Bruh i played a game where my team was using 380s and the damn game spawns in 380s… shit was unplayable. It was constant destruction and we cldnt hit objectives 😂. It was damn near constant.
Only problem is it really isn't THAT simple. When you examine a specific aspect individually after it's already framed, it will seem that way. But when you change that aspect, it's the rest of the picture that needs to get evaluated with it because the dynamics are now different.
i sence a skill issue. no one on my squad has had any issues avoiding the explosions. try looking up
Nah it don’t work at all cuz in my clips I was standing still in a solo dive and still got splattered :(
The only way to fix this is to remove friendly fire from the dss. So far the only thing we can do is stay together to avoid the bombardments since it tries to fire in a circle around the squad. It has problems when players split up. You need to stick together and also stay in place once the bombardment starts so you don't run into it by accident. That seems to help a lot but they still need to fix this.
orbital gattling barrage would have been better just rain cheap ammo from space at the enemies

Why not just give the host these 'special barrage' rather than praying on rng it doesnt land on your team..... Having all four players qccess to the stratagem is overkill, hell why not just make it function THE SAME WAY AS SEAF ARTILLERY WORKS FFS ARROWHEAD ITS AS IF THEY NEVER KNEW HOW SEAF WORKS AND COULDNT IMPLEMENT IT TO HOW DSS BARRAGES FUNCTION

How much cooler would it be if it shot exclusively railcannon strikes? Like a bunch of red dots line up from the sky and annihilates a whole barrage of enemies

I have an idea for Arrowhead: turn the explosions into animations that play out in the skybox, and make a new stratagem that allows players to call in focus the dss' barrage fire onto their desired target, and make each explosion in that barrage as big as a hellbomb. That way the effect of a planetary bombardment is sold without detriment to the player's life expectancy, the speeding up of liberation efforts is still kept, and they dss still directly affects gameplay, but instead for the player's benefit.
I think they need to make it so when you mark an enemy, it is targeted and bombarded by the DSS.

They should've waited till clan and group systems were in the game to release DSS. The focus should've been on the illuminate, and DSS should've been SE's response. I thought this would be more like the strata relay from warframe and clan system dojo.. meet up with random players and have different NPC's have events and dev interactions like meeting General Brach and visiting a zoo where they show off terminid experimental mutations and where our resources go, maybe even weapon mod vendors.. I expected so many things... instead we got trolled again! But yeah? This is pretty much just an overrated modifier settings menu, and I didn't really care for those. I guess we'll see how it is with (MORE) explosions everywhere.. 😂 They released this, too early imo.. focus should have been on releasing the squids and weapon mods.. and they should've waited to release this DSS space station until clans and group systems are ready and we better be able to explore the station!
They definitely need to adjust it. It’s just much of a danger to us as it is the bots or the bugs.
Played a destroy command bunkers game, died many times to the barrage but we never had to actually enter a commander bunker outpost cos the bombardment would just kill it before we got there
this will be know as .. the Mastia incident.also something i saw , and maybe im wrong about it.. is , the barrage does come down randomly but only at a fair distance around the players, but as you use the jet pack, you have an increased chances of being hit by it since you just jump foward to where the barrage is falling down. mostly likely being hit.
Maybe in solo But I've gotten killed by it while standing still Twice In the same mission And that's ignoring it killing me another 5 times in that mission It's _BAD_

I said it before. The developers are so bad at adding anything else. I think they are at a stand still. At this point give us a new race. They love to tease for nothing. Warhammer came out and they teased our galaxy map with the illuminate. They are full of shit. Hey at least we get more shotguns and costumes….
Im hoping all the time they spent waffling during this major event was ACTUALLY work on the illuminate/new mutations for both sides. We REALLY REALLY REALLY need something new to shoot at.

Yeah, they really need to change the way this thing chooses it's targets. Until that changes, I'll just stay away from wherever the dss is stationed
i have 2 problems with it. obviously randomly dying isnt fun in the slightest, but the barrage also does a lot of the mission for you. thats fine and dandy the firs time it happens because its really cool, but after a while i get sick of going to do an objective just to see a shell literally rain down on my fun
WHERE ARE THE BLUE BONUS STRATAGEMS THAT EVERYBODY THOUGHT THE DSS WOULD PROVIDE??? there was like one which was probably an eagle-2, there was one that called down friendly SEAF troops as reinforcements, and more that i cant remember right now but cmon they would have been so cool why do we only get passive bonuses (that kill us right now)
You've pretty much answered your own question. Everyone thought. From my knowledge, none of this has been confirmed to be coming with the DSS. I apologize if it was actually stated to come with, but as far as I know, it wasn't.

