this is really cool
😂 I was asking myself “why did I keep playing the same fragment over Dm7 G7” until I realized this is from a lesson inside my studio (right) where I’m addressing practicing inserting a specific nugget of vocab while otherwise playing freely.
If you want to accompany this song, you have to raise the chords by 3 semitones. Keyboard instruments and guitars always sound as they are written in sheet music.
So many wrong rhythms!

Powerful
One of the greatest ever, his solos are beautifully melodic, virtuostic masterpieces. He is still waaay underated in the history of jazz saxophone..
It's true. I don't think I've heard anything less than an excellent solo from Sonny Stitt -- they are seemingly always spot on in ideas and melodic lines and technique and appealing musicality. His consistency, year after year, was remarkable.
so he never played any flats? Also at 1:24 measure 51 isn’t that Bb? Sorry, A#.

I'll be the first to comment. Like I've always said, at least in my mind, but now out loud and for the record, Bob Reynolds is an absolute monster and his lines are smokin'!

Love the solo and thanks for posting. Some rhythmic errors in the notation however.
He didn’t play Bm7b5 - E7b9. He played it as a major ii-V every time. The chord symbols should reflect that.
Great playing but the transcription isn’t rhythmically correct in some spots.

Hey, you should pay more attention to spelling. Using only sharps may make sense to you, but for me, it was really confusing to read along to this and see things like A# written over G minor 7 which has a B-flat, not an a sharp. I think other musicians who read a lot of chords would say the same
There's another transcribtion more acurat.
And there you will find the rest of the solos. Have fun.
