Dane Family Travels
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 24 มิ.ย. 2020
My family is coming close to embarking on a new adventure as a family.
The mountains call us every weekend for us to explore, finding
undiscovered areas and finding new limits in ourselves. We hope to inspire families
to explore the outdoors and find new limits in yourself and grow as a family.
Adventure in ones self is a way to discover what you are capable of.
The true adventurer goes forth
aimless and uncalculated to meet
and greet unknown fate.
Wheeler Trail leading to Wheeler Geologic Area, Creede Colorado
This a long trail (24 miles) that we took to Wheeler Geologic Area. The area was absolutely stunning! We spent a good half a day driving there and spent a few hours exploring the area. After making lunch we headed back to Creede. If you are in the area this is a must do!

มุมมอง 6364 ปีที่แล้ว
We took a day trip up to Peak 8 in Breckenridge. The gondola ride is free to go up and walk around. Once up there due to COVID there were only a few things open. We did the Alpine slide and Alpine roller coaster. Kids had a great time! If in Breck be sure to swing by Peak 8 for something different!!
Mountain Biking near Breckenridge Colorado
มุมมอง 834 ปีที่แล้ว
Took the kids up Boreas Pass outside of Breckenridge for some mountain biking. We combined a few trails that took us from Boreas pass to downtown Breckenridge. We took Boreas Pass to Bakers Tank Trail, its a single track, rocky trail with a lots of roots. From there we connected to Aspen Allen, it's a smooth and fast trail that was a lot of fun with some cool old mines to check out along the way...
Million Dollar Highway, Ouray to Durango
มุมมอง 1374 ปีที่แล้ว
We left Ouray and headed to Durango with no planned stops along the way. 11 miles from Ouray we turned off the highway to explore Idarado Mine. There is an old homestead here, the mine, and excellent views of Red Mountain. From this point we headed south and turned off onto a 4X4 road for Clear Lake, bring a pole because you can fish in this alpine lake. We went onto Durango from here and stopp...
Engineer Pass, Colorado
มุมมอง 7834 ปีที่แล้ว
Family left from Lake City Colorado and took Engineer Pass into Ouray. The Trail was not too technical until the last 5 miles before US 550. Many spots to stop along the way to explore. Waterfalls, wildflowers, old mining towns and old mines. It took us a full day to do the pass with all the stopping to get out and explore. Would defiantly do this trail again! Next time drop into Silverton inst...

A day trip with the family to Bear Creek Reservoir in Morrison Colorado. We made sure to stop at Surf' SUP first (say hi to Mindy and Nathan) to pickup paddleboards! Awesome shop with amazing customer service, you cant lose by going there. Paddled around the main reservoir. Soda Lake was too packed to enjoy peaceful family time. So if you are there be sure to check out the main reservoir if Sod...
Kelty Discovery Low Cot Review
มุมมอง 4.1K4 ปีที่แล้ว
We purchased the Kelty Discovery Low Cot from REI. Kids wanted an upgrade from their sleeping pads. Overall highly recommend, took them out this past weekend and kids LOVED sleeping on them. They fit their Kelty sleeping bags perfectly. They said best sleep they have received since we started camping years ago. I do agree with other users that it is difficult to snap into place. Hopefully after...

Tacoma at Rat Creek Creede,CO
มุมมอง 1614 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a quick little video of Rat Creek Trail in Creede, Colorado. Amazing drive with some technical spots on the top for 4x4's because of some wash out but passable. Beautiful drive and spectacular views. Hope you enjoy!

Dane Family Travels / Great Sand Dunes
มุมมอง 884 ปีที่แล้ว
The Great Sand Dunes are another of Colorado's great locations to explore, hiking, 4wheeling, sand boarding and more. BLM land 15 minutes south offered some free camping off Mt. Blanca Rd. and if your up to it the road leads to a nice hike up one of Colorado's 14'ers.
Thanks, great video!
This video came in useful in 2024. That’s for posting and keeping it up on TH-cam!
How long was your hike from the car was park.
I live in Pagosa Springs, i want to do this on my duel sport bike. 😊
Nice! Thanks for sharing. We were there in August of 2020. I want to go back and explore that old cabin. What a treasure!
Thank you! Borrowed this and needed it in a pinch! Thanks for the instructions!!
Nice video. Would you have had any issues with clearance without a lift or bigger tires? Some places looked a little rugged.
When we arrived at the end of the trail there was a Jeep Renegade in the trailhead parking lot. I'm sure it was a very slow ride for them and sketchy in spots but they were not on the side of the road on our way back out. I would not have recommended it to them but in a stock truck you'll be fine. It's a bumpy ride but it was worth the drive.
@@danefamilytravels5290 Thanks! Heading there first week of Oct - weather permitting…
I love mine it’s comfortable and with a sleeping pad it’s even better
How do you break it down apart? This cot’s legs are crazy difficult to close
With one hand push down on the black plastic handle and with the other hand remove the metal latch. When pushing down on the black handle I taught my kids to push down in a motion like CPR, (quick, strong push). The legs do get easier the more you use it but it does feel like your going to break it.
I did not realize Kurt Busch had a youtube channel.
Great video. We have spent many many summers in Creede. Always wanted to take that drive but didn't really have the right vehicle, tires, etc. You did it right. Great weather. We tried to hike it once in July, but a quick thunderstorm, sleet and snow rolled in. We made it half way but had to turn back. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels.
Thank you sir for the comment. Creede is one of my favorite places to be and there is endless option for exploring nearby. I'm glad you enjoyed, safe travels.
I cannot believe that this has only gotten 300 views. Really nice work on the video.
Thanks! Its a great drive so it made the video easy. But we do love sharing our adventures hoping someone else will enjoy them as well! Safe travels!
Looks super fun😀
This is so exciting! thanks for posting!!
Appears higher quality than www.ebay.com/itm/363062217648 but far harder to set up.
After a season of use I'm very pleased with quality. I do agree the force needed to set up is a little tough but it did get easier after a season of use.
Thank you sharing such an amazing trip! Have been on that road years ago... your video is now calling me back to the hills!
Thanks! Each time you go you see something new and it only makes it harder to leave.. get back to those mountains soon!!
Thanks for the vid, Dane. Just picked one up today and I honestly thought I was going to break the arms on half
It did make me nervous as well at first. After this last trip we took we set them up and took them down several times and my confidence in the product has grown but the legs still take some muscle to hook in place. Thanks for the comment and safe Travels.
I like the video
Yay!! So glad you guys had a good time!!
Looks like fun❤️
Just wanted to give a quick update after our kids got their first camping trip with their new cots. The cots were amazing and worked great, the kids were able to assemble their cots by themselves. My 10 yr old needed a little assistance to lock the legs in place but overall they completed their own bed set up, the kids slept well and were very happy to have their own space. I would absolutely recommend this KELTY cot to anyone who is in the market for a cot.
Can your kids teach me to disassemble the legs? Lol
They would be more than happy to assist. 😉
I know it's kind of randomly asking but does anybody know of a good site to stream newly released movies online?
Great job super cool!!!!
