I like to wrench on motorcycles! I have a soft spot for vintage bikes...it’s becoming a bit of a problem...
Stay tuned for more wrenching, custom builds, and thoughts from the bike as I continue to learn more, everyday.

My name is Chauncey, and I really like motorcycles. I'm a novice mechanic with a passion for motorcycles of the vintage fashion. I'm excited to share with you the positive experience and lessons learned from wrenching on your own motorcycle. From resto-mods, custom-builds, easy upgrades, and even some thoughts from the saddle, I hope to continue learning everyday and share what I can along the ...
1980 gl with harley mufflers, soft bags that expand 2x, 82 low miles engine that is higher geared, custom engine guard, running boards with heel toe shifter, updated suspension front and rear, updated brake systems. Carbs are tuned annually. National cycle plexifairing, hardly need rain gear. have been riding this bike 20 yrs and love it.
Matter of personal taste, but I find the Gold Wing much cooler naked. Not least because that great motor is exposed…
How do we get ahold of you I just bought an 82 goldwing I would love to link up.
Its been 3 years where did you go!!!! :(
Have you heard of lowering the saddlebags and the fairing? I've seen a few pictures of GL1100's that have lowered the fairings and saddlebags and they look amazing.
I have a 81 I just got running and driving
I have a Vetter fairing on an 1980 cx500, just trying to get to radiator cap, trying to figure out how much I need to remove to get access to the cap.
Less slavery more time for yourself ..I get it
Thanks for putting this video out! It answers many of the questions I have!
I have a 1947 western flyer rat rod bicycle and I'm thinking about doing some welding in order to put a Honda Goldwing faring and seat on it . If I acccomplish that I may go ahead and put the saddle bags on too .
I think your 2nd wineberry goldwing was mine..i sold it to jose grant in stamford ct in dec 86....i put gold radiator cover..chrome side parts..and chrome handlebar part...he was going to sell it to someone in another state i believe ...
Very high quality, and VERY helpful! Thank you!!
In my opinion its so wrong to strip an old bike like this,,it will never be the same,,if you want a naked bike then buy a naked.. It will never run the same again....
To bad your not posting anymore
Life happens! I’ll update everything soon. Thanks for the thought
Does anyone know how to replace the headlight on that fairing?. I have a cb900 with the same fairing.
hmmm.....
More videos ❤️🥺
Great video, super helpful to a new owner!
Love the goldwing content man please keep it up, I just bought one last night lmao 1983 and I need the high quality help
That tape trick is a good one, thank you! And thank you for the video, I’m currently doing a bobber build on an 82 GL1100 aspencade
You’re in zoo!? That’s my hometown!
Hey man it looks like you’ve been gone for a while. You may not see this but I want to share with you anyway. I just came across your channel and I love your videos. You really have a knack for these types of videos. You should keep them coming. I think you could really make a name for yourself on here. Hope all in your life is well!
"We have free carburators" 😂
Needs a headlight
On a GL1100 Goldwing there is no need to remove all the acorn nuts. On each side, just remove the two horizontal bolts on the stay and the two nuts on the plate. The faring lifts right off. The acorn nuts face out and are installed when the faring is off.
Thanks for that!
How does it ride with and without the farrings and all, I've never riden a goldwing before, and I'm potentially about to acquire a '83 that's fully dressed and plan on stripping it down...
Rides like a huge low weighted standard. The fairing is so nimble so I love it
@@ridemoremoto1298 Cool, I currently have a 1978 cb750 cafe racer but have to park it because of an electrical issue, so I'm looking to aquire a '83 goldwing, has the fairings, saddles and all installed. If I get it I'mma strip it down asap, the farings just look hideous imo...
@@dewdrop3009 I fell in LOVE with the fairing before I owned it :)
@@ridemoremoto1298 I just picked up the '83 Saturday. And ngl I have got to get rid of the faring and the saddle bags... I am a bit nervous because of all the excessive wiring, but I'm just gonna full send and hope for the best haha
Have you figured out how to convert the front end to fairingless
I had a friend give me a 1983 Goldwing but it needs all the bags, chrome bars and fairing … but it runs great! Keep making videos.
