@ I stand by every point in it, so I won’t be doing that🙂 not everybody is gonna like where the story is heading, and I don’t, but I’m glad if you do!
@@kookthekid8338 nah dude, you're just yapping about false ideas and points you made up :)
@ if you want to paint what I said in an untrue light because you disagree that’s on you! I don’t understand this need to just say the points don’t exist when they clearly do, maybe because you can’t argue against them? I’m not really sure. But I really hope you have a good day! No hard feelings for not understanding the video🙂 and I hope you continue to enjoy and support Warframe! Whether I like the direction they’re taking or not, I want the game to continue to do well so we can all continue to enjoy it
Another thing is how the games management changed, the story used to be following many many leads but now is trying to focus on one story line. The update being like dark sector isnt a problem, making dark sector canon to warframe would make the game more confusing but DE wanted to explore a world similar to dark sector so they made a way to both have their cake and eat it
Another problem is that the title is fully ragebait, your video is not about 1999 its about how DE is making a mistake with the games story and its direction. Fair points though
More a complaint about story direction than the 1999 update. Since the story has been focused on the void, there have been many loose ends of the grineer corpus narmer and sentients is a big problem with the entire games direction and i dont think it can really be fixed given how these factions arent to interlinked. Fair point though.
I want Captain Vor to be the main way the Grineer come back personally considering he is connected to the void with his Janus key I would love it if he ends up befriending Wally and becomes a much bigger issue. Give the grineer void tech or something as well
He might already be friendly with Wally in all honesty! And Wally using him to influence the Grineer could be an interesting story line for sure!
This video is literal rage bait.
It’s not, I stand by everything I say in this video, and after playing all the way through the update I think it aged even better
@kookthekid8338 if by better you mean like milk then I totally agree.
@@JedahDemon If you liked the story in the update, that's perfectly fine, but not everybody has to like it, I don't have positive feelings towards this update, but it's perfectly fine if you liked it yourself.
@kookthekid8338 some of the info you show isn't even accurate though. Like when you talk about Dark Sector the footage you show (and the info you provide outside of the initial synopsis) aren't even from Dark Sector, it's from an unreleased game that turned into Warframe. If you watch the full video for the footage you provided that game takes place in space on a ship that looks identical to the Zariman, Dark Sector takes place on Earth. So not only is the video rage bait, but it's not then accurate rage bait.
This is a comment responding to someone completely different, but, it applies to the same point you're bringing up. The footage was concept art FOR DARK SECTOR. The comment was slightly rude because they used some very inappropriate language with me, so don't think that's directed at you, however, your point is equally as bad. You said the content was from the original dark sector showcase, and I used it as evidence of dark sector inspiring 1999 and being similar. I mean, do I need to explain why you're wrong here? You aren't even countering my point, something that was made for Dark Sector, and has a Dark sector label on it, looks incredibly similar to 1999 and its themes. If this trailer wasn't labeled Dark Sector, was made for Dark Sector, in the theme of Dark Sector, and made to showcase Dark Sector, you'd have a point. Unfortunately for you, it does do all of those things. I didn't get a single thing wrong here, you're just blatantly wrong and are trying to claim concept work for Dark Sector isn't related to Dark Sector somehow?

Me when I lie
Definitely not a lie, I stand by everything I said in this video, and after playing all the way through the update I agree with it even more. The story is really weak, and going in a bad direction, in my personal opinion.
Oh I was joking…
I got baited lmao, W bait

“You should hate ballas” I don’t tho. The orokin were largely a proud people ruled by their passions. ballas was one of the few who managed to fight their way to the top of the food chain; setting himself up as an elite member of the council. It has been noted that what Ballas felt for Margulis was true love, so I don’t quite get why people are so mad that he’d go off the deep end. The one he loved dearly abandoned him. The one he, the proud elite, humbled himself for and begged to separate herself from the Tenno for her own safety(she was physically assaulted by them, this explained away as “out of control power”), ignored his plea and even gave love to the ones who hurt her instead of the one who wanted to protect her. “If he loved her, he should have sacrificed everything for her” Why? Why, when he already showed that love before it had gotten to the point of execution being declared? Why give more love when it’s been ignored, even discarded? Why stick out your neck for an axe, when it’s been shown that the same would not be done for you if the roles were reversed? Why do you all think that’s “love”? Isn’t ballas the one we should feel sorry for?