We already had a better version of this. All you had to do was stay outside mission borders for more than 10s and it was much more accurate. -.-

I don't know about you all, but the DSS Planetary barrage has made my Diff 10 runs a breeze to complete, destroying jammers, annihilating patrols and demolishing Striders! Haven't been hit by it once yet, but it definitely fucked the 3 other randos a lot... I do see the downside for the common player, but this thing is just a pure W in my book.
It sounds like a lot of dissident complaints to me.
I did one mission today and almost cried laughing by the third time it killed me. This is so damn hilarious. We spend two months earning this thing and it is a gloriously fun and funny debuff. They'll need to fix it, but this is that grand opening that will lead to "Hey, remember when the DSS first released and it basically just made you traitor for most of each mission on the planet it was deployed to?" If I'm understanding the orbital blockade it is going to win the MO for us anyway though. That will soon cut Mastia off from being able to attack Gaellivare until there is less than a day left for us to lose Gaellivare in.

The disappointment with the DSS and the Planetary Bombardment is real, funny thing is that we weren't trying to get that one first, the community thought all passives could be activated at the same time and we really aiming for the Orbital Blockade. However because the Planetary Bombardment was the first one to be fully donated it went off on Mastia and we can't use the other passives until it's done. Also doing missions with this thing shooting around you and at you all the time is frustrating, especially on higher difficulty. Waiting at the extraction point is pretty much a a death trap and like you said there are so many different ways they could have tackled this other than a reskinned traitor bombardment.
It is absolutely INFURIATING that only one bonus can be active at a time and we had NO idea and we can't switch. This mission order should be done. The defense should be complete we were trying to use the game mechanics!

Waiting at extraction is not a death trap. You need to stay in place as a squad at extraction and you're fine 99% of the time since the bombardment happens around the squad. We tested this on 10 games yesterday. We had only 1 death at extraction.
I died like 5 times from this random bombardment 😅

so I usually play on DIF 10, went to go play and it was just 2 of us because everyone else left, and we lost all respawns due to overpowered rocket striders, and bot attacks, on top of the dumb barrages, if they don't kill you they rag doll you and deal damage helping the enemies shoot you, we finished the mission but I will never again be playing a planet that has the DSS ever again, I would take a taser to my democratic super balls before the ever happens

its honestly pretty retarded. We busted our asses off for what? just to get bombed to death and we have no control over it. Right now we could be liberating Mastia to win a gambit, but I don't even want to play on the planet because I keep losing all my reinforcements and my strategem weapons and backpacks. The bombardment barely even hits what I need it to hit, like fabricators, detector towers, jammers, etc. An easy patch fix would be something like all players on the planet that the DSS is orbiting now has access to free 380mm barrages and eagle airstrikes with reduced cooldown. But no, i feel like I just threw my samples and req slips down the drain. I already have excess, so in one way it doesn't hurt that bad, but it still feels like a waste of my time.
I thought for like two full games that it was a feature to make the game harder at tier 8, but its our own DSS killing everyone on my team. I'm being ragdoll'd for a min straight while I got bots tag-teaming me like some sorority girl on a black couch. shi rough

Consider how small their dev team is compared to say, Activision with over 13,000 employees spread over 4 different AAA sized studios working 4 year dev cycles, each studio releasing on a yearly rotation. Arrowhead is what, 100 employees? The amount of content they can put out is still impressive. Even if they were to hire after their success and growth it will take time for the right talent to get into the groove of things. A $40 game with micro transactions vs a $150 with microtranactions. It's apples to oranges. People manage your expectations.....

@@dledman Poor excuse. After all those months after release, it shouldn't be that much to expect something more than a reskinned traitor barrage and some pages where you can vote and donate samples. They are just incapable as a team for this game at this point and I'm tired of pretending they are just catching up when they did all of this to themselfes. They even have more time for patches than before, and still they mess up to playtest such small things.
