History of the German Empire: Every Year v2
Imperial Germany, officially known as the German Empire, emerged in 1871 following a process of unification under the leadership of Prussia. This transformation marked the end of the German Confederation and the beginning of a new era in European politics. The Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871 was instrumental in this process, as it rallied German nationalism and led to the proclamation of the German Empire at the Palace of Versailles in 1871, with King Wilhelm I of Prussia crowned as Emperor Wilhelm I of Germany.
Chancellor Otto von Bismarck, the architect of German unification, played a pivotal role in shaping the policies of Imperial Germany. His leadership focused on consolidating the newfound empire and maintaining a balance of power in Europe. Bismarck introduced a series of domestic reforms, such as the Kulturkampf to reduce the influence of the Catholic Church and the implementation of Social Laws to address growing socialist movements.
Bismarck's foreign policy aimed to isolate France and secure alliances with Russia and Austria-Hungary to maintain peace on the continent. This diplomatic strategy was known as Realpolitik and helped ensure the stability of the German Empire. Under Bismarck's leadership, Germany rapidly industrialized and became a major economic and military power in Europe.
However, Bismarck's dismissal in 1890 marked a turning point in German history. Emperor Wilhelm II pursued a more assertive foreign policy, allowed the lapse of the Reinsurance Treaty with Russia, and pursued a naval arms race with Britain. These actions contributed to the tensions that culminated in World War I.
Imperial Germany's participation in World War I marked a period of great upheaval and eventually led to the empire's downfall. The Treaty of Versailles in 1919 imposed heavy reparations and territorial losses on Germany. The empire was dissolved, and the Weimar Republic was established in its place.
In summary, Imperial Germany, born out of the Franco-Prussian War and proclaimed in 1871, marked a significant chapter in European history. Under the leadership of Chancellor Bismarck, the empire achieved rapid industrialization, territorial consolidation, and diplomatic alliances, solidifying its status as a major European power. However, the empire's assertive foreign policies and involvement in World War I ultimately led to its dissolution and the establishment of the Weimar Republic.

I appreciate the End of Evangelion music

Nice video.
The most bloody war in American history in proportion to the population, I believe. It set into stone the genocidal nature of the new colonies and later union.
is this actually true?
Very well made
👍
Nice video.
Yeast off to make her 100th episode of the slump shitto empire which lasts 5 frames 10/10 would gulp to again

In what regard?
@@YeastCartography in terms of the different regions show on the map. Are they all proportional to each others' size
@ I don’t think they are exactly but looking at it again it might be close somewhat
Crowning a German emperor in occupied France is an absolutely awesome move.
🇦🇱❤️🇽🇰🐺💪👊🥷🥷🥷🥷
Everything I think was covered except for the Peking Legation Quarter. However, that was a legation not an actual concession, so I suppose we can let that pass. :D
Yeah that was the reason i didn’t include it
@@YeastCartography I see
germany is like one of the few countries to have 10/10 borders in europe

Nice video

nice video
Most of these werent internationally recognized at all or existed for no more than a few weeks or a month, I dont think there's a need to include them. Also many of these weren't even proclaimed nations but rather armies or regional councils which didn't count as countries
Why on earth would I care about international recognition in a video about the Russian civil war, the Soviet Union wasn’t even a recognized country until years after the war lmao
International recognition doesn't matter in the Russian Civil War.
you got new sub
why is mirdita there
Because it’s in Albania????
@@YeastCartography no, why is it labeled in the map
Why do you think
@@YeastCartography 😭just tell me im begging

Lula is one of the most important leaders of the 21st Century, and most people have no clue about it.
For the Americans watching, this is kind of like if Bernie beat Trump, and some pro-Trump rioters along with some police and military tried to forcefully occupy the White House and reinstate Trump.
nice video
I thought the map was the balkans next to italy
Lmao
Присутствуют много ошибок. На самом деле Кокандская Автономия вообще не имела 90% этих земель Их автономия была только в Ферганской Долине. Охватывала крупные города : Коканд , Ош , Скобелев и другие
Thank you, very uplifting video
What do the dashed lines on the some states in the reconstruction era mean?