I came here to say I watched this video before TGA and I understood your sentiment. I still felt like it was objectively a bad video in tone and pacing, but I understood the sentiment. I got the vibes you were trying to mimick certain styles of videomaking essays. After playing The Hex quest I gotta say... You really" missed the mark. There is nothing even remotely reminiscing of dark sector in the first quest and you can get the idea right from the beginning, and it's so good. I mean, maybe you can argue "member berries" in the ending, I dont think so You could also argue "Isekai" but that would be ignorant if you've known what warframe was. It was nothing and it became something beautiful, that was kind of low profile (arguably bad) for a while, and then it picked up steam again and has been going since. I think it was beautifully crafted again, as I trusted DE to do after Reb. They did it again. Sorry that you expected something different, but it is what it is. I hope you can still enjoy the game and new content. Cheers!
I appreciate this comment, and while I do disagree with a lot of it, I appreciate the sentiment and what you're bringing up. I obviously like my own video, and you don't, not really much to argue with there lmao, however, when it comes to mimicking I just have to say there's zero chance I did, even unintentionally, and it's because how this video was crafted. This video wasn't meant to be a negative video at all, but just a video talking about 1999 lore and theory crafting what might be happening and how we got there, and while researching it I became extremely disheartened, because I legitimately didn't like the way the game was going. This led to me becoming more and more negative in a lore and theory script, which led to me just making a video about my grievances. Maybe the reason you feel like the tone or pacing is off is because parts of the script from what was meant to be a lore video are still intact, but I personally thought and still think it added to the emotions present in the video, and helped better get my point across. Because this didn't start out as a video meant to bash DE, but slowly turned into it because of my real feelings about the update. I actually have a title and parts of a thumbnail made for the original lore video, before I changed what I wanted this video to be. I pride myself on making good accurate lore videos, and would never want my own negative emotions to feed into them and make them biased or insulting in any way possible, which is why I plan to cover the lore of this game as I normally do. When it comes to being like Dark Sector, I want to make it clear, that I didn't mean it would be the same story beat by story beat. While I know I did say copy and pasted in script, I think that's a pretty clear exaggeration that was meant to be funny, especially how I said it. While this video was meant to be my real feelings, which it is and I still agree with my points, it is also meant to be entertaining. When it comes to being like Dark Sector, I meant more the vibes, location, enemy designs, and so on, which I still believe are incredibly similar in 1999. To hammer home this point of them being similar even more so, Ford herself literally states that 1999 was inspired by and wouldn't exist without Dark Sector, and that it was uniquely Warframe. This to me, sounds like an update added to Warframe that completely tried to recreate the theme of Dark Sector inside Warframe, and I still think that's exactly what they did. You can disagree with that, but I mean the lead dev herself even said so. I really love Warframe, and will play this update, and the next one, and the next one, and the next one, and I'll more than likely continue making content on the game for years to come! However, just because I love Warframe, I don't have to like every single thing they do, and that's what I stated here in this video. I hope that you continue enjoying your warframe grind, and cheers!
@kookthekid8338 fair enough. Maybe I was a little too aggressive with the "objectively bad" part especially cause it's so subjective. I like the gameplay better than the lore so I shouldn't be the one arguing in its favor. I personally enjoyed the path the story is taking (dark sector inspiration or not). It's unfortunately impossible to avoid convoluted plots when you have "paradoxes" and "dreams" and multiple dimensions and realities involved. Anyway sorry if I came out as aggressive. I did watch the entire video and it had good points, your comment gave me more insight on what might have happened. I'll be sure to check other lore videos as it's something I'm not extremely familiar with. Have a good one man!
@@wellincolin no you’re fine, I don’t think you were aggressive at all! You’re allowed to dislike the video lmao, and having people say they dislike the tone or pacing is feedback I can look into even if I don’t always agree with it! I of course would encourage you to check out my lore videos lmao😂 this is actually the first like written negative video I’ve ever made about the story in Warframe, so pretty much all the lore videos are just nerding out over things I like. But thanks for your comment, and I hope you continue enjoying the game! While I still really don’t like the story of the update, even less so now to be completely honest, I do like some of the designs, and the game seemed to remember it was rated M with some of the things that happen late in the mission, which I do appreciate! And of course, the update played smooth and the gameplay was good as always.
