I had a look to see if you'd done an update and I love that God has blessed you with your third beautiful baby <3 I have been blessed with a 5 year old daughter and we've been trying for a second child ever since she was born. I have been so angry at God for so long. I have been in constant pain. I cried nearly the entire video listening to you. I could relate to so much of your story. Having a family plan going into marriage - my husband and I wanted to have 2 children before I turned 30, I'm 33 now... I am only just starting to put my faith in God's plan, rather than my own plans, no matter how much it hurts. Thank you so much for being brave and putting this out there. I can see so much pain in your eyes as you're talking about holding the feelings separate in this video. You told me everything I hoped to hear, that you want to be a light in people's lives, that it is okay to be happy for other people growing their families. No one else in my life has or desires children, so I have been feeling doubly alone. It is just my husband, my daughter, and I... she has no cousins or other children to play with or grow up with and I feel like I have failed her every single day. I know I can't keep using it as an excuse to keep failing to show up, but until your video I didn't know what that could look like. It's been a while since you uploaded, so I hope everything is going well and your beautiful family is flourishing!

Hi. I use it for 3 months, the first one was 2 injection the same day, every thing went well, and I had two times headaches and lower than befor, the second month . I had a rash in the injection place, but the third month every thing turn very bad, I had a Sever skin reacción I had even to take antibiotics. My blood pressure goes creasy, from 198/133 to 70/50 en minutes , taquicardia. Arritmia. Insomnia. Constipation, hair lose. Weight gane… I realize that I started having heart issue in the second month but it wasn’t that Sever. The doctor told me to stop using emgality. Even she reported my case to the company. She think that maybe because I have fibromyalgia my body has an immune reacción to the components of the injection

I had been noticing the mottled looking skin, and like you, I am using my heating pad any time I am resting. I didn’t really think much of the discoloration. My orthopedic dr even noticed it and, “oh, I can see you use a heating pad a lot.” So he knew I was having pain, but…he issued no warning. Didn’t give me any advice to stop. Didn’t inform me that it puts me at a higher risk of melanoma. None of it. (Out of all of my specialists, this one is my least favorite. He doesn’t take me seriously it seems.) I found out about the risks after he mentioned it, and I googled the condition erythema ab igne. Google taught me to slow my roll. My Dr didn’t. This was an important message. I’m glad you put it out there.

(M/47) Just took my 3rd dose today. I feel like things have been great, maybe 50% - 75% fewer migraines, and less intense. I'd like to think it's the medication, but I do just have some months that are better than others, so more time will tell. Only side effect has been puffy/itchy injection for 1-2 days after taking. Pretty mild, barely worth mentioning.

Came across your video. I am on month 2 on Emgality. I tried Amovig a few yrs ago when it came out and I stopped after 2-3 months because I started losing my hair. When I told my neurologist yes they look at you like you have 2 heads and lost your mind lol. I didn’t feel the relief was worth the hair loss. My migraines have gotten much worse every year so I am hoping this doesn’t cause hair loss. Regarding dosing, my dr said that if I needed a higher dose he can try to get a higher monthly doses approved. Since this vid is a year old, how are you doing?

Hi, I take Emgality for my Cluster Headaches, and it's really helping me to get the Cluster attacks under control. Yes, it hurts more than other subcotan shots. But that's nothing compared to a cluster headache attack. So I won't complain. What it also seems to do, it seems to pull me down in a way where I feel much less energetic, less awake, and on the edge. I have really low endurance, get out of breath fast, and I feel exhausted quickly during elevated activities. What I also noticed is that it seems to elevate the state of depression and thus affects the state of mind. I take two 120mg per month. Without it, I would be in much worse shape. So I'm thankful for it and put up with the side effects. I never linked losing more hair with the drug, but now, after listening to you, you may have a point, and there may be a correlation, which I never realized. Retrospective I have noticed a higher level of hair loss. My hair is not as thick as it used to be, and it really accelerated in the past year, which is also the year that I have been taking Emgality. I really may not have much of any options either way. I either take the shots, and I can live or stop and just call it quits and have it done with.

