A visit to Baratang Mangrove and limestone cave
Baratang Island is an island of the Andaman Islands. It belongs to the North and Middle Andaman administrative district, part of the Indian union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.The island lies 150 km (93 mi) north of Port Blair.
How to go there: Book a cab or group bus ride to Baratang. Start early in the morning. Private cab will cost approximately 4K . Once you reach Baratang island, you need to take jetty for 14/- each to cross over the canal . You can then book boats for 900/- per person which will take you to mangrove forest and limestone cave. Limestone cave is approx 1.2 km where boat will drop you and you will be back by same boat. It’s a day trip , and based on weather condition, you should take drinking water with you as you might not be able to get it there.
What to do there : Visiting mangrove forest, visiting limestone cave , Nature photography.
Avoid plastic items , they are not allowed.
