The funny part about this is that hardly anyone would be able to say which one is which in a blind hearing test. At least not if setup and processed like this. Yet still aspiring streamers rather spend 10 times the price for the Shure SM7B just because everybody uses it and it's the best. This video is the perfect example that without proper setting up and processing the Shure's signal it's hardly if at all better than the "cheap" snowball (which by the way was the top notch mic over ten years ago for every TH-camr, just below the Blue Yeti).

I have this adapter, and I have used it with the R7 and rf 200-800mm lens for a while, to my understanding, this thing will reduce the image quality by a very minor degree. In good to okayish light conditions, it'll perform better if you crop in less. For example, I shoot a bird 10 meters away without the extender stopped down to F10, I can get a tact sharp image at my computer and 100-120% magnification. (my screen is an LG IPS 27" 1440p very sharp and I'm sitting at like 60-70 cm away) So that means is the image is magnified to 27" 1440p *1.2 at 120% magnification and it's tact sharp. Then with the extender, it's not tact sharp at 120% magnification however it's tact sharp at 100% magnification. So in terms of cropping, that's better because with the 1.4 extender, you're already magnified an extra 40% rather than 20% so the bird in the final image that's sharp enough ends up larger. Not 40% larger but at least 15% larger and that's good enough of an improvement for me. But this is only for good light conditions. In bad light, I'd not even bother with the extender. Especially with the R7.

Ulanzi sells a similar mini softbox. I'm not 100% sure their mini Bowens mount is compatible with the Smallrig's, though.

I just purchased this lens used for my R6-II and I'm looking forward to taking it with me this weekend for a short trip. I also have the 70-200 f/4 I feel this lens will pair with pretty well. Nice to hear positive things. I don't have sufficient funding for the f/2.8 version, but between this lens and one or two fast primes I should be able to manage lower light situations. Thanks for the overall positive review even as short as it is!

Great video! I have the 3L and use it with my Sony A7IV with a 50mm 1.8 lens. Its great but when I want to carry a zoom lens it becomes a really tight fit. I'm considering returning it and getting the 6L since its bigger.

the problem with this lens is the price is very high in some country include mine. around 100-200 usd more you could buy used sigma 85 1.4 dg dn with great condition. also sigma C lenses are hard to sell their second hand item here.

Thanka for doing short reviews man, appreciate it. Niche but great format. Only suggestion would be to add some text on the screen - maybe show the settings on screen when you're showing photos, show specifications of the lens on screen etc.