Loved the video, I can tell you did the most you could while trying to beat the clock. I agree that the sudden Time Travel plot is completely out of nowhere and doesn't have a lot of build up to it until about Whispers in the Wall so it's a bit of a system shock. But having had the chance to play it now I will say that it wasn't quite completely disconnected from the main story. It is playing more into the 'Void War Saga' that DE is setting up now. I do wish they would go back to flesh out other characters like Pazuul, Khal, or Parvos because there is something there but I also feel like they'll have their time eventually. As for Hunhow I don't think it's completely out of the realm he's had a change of heart. It is a little inconsistent to say he's had a change of heart in two quests while also saying the Worm Queen has been collecting kuva for seven years. Plus with how long Hunhow has been alive he had several lifetimes to stew on his choices so the change of heart to save his daughter isn't unheard of. Same with trying to coax Stalker who's been stewing on his own hate for probably just as long. For saying that it's basically Dark Sector, even for comedic effect, does miss the mark a bit. There are a lot of nods to dark sector like with the type of gas being very similarly named and being in a tense European climate but I think it's just different enough that it has its own identity with the Dark Sector we got being much more generic since it wasn't what they wanted to make. The Romance system and the Boyband were a wild addition and was probably more just added cause 'it's cool' but I don't think they detract from the experience either. The romance system is optional so if you don't want to interact with you that is completely okay and I will say that gives it a bit more of a pass. The boyband part up for debate. I'm into it but I get that not everyone will be. I do think the infested Liches being themed like that is an interesting take. And despite Tencent being seen as less of a great parent (company) they are alright with letting their studios so what they want as long as they make their money. Even if DE did want to make a sequel to Dark Sector, which was already a game that was made by caving to publisher demands, I don't think Tencent would deny them while allowing Soul Frame to be made since that's a similar risk. I will cut myself off there as this comment is getting too long as it is. I do think that you did jump the gun a bit on dissing the update just on appearances the day right before the update. I would like to hear what your opinions on it are now that you've tried it and if anything has changed. Either way, I hope you can find some enjoyment and have a good hunt Tenno!
Thank you for this comment! I love this sort of discourse on these videos and seeing everybody's opinions on my update, and the content in Warframe, comments like yours are literally the reason I made a TH-cam channel. For your first point I agree with mostly, I think I have a harder stance on it being disconnected, but other than that I agree for the most part. For your second point, while I do agree to a certain extent for him to have a change of heart, the change of heart I'd expect would honestly make him more aggressive. I mean after being locked up for centuries, the first thing he does is try to kill the Tenno. That would be the time for him to change and reflect in my opinion, but he didn't, and since then, the Tenno really haven't done anything for him that would cause a change in mind in a way that makes sense in my personal opinion. I think that the romance system is bad because I just truly don't believe it fits in Warframe, same with the boy band, but obviously people can have different takes on this. Tencent is a pretty terrible company, probably one of the worst in the gaming industry in all honesty, so I really expect them to do anything they want, including forcing certain games to be made, or not to be made, depending on what they think is best. I think they would approve something like soul frame, because of the success of Warframe, and name recognition will help soul frame get popular, so it makes a lot of sense to let it be made in my opinion, even by a more strict parent company. When it comes to releasing this right before the update was released, that was pure bad timing. Obviously, I think a lot of people thought I was trying to rage bait right before the update came out. But I had the thumbnail, script, title, and most the video figured out and done several days ago before the game rewards announcement. I understand that releasing this literally hours before the update came out is bad optics, and I really think it would of been much better received if it was a week or so before, but I mean I never expected them to announce the update came out the next day. I'm actually planning to stream the game live here soon, right after I finish my finals for some classes. Thank you so much for your comment!
In response to Hunhow going for the throat on the Tenno once he was awoken, I think that was more of the fact that he was (as I understand it from the Natah quest) asleep for all those centuries and more than likely thought it was still the Old War similar to how Loid did. Once he was awoken he did attempt to reach out in a few different ways to extend his power, most notably in Second Dream and Octavia's Anthem. I do think he had every intention to kill the Tenno up until the time of the New War. We don't know how long Narmer/Ballas was in control of the Origin system for and he more than likely had time to ruminate on what he was really fighting for. Then once the Drifter arrived just trying to get help to save Lotus because she chose the Tenno herself, he had that push to flip that leaf. I can agree that the Romance System is very odd to add to a game like Warframe while the boy band could be 50/50 (still hoping for the Khal and Clem shawzin duet). But in defense of it, while being an odd choice, isn't just a surface level thing so they did put effort into it for those who want to get into it. I agree that Tencent is not a great company but they don't really step in until things are falling apart. I think giving Soulframe a pass isn't right only because the only people who will really know about it right now are for the most part Warframe players. Yes it has been covered by other creators but the majority of their play testers currently are Warframe players and Soulframe is a completely different feeling comparatively so it is still a risk. While Dark Sector was not well received on launch it did get at least decent reviews and sales for the times. Still I don't think DE would want to do a Dark Sector 2 but are willing to look at it with fondness for what it means for the company. Makes sense to have everything already done basically a few days before hand but the timing for release is still very humorous. I think more of cautious optimism would have been seen a little clearer than more theatrics for emphasis would have come off better but that's just me!
