Hey I came to canada as study permit but it was conditional offer which mean I have 2 months English course so the consult at airport didn’t give me work permit only on- campus but then , I finshed these 2 months and changed school for another province with unconditional offer as I have English test So, Now I know I will extended my study visa as it will end on 31st December but , now on septamber I want to work off-campus What to do??? How can I get work permit allow me as full time international student I need to work but, doen’t have work permit I don’t want to wait untill my visa extension It usually takes longer time Please do you know any idea what should I do From ontario to Alberta*
In your situation, there are a few steps you can take to address your desire to work off-campus before your study permit extension is processed: 1. Check Your Current Study Permit Conditions Ensure that your current study permit has a condition allowing you to work off-campus. Typically, this is specified directly on the study permit. If your current permit doesn’t include this condition, you may need to update or change the conditions on your study permit. 2. Apply for an Amendment to Your Study Permit Since you’ve completed your English course and now have an unconditional offer as a full-time student, you may be eligible to apply for an amendment to your study permit. This would add the off-campus work authorization to your permit without needing to wait for a full extension process. 3. Contact Your School’s International Student Office Your new school’s international student office can offer guidance on the exact process and support in updating your study permit. They can help you understand whether you’re eligible to work off-campus immediately and what steps you need to take. 4. Apply for a New Study Permit with Updated Conditions In some cases, you may need to apply for a new study permit to reflect your new status as a full-time student with an unconditional offer. You can do this online, and it’s important to highlight the changes in your circumstances. 5. Start the Visa Extension Process Early Although you don’t want to wait for your visa extension, starting the process now might give you some peace of mind. It depends on the type of application you submitted on behalf of the kids per their age. Open study permit application for children above 6 and Visitors Record for children below 6

This ensures that your study permit remains valid, and IRCC has the most up-to-date information. Your spouse's eligibility for an OWP is tied to your status as a full-time student at a DLI. If you switch institutions, ensure the new institution is also a DLI and that you remain a full-time student also make sure the level of study is the same as previous Informing IRCC about your change of DLI might result in a delay in the processing of your spouse's OWP application. It's crucial to update your information as soon as possible to minimize any potential delays.

The time frame depends on the school in question. The fact that you are already in Canada and on an existing study permit is a good thing so the school you will apply to can admit you with the same processing time as local students. You have to try and know.
