barcelona? Annnnnd how is it decided that which player starts first to count the points at end of the game? Thanks!
Hello. Yes, player 2 could choose the same route. For check the player's ticket is not necessary an specific order. Why you say that? What am I not getting?
@@nrebelo83 My bad, i just confused myself.. thk u for replying 🙂
@@thiruruu3789 You're welcome
Can 2 players claim the same single route with their stations if they have stations on the opposite cities?
Hello! I don't know if I fully understood what you meant. But, one single route can only be claim by one player.
Thank you for explaining the stations. I was struggling to understand how it would work in the gameplay when reading the rules, and now I think it will be easier to utilize them in the future!
I'm happy to hear that. Thanks
I have a question! If you have a tile that says get a red good if you use the "get 2 lira", and if you have another one that says to get a blue good if you use the action "get 2 lira", do you get one red and one blue for each "get lira" action die or one per die? This keeps coming up and don't know if one die could give you both a red and a blue or not.
Hello! I believe you earn the goods as many times as you made the "get 2 liras "action. In your turn you have at least 2 actions so, in your example, you'll receive 2 red and 2 blue goods. Is the type of action that matters and not the number of dice.
Thanks for explaining. I have one question after this: At 5:45 you pay up two locos to build the tunnel. And you pull one loco card from the deck. Do you now have to pay another loco card to complete the tunnel?
Hello. You're welcome. Yes, you have to pay another locomotive card in that example.
would you please elaborate on this statement, "if there are any cards on the deck when you attempting to build a tunnel, you won't pay any extra cost. in other words does that mean there is no addional charge if a matching card is not drawn from the 3?
You can have any number of cards in your hand. So, in a rare situation all cards could be in the hand of all players. In that rare case there isn't any cards to draw from, so you won't pay anything more for the tunnel construction.
@@nrebelo83, good to know thank you very much. Merry Xmas.
@@nrebelo83 , does that also mean that if you do not draw a corresponding coloured train to the ones in your hand that you do not have to pay extra either?
@@danigliano1 Yes. You only pay if you draw a card with the same color or a locomotive card.
@@nrebelo83, so you can still claim the tunnel even if you don't have to pay extra?
the question i have about tunnels is this, what if when you are drawing the 3 additional train cards to see if a matching card appears, thereby requiring you to pay the additional card but no matching card comes up, does that mean you are still able to claim the tunnel or you must return the cards to your hand?
Hi! Yes, you can claim the tunnel. The cards would return to your hand if you have to pay extra cards of a given color, but you don´t have any.
Thank you so much!! So well explained, and completely cleared up my confusion especially regarding the stations. I’m ready to get back to this newly discovered game…
Thank you!
Thanks for rules review, but I still have a question, I would like to ask for advice. If in a bone icon location, there are already 3 white workers. And the blue has 2 native bone icon -1 cards, can we use 2 blue workers to drive out the white workers?
Yes you can, see the 01:38 minute.
Oops Thank you so much!!!
We just play it by putting the station over the trains right away. works the same way. have never run into a situation where first putting it in a city makes any difference.
That has a problem. Imagine that 3 players want to use the same opponent route. In the way you are playing, that can happen, but following the rules, it shouldn't. An opponent route only can have 2 other player stations.
@@nrebelo83 never ran into that issue.
@@jenienh.7764 Because the rules say you can't construct more than one train station per city and the placing of the station on a route, occurs at the end of the game, not in the middle. :-)
@@nrebelo83 How is it decided who gets to claim the route with their station first?
thanks for the rules clarification for this underrated game (I prefer the Golem edition though). For the places that allow upgrading cubes, can you upgrade multiple gems or just 1 gem multiple times?
Thanks! This is one of my favourite games as well. You can only upgrade the number of times as the number of grey cubes/gems. But you can do those "moves" in different cubes/gems. So, you can upgrade multiple cubes/gems or spend all "moves" in one cube/gem, respecting the number of upgrade moves showed in the space you visited.
