Last week was certainly a "70's" week, where I tackled a 78 Chev van and this real cute 1976 Toyota Cruiser for the good folks at Pixel Bake House.

This 1978 G10 Chev could possibly be the coolest vehicle I've lettered to date... and that's really saying something! There's some pretty neat projects that roll my way and when Evan Marshall @Johnny Voodoos Barbers approached me to letter his van, I jumped at the chance. The brief was... 'Jeff just do what you do'. 😁 Thank you Evan for trusting me with your pride and joy, also a shout out to j...

Always love your fun script lettering! Great energy! From one Knucklehead rider to another! 😎👍
Is this one of your script sticks or what series brush is this? Huge fan of your work

Beautifull signwriting i m pakistani sign artist 1980 to2022

GREAT VIDEO WHEN MUTED , GREAT TALENT
NICE 👍
I'll just shut the audio off instead of trying to insult you!
What the hell are you listening to? Maybe you been sniffin' paint fumes too long!
Can i ask what is the paint code on this??
It was just colour matched, no paint code as such. Sorry Michael.
@@kiwikamjeff oh is there any chance you could ask your painter what is the paint code of the olive drab?...also jeff what size wheels are on your bike...19 inch or 20??..im building a j model at moment
This is enamel, can you practice with ink for indoors use?
Using ink will produce a completely different feel. Enamel has a lovely velvet consistency when thinned correctly.
@@kiwikamjeff thanks for your prompt reply, I'm just worried about the toxicity. I need to sort a well ventilated studio
You're welcome. X
You so good 👍
No, thank you.
Nice.
Trying to learn this art. Think I've invented some new curse words. But hey loving every minute of it. Thanks and good day.🇺🇸
The paint running out of control on brush ferrule is driving, yes driving o driving me out of my mind. Now if its not what I think I saw then lord I be on my way.
Meanwhile, with all the Covid issues, get some tutorial videos online so us that can't make international events can still learn.
My old boss always told me ‘keep the thin strokes thin and the fat strokes fat’ when doing script. This was 1979-83 when I was an apprentice. Love your work Jeff !
Delightfully soothing. A true craftsman.
beasto
Art and craft in perfect symmetry. Good soundtrack too.
Nice!
Jesus Christ that’s incredible
Thank you for appreciating it... but this is simply what signwriters do.
Jeff Marshall incredibly nonetheless
The music 😂 Love it
Music is sick haha
What kind of glue you use for the gold gilding? Thanks
I use 1Shot one hour gold size.
How do you expect a thumb's up if you aren't going to wheelie that thing.
Expecting a thumbs up for doing a wheelie would mean I'm a wanker... which I'm not!
Nah. Just means you can actually ride the thing.
very nice....i love painting
who's compny of colour
All original original paint ? BEAUTIFUL MACHINE
Sweet Brother, likes me some twist in da leaf man
Jeff your work is always at the top of my list. The Script Sticks I bought off you are starting to get more use each week & now that there semi broken in really nice to use.🤙🤙
Good on you Leigh... lots of practice over time really is the key. The Script Sticks are just lovely especially when broken in.
@@kiwikamjeff when will you be back on our soil so i can book your services for a workshop..
@@leighsaunders3278 I'm back now. Flick me a message via Facebook and we will sort a date that suits us both.
Music chased me away...
He's probably 'Antifa'?
Mate that is so cool...love those first coupla strokes on the "K"... I think the world needs to be saturated with your script lol..
Rebel Nomad lol... the world would become a boring place 😂 I'm quite partial to the K and d connection.
I'm stealin' the lines in the cross-bars idea mate. You knew it would happen.
i couldnt think of anyone better to be stolen from... have at it Mate.
G'day Jeff! This tour looks great mate! Sensational script logo...I'll be booking in for the Aussie leg if there is one?
Rebel Nomad Cheers Bud... Will give you a call when I return.
What is the color? Awesome.
Peacock blue... i think.
Are these the script sticks you made?
No, this video is fairly old but my Script Stticks are pretty much the same as the one in the video. pop on over to www.marshallartz.com.au/merch/marshall-script-sticks-brush-set to check them out.
Hello again, How do you chose a lettering style? Does it just come to you, or are you looking up styles from books, internet, etc? I love to letter, but for the most part, I can never find a FONT that utilizes all letters of the alphabet and how to connect them. Thanks for any input, Todd
Hey Todd, this question does not have a simple answer as it falls into the realms of signage design. ie: whats the clients business, location and feel, just to name a few things to consider when designing a sign or logo. 9 times out of 10 within a few minutes of talking with a client I've loosely designed something in my head... but of course that comes down to experience. Generally " i always" utilize script somewhere in my design work... just because i can and its my thing. Hope this helps.
Thanks Jeff. Yes this helps greatly. Being self taught, I had always wondered if I had the right approach. Keep up the great work and thanks for your reply, Todd
Jeff, What type of paper are you using as you practice? Amazing how your able to pull a line so smoothly without the paper absorbing the paint or tearing. Great work, Todd
Todd its a paper called Litho paper, real nice stuff to work with and cheap as chips! using enamel paint flows beautifully on it as opposed to acrylic which would make the paper crinkle due to water absorption. keep your paint thin though as the paper causes a fair amount of drag.
