What i'd recommend first is build up buildings that give you monthly income like the temple and the special buildings like grain farms, oil rigs (specifically the ones that give you the highest economy), and for the army your first line (flank+first line units) should be equal to or greater than battle width, if First Line units are equal than support unit's numbers don't matter, but if First line units are greater than battle width then support units should be equal to battle width.Atleast that's what I think the encyclopedia says. Also best investment for me:- Buildings(special buildings based on unique resources)→ exploit economy→ tax efficieny→growth rate investment→buildings→ manpower (could be first priority if you are going to war or are at war, don't miss out on manpower)

i actually really llike this game, my last game i played as the aztecs in the 1400s, i basically kicked out the european powers from the americas and basically had infinite economy because once you get a decent economy its very easy to exponentially increase your economy