These and many others are the same reasons why I quit Warframe altogether 6 years ago. Here's a few more grievances: -more lore on Unum. An Orokin tower made of flesh from which Kuva is presumably harvested is a HUGE deal, but apart from a brief Unum cameo in New War, I haven't seen anything related to Unum. -Arbiters of Hexis and Steel Meridian quests. All other original factions have quests to go with them, many of which also reward a unique Warframe blueprint. These two never got the same kind of attention, which is a pity because the Arbiters seem really interesting. -the submerged Corpus orb spider in Fortuna. Last I played, that fight was not implemented. -the Wolf of Saturn. And other Nightwave quests in general. -that dude with the Zariman mindscape and the horses -why does the Infested strain in Orokin derelicts look different from the one in other parts of the Origin System? Is that just what an Infested growth looks like as it ages? It was never said. -how does Helminth fit into the Infested hive mind? Is it an extension of them or against them? Also, only reason why I don't mention the Man in the Wall is because it seems like DE are actively doing something with him now, but who knows how long it'll be before we hear more about that. Also, much like you hinted at, it seems like the New War quest was really just a very ceremonious farewell to everything Sentient-related. All the cool, terrifying Sentient characters came to an abrupt stop after that. I remember when I first played Natah what impact Hunhow's appearance left. It was ancient, eldritch, horrifying - it was perfect. Hunhow WAS the Sentient; all the Sentient enemies, even the scouts on Uranus, were extensions of him - an overbearing presence, a godlike machine at the bottom of an ocean planet. Now, reduced to a fool in the New War; the moment it said "Wait!" as the Tenno turned its back on him, I felt like that was no longer the Hunhow from the Natah questline, but something dilluted into a stereotypical side character in someone else's story. Erra also, except he didn't even have the time to leave his mark between the Prologue and the end of the New War, where he was similarly reduced to a fool. It's sad, it's really sad.
I agree with a lot of this in all honesty, however, a few things have been mentioned. There is a corpus orb spider fight now, and they added that in 2019. There's still no good faction quest really for steel or arbiters, the tower is still pretty unimportant, I'm not sure if anyone really like duiviri and the Zariman really and they're both still kinda messy in my opinion. They explain away the infested as different strains that do different things, and I don't believe they've addressed the helminth. But yeah, I didn't talk about the sentients nearly as much as I should of, but, my feelings are nearly the exact same that you've written out here!
@@kookthekid8338 I'm not talking about the two orb spider fights that are in the game right now, with the one that adapts to damage that's a pain to fight, and the one that rewards Hildryn blueprints and it's actually a pretty good boss fight. There was a third orb spider submerged in a lake somewhere towards the edge of the map, which had been hinted at for a long time to be a future boss fight. Last I played in 2020 (my mistake for saying 6 years, I stopped playing shortly after heart of deimos came out) that orb spider was still dormant. I vaguely remember there being a fourth orb spider as well, but I might be wrong about that. I still like to keep track of Warframe lore, though! I think it's a nice universe with some really cool ideas and some good quests on occasion. I liked some of the gameplay elements too, such as the mechanics of some weapons (I remember having a lot of fun with glaives and Dual Toxocyst in particular), although the gradual discouragement from a stealth-ish game style to nuke-everything through the ability sets of latest warframes and squad dynamics in general did not sit well with me. I would've liked more abilities like Ash's Teleport or Limbo's time control as opposed to abilities that clear an entire room of enemies with one click. Overall, the devs just gradually stopped adding options for stealth gameplay and, although I still love the worldbuilding, the questlines gradually lost their quality (only New War can hold a candle to Second Dream and War Within, and solely on the gameplay front - not so much on the story front. Not to mention Chains of Harrow, which was simply phenomenal but unfortunately one of a kind). I'll always think fondly of the good times I had with this game because they were truly expertly done, but overall it's just not for me anymore :(
We have been fighting corpus and grinner for 11 years now, they trying to make something new while continuing the void war arc which is a universe level conflict cause yknow eldritch void being? That seems much more important to deal with then the putrid worm queen and whatever granum is doing. The whole point of tau was the main goal of the orokin and with ballas's death the orokin are gone. The whole point of this new arc is leveling up the scales of the conflict to space ninjas fighting petty factions to fighting a universal threat.
The issue my video makes with this isn’t about the threat itself, but how it’s executed and where it’s executed. I don’t like how the setting resembles a different game more than Warframe. With this type of reasoning, we could put the man in the wall inside fnaf and it’d make sense, and I think that’s really stupid. I don’t hate the man in the wall or going after him, I hate how it’s executed which I make clear in the video. Secondly, saying petty faction conflict is insane, when the entirety of the Warframe universe takes place in the origin system, except the Tua system. Implying that it’s petty conflict, and not the destruction of everything known in the universe is just nonsensical and incorrect. The Tenno were revived because the Grineer were fully conquering the entire system, and genociding every non Grineer. That’s petty?? I just have to disagree with you there, but I respect your opinion if you don’t think that’s a big deal, or a threat to the entire Warframe universe.