On top off the Emgality I now in 2024 needed to take Verapamil 480 to 600mg a day. Off label therapy. Have you tried a tummy injection instead? Hurts/stings less. Keep the shot at least 2 inches away to the side of your navel. Lightly pinch only enough skin to provide a more firm injection site. Another option is the high inside hip area of your buttocks. That one is my preferred, but someone else needs to administer.

Violence in our case. I have always felt unworthy when I was faced with his aggressions which as I understand he cannot do anything about/cause helplessness and frustration in him. I have always tried to improve stuff. I am high energy. He is calm and enjoys that. I am discovering the world and live a life of touring musician and curious person. My body does the same thing, I can feel when the medicine begins to wane.

I was Emgality for 7+ months. My neurologist took me off of it because it was not working for me. When I stopped it, I also had hair loss. But my neurologist gave me the heads up on hair loss or other side effects. Hope you find a solution. 💜.

Always know you got this even on your darkest migraine days. I am still using my word from last year as it resonates with me a ton. I deal with 4 subtypes of migraines and still push my self where I can. We are baby free zone but love kids nonetheless. My word from last year is “comfort” which I’m still applying to this year. Many times I don’t know how to get comfortable with my migraines and my migraine kit was not big enough. Now I can say it thankfully is and has been a big help! I use comfort as in what can I do and what can I not do. How can I bring comfort to those situations. If I can’t do it then acknowledging that pain both mentally and physically and just allowing my self to surrender. This one is hard as their is that guilt that comes along with it but I’m learning to not be ashamed of it and allow myself to be comfortable with that. So I can use comfort in multiple ways!! 💜. I also started my own migraine FB support group back in 2020. So that also is a place of comfort and joy. Thanks for sharing this. You totally did not have to owe anyone an explanation but it is appreciated. Happy Thursday. 💜.

Hi! I came across you on Instagram. I'm having the exact same trouble but with my GP in England. They don't know what to do with me. They've referred me to neurology but because of corona virus and because we have the NHS (🙄) I can't even be seen till March next year. I'm suffering. I don't know how I will cope till that appointment. I feel like I'm just being passed around and being left in limbo. I completely know how you feel. Xx

This is a good way to separate all these complex emotions. I'm struggling with secondary infertility after the loss of my sons to adoption. I think that's the hardest thing about secondary infertility is knowing you had a healthy pregnancy and not being able to again

I am very sorry this happened to you. I will say this....keep shopping for the right doctor. Don't settle. Telemedicine has opened the door for you to get the right provider for you! They can be from far away. Keep looking. You will find the right one. I had an orthopedic doctor toss a box of kleenex at me when I cried from pain during the exam. He was AWFUL. I fired that guy and gave him a bad review. SOOOO many people responded to that review telling me they had a similar experience with him. It was something that I learned from for sure. Hang in there.

This is such a powerful story, I think that every medical professional in the country should see it. I am so sorry that you had this experience, and unfortunately I don’t think it’s rare. I’ve experienced similar treatment many times, including at “top” hospitals and from “the best” doctors. Clearly, empathy and compassion are not emphasized in medical school. But if you don’t treat your patients with humanity, how can you possibly treat their disease effectively? On Emgality, I have used it for 4 or 5 months and it is definitely helping. Not 100% symptoms reduction, maybe 50%, but that’s a big deal. No side effects at all. I hope it helps you!

I just found your channel. I was diagnosed with hemiplegic migraines a little over a year ago. I was taken to the hospital with what we thought was a stroke. After receiving TPA and staying in the hospital for 3 days, I was released with the diagnosis of HM. The past year has been so bad to say the least. I have had “regular” migraines for the past 10ish years but nothing like what I have experienced over the past year. I am looking forward to watching your videos and hopefully connecting. It feels lonely at times with this diagnosis. Does that make sense?