Thank you for this video
Do you have a profile to contact you at? Just got my second goldwing
I’m on Facebook with the same name as my channel! Stoked for your second wing??
Good video on how to get the carbs off. I'm glad I just now starting this carb project, hope the follow up vid is ready when I need it. I think in about 2 weeks. I've got a lot of other repairs going on this thing too.
Good video, I have a 83 GL1100 that has sat for 18 years that I'm working to bring back to life. I have also used Pinwall for used bike parts.
Just bought an 81 goldwing. I've rebuilt dozens and dozens of carbs but it's always nice to see a video on the removal process so I know what I'm in for. This is definitely an unusual carb setup so thanks for putting this out there.
My pleasure!! Looking forward to putting out more videos soon
@@ridemoremoto1298 I ended up pulling the carbs out last night and inside the bowl it's pretty crusty the Jets are mildly clogged and the mixture screws are not adjusted but instead screwed all the way down and seated. Clearly whoever was in here has no idea how to work on carbs. I got the bike for $750 so after my carb kit comes in hopefully that's all I need to get it going. I had it running rough before I took the carbs off so I know there's compression and spark and fuel is getting there.
@@ridemoremoto1298 I've got some motorcycle videos on my channel you should check up
Same boat just bought my 81 she just needs a little carb work
I’m assuming you got the bike done? Sad e we didn’t get any more vids but I understand.
Actually haven’t finished it yet! Stay tuned
What happened?
I just bought a 1982. Person before me made it a naked but gave me the fairing. I'm going to try and put it back to stock! Not sure where to start though 🤣
If you already have one with a fairing leave that naked
They actually made a gl1100 standard from 81 to 83 I believe. It's a "naked" bike, exactly what you're doing now except it came from the factory that way.
My’75 OldWing has no bodywork, no fairing , bags or windshield. Nothing but a luggage rack that I found in a junk shop. I love it that way but I might put a windshield on it next year.
I just got a 83 gold wing 1200 with 2900 original miles . Not sure if I want to keep it as is , make it a naked bike or turn it into a bobber
If u sell this bike I want it lol
Holy hell that's cool... I own the same year exact bike and I've never seen it without the fairings!!!! Imma try it out I wish I could post a pic of my bike🏍🏍🏍
Excited for ya! Take a dive!
How did it end up looking?
I'm super excited to see more videos, I just got myself a 1985 goldwing gl1200
I hope you Keep it Naked!! The hardest part for me was finding a new headlight bucket! thanks for the video
I think I’ll probably keep one naked and the other faired
Thanks for the subscription and the comment!
For those who are fortunate to have one of these classic bikes, we become care takers of the past. We should keep them as original as possible otherwise we lose these classics forever... That goes for cars as well.
No.
I just bought a 1982 goldwing and I agree entirely with you but I'm taking a good amount of chunk a stuff off I'm still keeping it it's sitting in the garage but for enjoyment on stripping it down a bit
Great video. Were did you get the steps to adjust?
I found them, and most of my info from GoldWing Docs! Thanks for watching!
@@ridemoremoto1298 awesome! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I just bought this and am excited for the project.
Let me know how it goes!
I have an extra valve cover
Thank you very much but I already acquired one :) thanks for watching
Thank you for making this!
Thank YOU for watching! Share it with your friends!
These older goldwings look great to me without the fairing, even more so with the hardbags still on.
I’m lucky enough that I may be able to have both. One with, one without! Who knows. Thanks for watching
First I would like to thank you because you just save my ass. I wrecked my gold wing same year same color even. I got lucky and believe it or not found the same motorcycle five streets down the block for me in pieces but still a good bike that I could use for parts. I’m actually gonna do the same thing as you. One naked bike one fully dressed. Good video seriously. No stupid ass fast shots or any Shitty music. Really good job seriously
Wow. Thank you 🙏
I have a 1981 GL1100 carcass that might be of use to someone. Also have several parts and hardware. I need the space so it's got to go. My email is warrenjf1@hotmail.com, looking to just get it out of my garage!
Looking forward for next steps!
Thanks for watching! With school coming to a finish, more videos will be up soon!
