Minnesota Wing
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 6 ก.พ. 2013
The Commemorative Air Force Minnesota Wing was formed in 1971 as a maintenance unit for the CAF. It was the very first charter unit of the national headquarters wing of the CAF and operated as a maintenance support arm to help the CAF’s mission and its ever-growing fleet of rare aircraft.
Today, the Commemorative Air Force Minnesota Wing is home to six aircraft, including a B-25 “Miss Mitchell,” a large motor pool fleet, and a unique collection of World War II artifacts on display.

B-25 Takeoff, Taxiing, and Flying! A view from the cockpit!
Experience a front row view of a B-25 Bomber, Miss Mitchell, from WWII as it taxis, takes-off, and leaps into the sky! Watch as it's powerful 1700hp radial engines lift it on the sky, and takes to the air. This was the same type of bomber that took part in the famous Doolittle Raids in WWII.
The B-25 placed itself in World War II history books on April 18, 1942 when 16 of the medium range bombers launched from the deck of an aircraft carrier in the Pacific Ocean and bombed mainland Japan. Led by Lt. Col. James "Jimmy" Doolittle, America had begun to turn the tables on the Japanese.
After a 12 year restoration by the Minnesota Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, Miss Mitchell took her first flight on April 16, 1992 ~ exactly 50 years to the day of the daring Doolittle raid.
Today, Miss Mitchell appears at air shows and special events throughout the United States and Canada.
The Commemorative Air Force Minnesota Wing operates a Living History Flight Experience which gives you the opportunity to fly as a crew member on Miss Mitchell! www.cafmn.org/history-flights.html

I’ve seen the B-25 flying around. Cool!
It is loud as hell. You fly that rascal by the numbers.
WOW. Nice video. Its sad because you have only 20 subscribers.😭
Cool
Love it!
My dad was part of the P-51 and B-25 programs out of Mines Field in LA during the war and used to hedgehop around the country in a Mitchell, with Tex LaGrone. They were doing low level stuff and making bets on ETA’s. Have some great slides of factory fresh P-51’s escorting them over Texas. They were so close you can see one pilot’s ball cap.
my Dad flew the Ryan and an AT-6 in training in Texas before serving in the 5th Army Air Corps in WW2 … in the Pacific he shot down 3 Mitsubishi’s in his P-40 Warhawk and attributed his flying expertise to his instructor in TX that told him to “straighten up and fly right “ !!!
Great video. Thanks for filming this
She was flying over my house several times on a Saturday and must have been giving airplane rides that day She gives that booming roar on take off over my house and other times you hear the backfiring of the engines on landing approach In this video the takeoff direction goes over my house a few blocks past 70th street.
Nice job Amy & Mitch! I’ll check it out real soon!!😃
Thanks!!
If i win the lotto, im going to buy one!
God Bless Jimmy Doolittle and his raiders. Real men of courage!
Can you imagine being on the flight deck of the USS Hornet as 16 of these took off?

Thanx for letting the two engines do all of the talking!
Beautiful B 25!
Love this airplane
Few things sing such beautiful music than the sounds of growling radial engines. Wow, wow, wow !! Seen a number of B-25s at air shows thru the years and the music stays with me for a long time.
Look out Tokyo.
The Tokyo raid has become legendary.
You Bet !!!!

Wow❤❤❤❤❤
I have the chance to fly on one of these in a month. I'm probably gonna put the L-19 as my first option. This is definitely gonna be my backup choice! The SNJ is a lovely plane.
“The B-25 is the greatest machine ever devised for turning gasoline into noise.” - Some B-25 pilot
That must have been smokin hot in the cockpits with all that glass. Especially above the cloud layer in the pure sun. The Mitchell B-25. My favorite bomber from WW2.
I can just imagine the air filled with the smell of 100LL exhaust.
Group of us were having breakfast at the Urbanna,OH (Grimes) Municipal Airport 10+ yrs ago when one (this one?) took off. Loud as that flight deck sounds in this vid? When they throttle up those Wrights you understand why Doolittle chose this aircraft to launch off the deck of an aircraft carrier. 1700 ponies each and LOUD!!! 👍👍😁
Yes! It is very loud. Definitely need the headsets!
Thank you I'll try to keep in touch