🤡
3:12 ... inspired doesn't mean "literally". Like dude yeah it's got dark sector inspiration its their history. In no way does that mean it has to be the same thing as dark sector. And having played dark sector, it's not the same. Inspired, yes, same, no.
I do know what inspired means lmao. The point is it’s incredibly similar, are you disagreeing with that? I’m kind of confused. I don’t think it’s literally dark sector, just heavily inspired with a warframe twist like the dev lead herself said
We are going back to Dark Sector era. Which was the best because that era was when the "warframes of today" had normal human skin :D
Hey I’m glad that’s what you’re into! Have fun with it!🙂
Alright so, just because Warframe has a lot of evil guys and important monsters to go after DE gotta stop every, find a way for us to get rid of those before we find more enemies? Well between killing a bunch of armies of enemies i rather focus on the huge apocalypse that's literally knocking on our door to enter in our reality and well pretty much everything in it, including us, yeahhhh great idea dude
I don’t think you understood the main issue this video is talking about, which is completely okay, so I’ll explain it here for you. My issue with 1999, which I think I lay out very explicitly in the second part of my video regarding the dark sector. Is that it inherently does not feel like Warframe. The culture, setting and everything doesn’t fit within the universe. They’re excuse for this, is that it’s a different dimension where the man in the wall may be stopped, but I personally think that’s lazy writing, because that would allow you to say the man in the wall is in five nights at Freddy’s and that’s where we have to go next. I want 1999 to connect to the origin system and the void in more ways than just, Wally is here. A better example of connecting something is the Plains of eidolon. The sentient corpses present make sense regarding pre-created lore to the update, the Grineer presence makes sense, and it’s communicated to us before we enter the plains there are instances of groups holding out against the Grineer. When it comes to 1999 no pre established lore fits in correctly to make it make sense, besides just the very most recent updates with entrati. When I mention what we could of gotten, I’m talking about why moving the story away from the origin universe is such a large problem. There’s so many unanswered questions, and instead of being in a position to answer them, where just in a completely different universe that’s more inspired by a different game than warframe itself according to the developers themselves.
i wholeheartedly think anyone agreeing with this video is incapable of analysing the bigger picture of this questline and what it means for almost every aspect of the story thus far
I wholeheartedly disagree, and I’d love to see your take why you think this way?
I'm a new player who actually got interested in warframe because of 1999. I spent years passing off on this game because I thought it was just another f2p cash grab. Anyways, 1999 looks amazing to me, the aesthetics, the atmosphere, the characters... It really reminds me of the golden age of gaming in mid 2000s. don't know what to expect from the story tho, because Whispers in the wall were a complete let down for me and the whole quest was gay as fuck. 1999 looks more metal and manly already so I'm pretty optimistic.
I’m glad Warframe is still getting new players after all this time, and I do hope you enjoy the update, regardless of my opinions on it!
@@kookthekid8338 So do I, but it's probably gonna be a while, since I need to finish Duviri first and that prime resurgence event is tickeling my monkey brain...
The dark sector hate seems excessive... using already established stuff on the backlog and amending it for future work, when it's likely their own work isn't really that bad a thing. Ideally I'd only give someone shit for such things if they do like blizzard did and blow the entire backlog for a few throwaway patches within a year or two.
Yeah I agree with this, I was just being funny there with throwing things at dark sector since it did underperform, however, the dark sector hate in relevance to how they’re claiming 1999 wouldn’t even exist without it, is kind of concerning to me, which is why I did talk about it so much
@@kookthekid8338 i'd say they call back to dark sector for a LOT of Warframe's later, and original, development and not just 1999 specifically.
I absolutely agree with that, but you also have to acknowledge how much more they do that in 1999, to the point they’re saying that 1999 wouldn’t exist if they didn’t look back and get inspired by dark sector. They said 1999 was dark sector inspired but uniquely warframe. So because of what we’re seeing, and because what DE has said, I think it’s a fair take to say they’re taking way more from dark sector than maybe since Warframe was created.
I get the gipes you have, alot of the unished content i feel is what keeps me coming back to warframe tho. Like once we get to Tau what are we gonna do. And i bet DE is asking the same question. Give them time, play other game, this update is good and alot of these loose ends i feel will be resolved soon. We just need to get to Tau tenno.
I hope so!
