Garmin 650 Dual G5 GAD29 KAP140 GPS approach. Approach is the GPS RNAV LPV runway 20 at Patrick Henry airport. VMC conditions with safety pilot. The new dual G5 set up is for attitude and heading. Airspeed and altitude on those displays are for reference only and the pitot static system is to be used for primary gauges. Through the menu, you can turn your bottom G5 into an identical PFD. That would be triple redundant since you already have a vacuum system attitude indicator along with the upper G5 attitude indicator. Please note that the airspeed is generally lower on the G5 by 6 to 9 knots when compared to the airspeed indicator. GPSS functionality has been restored on the lower G5. Please note that the order in which you enable approach output: first ensure the auto pilot is engaged and heading mode, you will get a flashing message on the Garmin 650 saying “enable approach output,” then go into the lower G5 Menu and select GPSS. At that point your KAP140 auto pilot is using heading commands from the Garman 650 through the G5 to properly fly the magenta line. At this point you can select approach on the KAP140. If you’re watching closely APR will arm and then activate. As soon as it activates glideslope GS will arm. Since you are likely flying in vertical speed or altitude hold for your vertical mode, once the aircraft is on the vertical profile, glideslope will Activate and become the primary vertical mode. A power reduction at that point is necessary to avoid accelerating. On an approach in both Shenandoah airport and Patrick Henry airport the Glideslow was perfect using auto pilot and it held left of the lateral path by about 400 feet. It was still within tolerance to be able to break out at minimum’s and safely land in both cases.

Why wouldn't you repair the chip before applying PPF
Take the g5s, the gi's are overloaded. You get all other stuff more clear on your pad.
Are you pleased with the G5s? They looks very nice and easy. Im debating G5 vs GI275.
It is amazing how much simpler the workflow is with a GFC 500 autopilot. Adding the GFC 500 would simplify the workflow dramatically. The are expensive, but the improved integration along with the envelope protection is well worth the extra cost. Thanks for sharing.
As a Corvette driver I’ve never understood how someone could consider tinting the windows on ANY Drivers car…. Great for car show and garage queens but not for a serious Driver…. IMHO

Actually, the main Reason I ceramic coated my PPF was more to protect it from the suns UV rays. Here in FL the suns what will ultimately shorten PPFs lifetime.
Red Mist Metallic is a beautiful color in a garage, at night or on a cloudy day and was the color of my original build. Then I saw one in the bright sunlight and saw how the metallic turned to hues of yellow, orange and gold. I hated that and changed my build. This is just my opinion. Enjoy your ride!

How did you decide on Kamikaze? I've never heard of it. I just watched their videos and it seems like a great product. I don't care about the cost if it's a superior product. Any thoughts about it would be appreciated.
I saw a shop I respected used it exclusively. During my research it appeared to be a product that was easy to remove (high spots) on application. For as many cars as we did, I wanted ease of use so we didn’t screw up someone’s paint. To date I’ve only left high spots on two cars. And both were black. It’s A LOT of work to remove high spots.

When you apply a product you have a certain amount of time to remove it. It is basically liquid glass suspended in water. When the alcohol flashes away what is left behind is the hardened glass. Each product is different. Miyabi is about 10-12 minutes. ISM 2.0 is only 1-3 minutes. If you fail to remove it all it will rainbow permanently. That requires machine abrasion to remove. Center of a panel? Not terrible. Inside a door handle recess? Almost impossible.
Red Mist looks 1000x better than Torch Red!
Its a very rich color and has some color shift to it. Would be a tough choice between the two but light blue is still my fave

What's the exact brand / type of CERAMIC coating on the red car?
The windshield tint, how far down can the tint strip go without blocking the PDR camera? I am going to have mine tinted the same % as you.
There’s a little bitch for the PDR cutout of the black mirror area. You should tint up into there. Won’t affect PDR. Will reduce glare. If you stop at the natural line straight across it may look funny. Don’t do that.

Hello, how long should I wait after applying ppf to apply the ceramic over ppf?
No wait is needed.
I would say, if DIY, specialty coating can be applied after tacking down the edges on next day, inspecting work/rework/correction, and then a car wash to remove any installation solution residue and the typical debris before applying a long term coating.

Which color looks better in person
My wife and I go back-and-forth on that question. Both colors look absolutely spectacular with the C8 lines. I would say that the red mist in a bright sunlight: it’s hard to beat. The way the metallic flecks sparkle in the sunlight is gorgeous. The torch red however looks brilliant in all sunlight or shade lighting. Whereas the red mist tends to pick up a bit of a purpleish hue and lacks the spectacular punch in shady situations. One downside to torch red is at night or in yellow halogen street light lighting conditions it picks up an orange look.

i think soul red is a ruby red while red mist has an orange tint to it.
