Hi K So here is story, I will try to make it quick probably will not turn out like that...About 14 years ago or so, this guy in Florida who I had done a project for modifying a golf cart motor so that it charges 2nd battery stack while it runs (via double wound coils) contacted me and wanted me to make that ultimate motor-generator, one that "self sustains" and lets loose lots of power to charge up a big battery bank that solar panels could be charging during day time. So I said OK I could build something for you like that, but its just going to be a "battery swapping looper" in that battery stack B gets charged up by motorgen while battery stack A runs the show then you swap stacks at best time to do it. You know all about this I am sure... So it took me 9 months but finally completed the project and sent it out. I charged him $14K too (nice eh) Agreement was he was not supposed to tell people he had a "looper" just a real effecient battery charging motor generator thing is all. What is interesting is that what I built for him a couple years later came to be near exactly what you have now in that big pulse motor.....same relays he had (from florida source) same aircoil size and wire gauge, same nodymium magnets size and shape (hockey pucks) Mine were a little bigger however....plus same six magnets vs six coils each side.....All the same BUT I did an elaborate "shorting coils at the peaks" thing to it too, which would really boost caps up in charge at near no consequence to extra draw to motor....Aircoils perfect for this sort of thing since they really "ring" hyper fast.... Anyways what happened is they guy with my machine invited lots of "big shots" over to see it, and started bragging too much and eventually some big "power brokers" he called them from Delaware or Maryland with Italian last names came out to visit me as supposed to get 7 million in investment and I was going to split it with guy in Florida, They sent a "bulldog" out - an MIT professor who was a real dick - trying to see if we would flinch and over react to harrassment and insults and so be unsuitable for investment I guess....he said the people were more important than the technology (some shit like that) Turns out he worked for CIA bigitme probably from the investment branch that works with mafia and drug dealers I dont know but it was a "bad trip" He finally said we would get our investment money but I knew that was anothe psychological ploy just to see how we react. Anyways we got nothing in the end, he took my peak coil shorting tech, the only thing he liked (its OK sice I am open source all the way) and did something with it I dont know what that is the end of story I could go on but this good enough

The Simplist switched reluctance motor I seen demonstrating the concept was made from a single electromagnet coil for a stator and a rotor with 6 nails with their heads evenly pointing out radially. It was mechanically commutated with two brushes that made concurent contact with a nail when a nail when that nail was moved within 30 degrees of the coil and broke contact when that nail moved in to position over the coil. When connected to a battery, It's simple to see how this functions as a motor. But in theory it should be able to work as a generator if spun in reverse from how it motors. Just add a diode between the battery and motor's coil, but make the coil a center tapped coil. The diode will suppress induction kick back. When current is interupted, and the collapsing magnetic field will then dump all the energy stored in the magnetic field, into both halfs of the center tapped coil, resembling an auto transformer. This includes the mechanical work done pulling steal away from the electro magnet that stored even more potential energy in the magnetic field. While generating, Using too few turns on the coils and spinning too slow and using too little magntizable metal risks too little inductance and too high current resulting in magnetically saturating the iron, and potentially less energy output than input.