So I'm typing up this comment right after I just finished the quest for 1999 and I feel like you've missed one of the biggest reason why we go back there in the first place. Along with that IT ISN'T TIME TRAVEL, instead it's just a pocket reality or something similar to duviri, I can maybe understand some of the anger cause where not focusing on what the corpus, grineer or other big bads in the origin system are doing, but let me point out that the indefference/Man in the Wall/Wally has been the big bad for probably a while? I mean you have an entity from the void that wanting to consume all of reality and you don't think that the big elephent in the room? I'd will say there are problems in the origin system like Parvos granum or the sister worm trying to revive the grineer queen, or Hunhound who just rotting away really... I'm gonna split these three issues about the origin system into there own segments but I want to explain the problems and why we might not be facing them now. I want to start backwards with Hunhound the leader of nothing. Hunhound has been trapped in a prison on Uranus for *decades* leaving him with time to reflect and try to fix what little he has left since he does have nothing. The stalker is gone choosing to take care of his child, his daughter no longer loves him, and any work or power he once held in tau is probably gone do to Erra taking control. The only thing he has left ironically is the Tenno once enemy now just annoyance to be tolerated. So for Hunhound he doesn't really have anything he can do, I mean he could try to free himself and return to tau but he doesn't know what going on anymore. The grineer queens - while the worm is trying to get enough kuva to bring back her dead sister she has to deal with two issues. First being the tenno who are still technically trying to stop her from collect kuva which is more of a minor inconvenience but the real problem comes from finding a body. The queen is dead and they can't use a grineer clone since they are far to gone, everyone else is a human who also probably wouldn't survive the resurrection process, the infested are a no go since that just a hive mind made up of everything... and trying to get their hands on a tenno is most likely impossible. So can the queen be resurrected, that probably a yes they probably have enough kuva but what they currently lack is a body to put the queen back into. The corpus - While Parvos granum is trying to take control of the corpus and lead it in a new direction. I wouldn't say that a terrible thing, while the corpus are bad I would have to point to the corruption of their core ideas and values. Those ideas that Pravos wants to bring back and mold, is this a bad thing? Maybe it is but the corpus are already a problem so why not see if he can make any change for the better? Also that guy you mentioned who was a corpus head Frohd Bek is probably dead? I mean in the assassination mission for Ambulas we send a bunch of those rigged to blow his ship. Now he could have escaped but I'm pretty sure that a very slim chance so unless DE does say something it's a mystery. I wanted to make a fourth point about Tau but as most will point out I feel like there not much to talk about since we still don't know anything. So instead of that let's point to darksector and DE, what they wanted to do *originally* was warframe. So a gotta ask the question is it wrong to take inspirtation from your past work to put into what you currently love making? I feel like you got a lot of anger and frustration but it's either really missguided? I don't know what to say, do hope you make more of what you love doing but this wasn't a good video.
I appreciate your comment, but I think you missed the point of my video by looking at your first paragraph. I understand the Man in the Wall is the big bad, he is one of the biggest issues and villains in the game right now, I’m questioning the decision to make you got into the past in a different dimension, somewhere that doesn’t look like it belongs in Warframe, and the inclusion of a dating sim, while ignoring the original system you’ve created. Why wouldn’t we confront Wally in the void we know, or bring back tower keys or something. Why is going back to some random destination in 1999 the answer?? Point being, DE could tell us that Wally was in a Chucky Cheese and that we need to defend ourselves from horror animatronics to defeat him, and you’re argument could still defend that, which I don’t think is a good thing. For all three of your other points, about hunhow, the elder Queen and Parvos, I don’t understand them? You’re saying they’re not important because nothings happening with them right now, and I mean yeah, that’s my problem? Things won’t happen in the game unless DE codes them in and gives solutions, so I’m confused by why you’re saying nothing is developing in those stories. And I mean some are going on 7 years without being updated, which is more than half the time Warframe has existed. You said the queens haven’t found a body, I agree, how have they not? Grineer have killed and captured Tenno before. Hunhow lost everything, but he also thought he already lost everything when initially fighting the Tenno with stalker. Sure he could off himself, but I think it’d make more sense for him to try to make it back home or something. The Parvos take over seems pretty pressing to me, because I mean it’s actively happening I think, or suppose to be. I believe frohd Bek has dialogue yelling to eject part of his ship, which could mean he lived or not. Regardless of the outcome, I think it’s weird that we haven’t seen the most powerful corpus in the game, or at least who was the most powerful corpus in the game. In all I respect your opinion, and I’m happy you’re enjoy the update. Obviously I’m in the minority, and since I do like Warframe, I’m happy it seems to be doing well, even if it isn’t something I particularly like! However, I think saying my dislike is misguided is just incorrect, when I feel like I laid out my issues with the story pretty well.
