Karl Richter - Brandenburg Concerto 5 (harpsichord solo)
Is a pitty that when the Orchestra is playing you almost can not hear that pianothing, except in the clear and brilliant solos.
I think he practiced this beforehand.
% 100 charisma👏👏👏
Yes!!! This is Rock 'n Roll. Geiler Typ der Karl Richter.
How he plays on precisely w/o glitch whilst turning the page over with his right hand, even with an extra flourish ... I guess he could play these simple toons in his sleep 🙂 Awe-inspiring, esp. the solo which is mind-boggling hand-eye co-ordination (not sure he even needed to look at the keys)
Just lovely to hear my old friend from 30 years back when I first heard this piece! Could anyone explain what the 3:14 to 3:24 type of music is called - is there any specific music term or terminology? Thanks! 🙂
When the harpsichord reigns supreme! ❤😁
yeah,.. he plays like a beast!
Gem💎
Sounds the harpsichord played by Lurch the butler on the old Addams' Family TV show from the 60s. It's an ugly sounding Pleyel, which was the result of mating a piano and a harpsichord. Fortunately, the offspring were sterile and the species died out decades ago.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇲🇽🕞🥇el genio desde siempre.
Bravo! Too many modern interpretations destroy this cadenza with too much damn romantic rubato and rallentando. Thanks again Karl, for channeling JSB's original intent👏🏻🫶🏻👌🏻🙏🏼
This is impossible.
Maravilhoso.
Gotta come back to this every once and a while.

That one note he got wring ruined it for me
No wonder Nicolaus Harnoncourt founded the Concentus Musicus Wien...
Like how he does octaves in the bass during a section where only single notes are actually in the written music.
Heard him I'm Lübeck as an organist when i was a little boy
Where can i get these recordings? If youre interested in selling them please drop your email
God created Bach to give the universe its final shape and Bach's music created Karl Richter to give Bach's masterpiece its final shape
ain't one motherfucker clapping??? Like WTF. If you're watching in 2024.....how is no one falling over? How are these folks just like "yeah this is what he does....that's his thing and whatever I just play violin for Karl"
La exelencia con el Clvecin. ❤
That was worth watching!!!
Erinnert etwas an Klaus Kinski.
Amazing ❤

the master. <3
The sound is almost organ-like. Love this recording and the masterful playing of… well, the master.
Being alive in the times before what we have today must have been otherworldly considering they had the genius of Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Scarlatti and Haydn just to name a few from that era, and had I been around at that time and heard this, I would be convinced that I had just heard the work of an omnipotent god. Truly incredible precision for such a difficult to finger instrument, and the orchestra that accompanied was marvelous.
They had all those geniuses. Problem was that everybody who was anybody preferred to listen to Telemann, Salieri and the sons of JS Bach, who were still in the A tier as well as a host of mediocrities.
Beautiful music, and beautiful conversation -- who could want more from the latest social network!
The weather sure is nice here today, and made even nicer by listening to this beautiful music and sharing said music and thoughts with strangers. No, new friends. Thank the Owl for the recommendation! What relaxing and uplifting music here.
Who else is here from the ex-bird-app at the suggestion of Owl at the Library (AKA Sketches by Boze)? 😂 PS. I wrote another version of this comment before, but it seems to have disappeared. I don’t know why! This time I avoided naming the app and I left out the “at” symbol from the username I mentioned.
Hey! I am here for similar reasons. There was an epic comment community on the AV Club’s review of the season finale of community (Season 5?)
@@Wmblair I didn’t know about that! Sounds cool!
Sublime.
Yo yo, new social network!🎉
Oh yeah let’s do this!
@@chickenfish7166I’m ready! 😂
And my axe!
Here in case of twitter collapse.
Still waiting for my bluesky invite, so…. Let’s gooooooo
Huh?
Can someone explain
Bravo!
Karl Richter plays the harpsichord and organ as if he were making up the music as he goes along. The mark of a true musician! Gorgeous
THE FIRST GREAT ROCK SOLO.PICK 'ER OUT JIMMY PAGE
That is truly an insane solo. Bach would be proud.
why is there no prog rock band that attempted to interpret this song at some point? Would have been amazing
Brilliant!
er, wow. Stellar dexterity, accuracy & speed
Excellent interpretation! Karl Richter is a great musician! 👌
I don't like this at all. The cadenza is uneven and he hits a lot of wrong notes. Worse than that, he doesn't phrase. He doesn't breathe I've between each new phrase. It's like Bach has written a sentence, and he just keeps going without taking a breath. It sounds mechanical. Also, he rushes certain areas, which breaks the phrase. I've never liked this recording.
Master of the universe
This is a modern day guitar solo but on a Harpsichord. Brilliant.
