From the Roger Boykin album, "Cycles" this unusual composition features giants of Dallas Area jazz, Claude Johnson on Baritone Sax, James Clay on Tenor Sax, William Richardson and Alan Green on Drums, and Jim Perkins on Bass, and composer and leader Boykin on Piano. Recorded in 1978 in Dallas, Texas at Goodnight Audio and Precision Audio studios.

This is the second tune from the Roger Boykin album, "Cycles." On January 22, 2007 the Marchel Ivery Quartet played for a private party at a cabin on the lake in Southwest, Texas. Roger Boykin was on keyboard, James Gilyard played bass, Andrew Griffith was on drums, and Marchel Ivery played tenor saxophone. This is a selection from that evening's performance. The tune is Stanley Turrentine's classic, "Sugar." ENJOY!!

Matt was a student at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing Arts at the time and Roger was an adjunct music instructor there. The bassist is Buddy Mohmed and the drummer is Harold Bosarge. Be amazed!!!!!
