I had mac engines before I changed th foreign rotary valve 3 strokes . My I mis those days
getting off the bowl is the key Rogero told me...
i still race Todd to this day he drives the same way sits in the seat exactly how he did then... fast as usual...
Any of you older fellers by chance remember a Terry Spitler out of Phillipsburgh OH ran Bstock and duals
This is the coolest. Pre 90s karting broadcasts are rare on the Internet, and finding a full production is a treat. Anyone else know where I can find more content like this? Karting's earliest years are such a fascinating topic to learn about.
I raced this class.. stock engine, but stock appearing carb .. they ran OPEN fuel. That is why there is a lot of carb fiddling going on, sometimes smoking, sometimes not so much.
100cc McCulloch Light was the MOST compettive class back in that day, and is one of the most competitive vintage racing classes today.
Near me in Indiana McCulloch is competitive but there are only 12 registered karts that run em.
Well done Todd!! McCulloch kart engines were incredible. I had a Mac 101B.
Get them again .. .VKA currently races these same karts, even dual 101B's (that's what I run).
Course reminds me of a mini Interlagos
Hey Todd, John Tipps here. Thanks for sharing the videos, it brought back some great memories! You were a rocket ship in both classes that day, I just wished I hadn’t fouled a spark plug on the pace laps of that second heat. Anyway, do you by chance have any of the other classes from that race? I would really like to see the 125cc MAC class; if you could help me out or point me to where it might be, I’d really appreciate it!!!......thanks again for sharing!!!!
Great racing John!! What model of chassis were you guys racing on back then?
@@terrier53 We had brand new Margay Expert karts that weekend. We got them so late that we had to put them together on our way to the race in a converted bus!!!!…..good times!!!
John, I raced this class locally when you ran nationally. Can you share what fuel you actually ran back then, or is it still a secret, lol??
Go Todd Barron!
