Here's our after work fishing trip down to Turakina on the west coast of New Zealand's North Island. Sadly it was too weedy for the bait canon but the kontiki long line made it past all the grass in the surf. Dinner was provided by Jase and he cooked it in his Dutch Oven over the coals. An early morning fishing trip down to Turakina Beach. The conditions were too good not to go! Jase caught a few Kahawai on the rods and the bait canon landed a Red Gurnard and a Kahawai. Awesome video bro. Do you get much success from the bait launcher?
It's taken a lot to find a suitable trace that wouldn't break. Now I'm using about three feet of 100lb nylon as a two hook dropper rig. Fishbites for the bait because they don't come off the hooks easily. It caught a decent Gurnard and good for the Kahawai.

Great stuff. Are there any snags that you know of out off this beach, and is the beach access all tides? Might give it a go one day. Keep the videos coming 👍
There's no snags that I've ever heard of. The first km or so of beach is usually ok, but you can't go far up the beach at high tide without a quad bike. It's quite soft and steep, so low tide is best in a 4wd.
Get some Rode/DJI mic's, would make a good show. Do you sell the fish or just put them in the freezer?
Hey Zenon! We are slowly getting new gear and starting to use it. We have just purchased some wireless microphones but the wind is always a problem. We don't sell any fish, it's always for the freezer 👍