@@kookthekid8338 Hey wanting to shoot you back a comment to apologize. My original comment was anger pointed back at anger and I really shouldn't do that. I want to say sorry for the original comment. Honestly I don't know what to really say since this has recently came out, so we're all kinda in new territory with stuff that still going on, that hasn't been concluded which is leaving us with baggage. They want to currently probably focus on the Tenno vs Wally but also develop us as a character? I don't really know what all to say. Sorry for leaving a angry comment on your vid.
@@cooldudeninja0219 No apology needed at all. When disagreeing with someone it's absolutely normal to get a little bit emotional, like how I was in this video, and even a little bit in my response to you! No hard feelings at all, and I appreciate your comment and insight on your thoughts regarding the new update!
damn this video like dislike ratio insane lol i mean this what happens when you shit on an update hours before it drops and turns out to be a hit i played it and personally i enjoyed the new bit of story they gave us
Yeah this is by far more worst dislike to like ration! However, I’m really happy by the conversations it’s generating in my comments here, and besides for one or two comments everyone has had respectful takes, which is impressive! I don’t like the story the update is heading in, and I think it’s goofy, and I personally think I did a great job explaining my gripes in this video, I stand by it completely. This video was meant to release sometime before the update actually dropped, however DE jumpscared me by announcing the update was coming today, so I had to push out the video hours before the update. No one knew it was dropping today, at least I didn’t, which led to my video dropping when it did.
wow you are not the brightest up there are you
Why am I not the brightest? I’d love to hear your explanation!
Personally I like that DE has the balls to change they're game completely while still implementing it into they're current game. Yea I'm not a fan of every mechanic thats added, but its always fresh and doesn't ruin the rest of the game. (side note no mentions of time travel until now? Sure maybe not to this extent but Protea exists and Rhino literally stops time by stomping hard enough.) Also lol yea the dating sim is just player service for the more... dedicated players for lack of a better term. As for story I dont get people's drive to direct something that isn't theirs. Its like telling an author how to write their book. Not to mention while this game has some amazing story and lore its not very set in stone and there's so many open ended aspects that give the devs the ability to go in any direction, for better or worse XD. At the end of the day gameplay is what matters to me. The lore is fun to learn about but Fun/gameplay > lore details.
I respect your opinion, but I disagree, I obviously do care about the lore, and disagree with your take that I shouldn’t be able to comment on my thoughts on the story direction because I’m not the one making the game. I’m a fan, and someone who enjoys the game a lot, so the idea that I shouldn’t be allowed to talk about what I disagree with or like about the game because I’m not directing it is really strange. If I was somehow forcing DE to change their story with this video, you’d have a point, but I can’t, I’m just explaining why I don’t like the direction they’re going in, but obviously DE can make the game however they want, I don’t own it. People have public opinions over things they can’t control and don’t own everyday, I mean almost 99% of the internet is that. Anyway, as I said in the video, DE always delivers with gameplay and that was never a concern! Glad you’re enjoying the update
Im glad i have the extention to see dislikes because you're yapping
Lmao I’m glad I brought you joy! And while I was yapping, everyone single video anyone makes could be classified as yapping. I stand by my points and don’t like where the story is heading though!
Games fun idc about the update but c'mon lich boy bands?? Your writers are high
I don’t even know what to think about that lmao😭 that’s such an insane thing to include to me, though I think the dating sim is even more out of place personally
@kookthekid8338 everyone wants to leave their own lil shitty imprint so bad they destroy a neat thing instead of improving it.
attention baiting
This video is not attention baiting in the sense I presented something I don’t agree with, because I stand by every single take in this video 100%. However, this is TH-cam, and the point of every single video everyone posts is to get attention, so in essence I guess you’re right?
@kookthekid8338 so everythingi you Just Said IS irrelevant i get IT
I don't mind all I really care about is being able to use my Operator I don't want to use be another character I like my custom character.
W custom character enjoyer
This video has to be rage bait
I think I make defensible and reasonable points! You can absolutely disagree, but I believe saying it’s rage bait is just wrong
First of all, the game has never played better! The QoL and mechanical updates all feel great and not a moment too late. I would recommend anyone looking for a good, rewarding game to try Warframe. While the game has never played better, with care apparent in every mechanic, I can't help but see the novice-level writing decisions. I think the story has fallen off since Whispers. We had a Harry Potter dungeon in Whispers (with those derivative themes doubled down on in Dante) and now a Jojo's references in the Doctor Who-tinted dilemma that 1999 is shaping up to be, with only the lightest of lip service being paid to lore and phenomenon present in Duviri's loop mention in the latest/last 1999 trailer. Along with this very fantasy-genre-fiction-flavored standard set in mining the past, I can't help be think of the old adage that "great artist steal." I think, if that is the case here, that Warframe writers would benefit from referencing great sci-fi works. The Operator suits and Motes are clearly inspired by 1982 Dune and we even get to ride Worms in Duviri. It's a fantasy trope, though, to look to the past for solutions because all of the great power is old and all of the terrible evil is ancient. We have to uncover and address the long-held secret Heart of Deimos to begin Whispers. But as we, the Tenno, grapple with some more time loop nonsense, we're divorced from the consequences of our actions by not being able to understand or interact with what a post-Narmer origin system looks like. Like, man, did we or did we not just kill our handler and caretaker? I do think the new PvP mode, though, because it does speak to the real conflict I think would be present in the Tenno faction. SURELY, there would be Tenno that oppose the Lotus' guidance on principle. Some people may be sympathetic to Hunhow and Stalker. Some Tenno may even feel drawn to the Zariman. Other Tenno may be uninterested in maintaining the balance of the Origin system and would seek to completely wipe out an enemy faction's presence on a planet. Imagine if we could liberate every Grineer node on Earth in response to the story's actions?! What if we could foster enclaves of liberated Grineer that feel the way Kahl does? What if we could rid Earth of the Queen's influence entirely?! This is already longer than I intended it to be, but I do get the frustration expressed in this video. I don't know that I agree with every criticism laid or that it was put out before engaging with 1999, but I think it's perfectly fair to be apprehensive about it and to speak tot hat.
Honestly I think this was a great comment, and I agree with a lot of what you said. When it comes to your final bit about putting it out before engaging with 1999, it’s because this video was made awhile ago, and was going to be released this same exact away, just days before the update actually came out so there wouldn’t be confusion. Unfortunately for me, DE pulled the, this update drops tomorrow, which made me hurry up and finish the video editing and release this video before the update came out, because this video was made to talk about the direction of the story, and why I really don’t like it, regardless of how fun 1999 might be to play.
@@kookthekid8338 Yeah, it really just a cluster of bad timing and charged feelings. The charge that 1999 is a spiritual successor to Dark Sector as the main component of your video is sound, I think. I'm sure we'll see parallels to Technocyte (beyond Cyte-09's name), enferon, alongside the already present Soviet Block-inspired setting, and more all point to Dark Sector. And I don't think it's interesting. I'll probably long in after the weekend and some patches smooth things out to see for firsthand. If you really want to get red-string conspiratorial about it, the Dark Sector game was free late in November. It's all connected!
Your the only person complaining about this
I am! I guess I have a unique opinion and stance on the Warframe story!
I'll save you the watch, it ain't, now go and enjoy it lmao
Actually guys, this dude is super wrong, and you should watch through the video three times. 😂
Just having Dark Sector connected to Warframe would make more sense.
It is lore wise, it just has incredibly heavy dark sector influence!
@@kookthekid8338 Sorry I meant to say Dark Sector and not 1999. Just connect them both instead of pussyfooting around it.
@@TheStrayHALOMAN Ohh okay I got you now lmao!
I have had a similar thought process myself. The focus on Albretch Entrati after The New War felt like a branch off from where we should have naturally gone. Imagine eating a sandwich and then jumping to desert before finishing the sandwich.
the indifference has been a major part of the story since it's introduction. the sentients and the new war aftermath can wait, dealing with albrecht's plan is far more important right now considering how it's changing our reality as we speak. cant really deal with the sentients when techrot has began to emerge into the present timeline, something happening only because of albrecht's time fuckery
It’s felt pretty unnatural to me as well which is part of the reason I ended up making this video
The game isn’t over I’m sure in the next couple of updates they will address all of these storylines.
I hope so!
4/10 ragebait almost got me
I wholeheartedly disagree this is rage bait, and if you watch the video I think you’ll find defensible points, even if you don’t agree with them. However, giving something you think is just rage bait a 4/10 is pretty good, so thanks I think lmao🙂
clearly you aren’t invested in the story hunhow was LITERALLY WAITING TO DIE in the new war and why would he EVER go back to tau????? his daughter is currently fighting the murmur his son is being controlled by pazuul and his “wife” IS JUST A BUNCH OF SCRAPS NOW
I’m not invested in the story because I think hunhow wanting to go back to get reinforcements, or at the very least complete some sort of action, one that could help his son even, is something that should be done? You think him just offing himself is the right answer to that story? I mean it could be if done right, I don’t know if I like it personally because suicide has touched everyone and I’m not sure how that’d go over with the audience, but it could be written in a way to make sense.
@@kookthekid8338 literally not what i was saying? hunhow was waiting for the new war to end he was fully contempt with never leaving if the war didn't end. hunhow also has no reason to try and help erra since he is ALREADY DEAD removing the archon shard will only stop pazuul temporarily as soon as he gets another shard he can revive himself
