Lets go u posted another video like this
We're glad you enjoyed it! We listen to you guys :)
What is the badminton racquet that you're using here?
How to be more aggressive at the net and in mid court, without hitting the shuttlecock out the back. Please. 🙏🏿
At the net, it helps to be ready by having your racket up and ready to take the shot. At the net and towards the front, speed is key - so you want to take quick shots to force an error, instead of pulling back and executing a full swing. While powerful, a full swing takes more time, and you might not be able to take the shot while the shuttle is at its highest position.
Great tutorial, if I can suggest I think it will help if you breakdown each specific tips at each level (elbow up, left hand raised etc.)
We're taking your feedback on board, Miguel! We'll try to balance it out - as we're also mindful not to make it draggy. The most ideal way for stroke correction might be to find a coach like MTAS academy!
damn.
I'm at an intermediate level and struggling to break through to an advanced one 😂😂😂
You are not alone, @chanvnk! Its part and parcel of the learning process. We'd recommend practice, or training with a coach to help you progress effectively!
I play my easier games with low tension and tougher opponents with high tension. Keeps my shoulder in place
Bro pls review felet eighty8 next 🙌🏻
Hey! Thanks for the recommendation - we haven't had the opportunity to get our hands on one yet. We'll try!
Bro pls pls review felet eigty8 next🙏
Bro pls review felet eighty8
How would you compare it to the nanoflare nextage in terms of all those rating?
I'm having a really hard time choosing the right size for this shoe. When I use the Mizuno guide, it suggests going down 2 to 3 sizes. However, when I check the cm measurement in my other shoes, it indicates my regular size... hmm.. I like that mizuno is abit wider, as i aswell have wider feet.
hey, i have a wider feet too. and mizuno fits me really well. what works for me may not work for you. but i always use "cm" or "japan" size with Mizuno. it always, always work. hope you find the right size!
True
yep. :)))
Its fragile af. Handle with care.
Yeah. Mine broke really easily as well. Never had a racket that fragile. Hit my calf with it and that was enough to snap the frame... Like my fatty calf wtf.
oh no. :,( i'll be careful about it.
Im surprised you get over 300mm for balance point, thats like head heavy territory for me. Oh that run at the start did gave me abit of a jump scare haha
actually, i measure it with strings on and with grip on. but i try my best to keep it consistent. tbh, you can easily change the balance point of the racket by changing the way you tie your grip.
@MoreThanASwing ahh i see, probably because of my thicker grips, my measurement are always abit off.
@@iodineclip You are definitely right, it does affect measurements. But it is also a neat trick at times! If a racket feels too head heavy, adding an additional overgrip does help with balancing out the head-heaviness. We love to experiment and find out what works best for our playstyles!
For intermediate, I think it's either this or the Astrox Nextage. They're both really really good for the price.
I havent tried the astrox nextage. but i'll be keen to give it a try. :)

Hi Joel, another great video. I have been trying out rackets and bought the yonex nanoflare 1000z. I started playing with a club which plays with feathers which I used to before and found the I could not get the power out of my shots as I could before and also my arm stared hurting alot, near the bicep area. Then I played in another club where they were playing with plastics, and all my shots were great my smash came back, all my drops were perfect and drives too, also no pain This has really confused me, as I thought playing with feather should be easier. Don't know if you guys can shed some light on the matter? Would be much appreciated. Thanks Ajay
There's not enough data here for me to make an accurate assessment. but here's one hypothesis. The NF1000z has quite a small sweetspot. perhaps it took time for you to get used to it. and once you got used to it, your estimation got better. to test this theory. try staying with feather shuttlecock for a month.
@MoreThanASwing Thank you so much Joel, much appreciated, will try your suggestion and see how it goes.
@@soundzgood6775 You are most welcome!
Which racket are you using?
in this video, i was using the Mizuno JPX Reserve Edition. cool right?
Can you explain the “late backhand reverse cross court slice” , I can like hit it but not enough power to go over
wow. thats... a mouthful. watch out for our upcoming video. i will be covering dropshot soon. is that what you were referring to?
Wow best badminton tutorial on youtube, I really liked the intro, also can you make a video on singles and how to play better
interesting suggestion. yes, we will queue that. :)
in terms of durability and affordability, what shuttle would you recommend?
that depends on the region you are from and whats available to you actually. most shuttles come from the same few factories actually. so where are you from?
@@MoreThanASwingsorry for hijacking this thread a bit. I'm also a little curious. I'm from the Philippines (which is in the southeast asia). Would you have some recommendations for good shuttlecocks that offer a good balance between price and durability? In terms of skill level of playing group, our group consists of beginner - lower intermediate players.
An umpire told me coaches share your philosophy. Unfortunately, some parents think it is a waste of private lesson time to coach their children about court etiquette. Private lessons are expensive, so coaches should only focus on skills. As an umpire, he tells players they are losing points because the parents are making line calls during tournaments. That is one of the examples.
Culturally, we are only in the beginning stages of this shift. the shift to pay attention to the being more than the doing. Its a good start but a long way to go.
Respect 👌
:)
I think the racket and tension both matters I was using an 88d pro with 27 lbs tension and hit the sweet spot consistently, after quite a while I got a 100zz and used the same string and tension 27lbs and found having shoulder pain often after playing with it. must be because the 100zz has extra stiff shaft and already small sweet spot to begin with. the only upside is the supreme power in the smash shots to date no one has successfully returned a smash from this racket with this tension.
Yes Sir. tbh, everything plays a part. Racket, string model, strong tension, stringing method, humidity, shuttle, fitness condition, technique, etc.
Bg 65 24lbs seems good for nylon shuttles. However, I haven't gone above that yet and I was thinking I might want to try
i find it fascinating that people play with nylon shuttles. It is very uncommon in my country. :)
@@MoreThanASwing very common here in india to use yonex nylon shuttle
U have such a comprehensive perspective. As u said, the technique and timing to hit the sweet spot are the keys while the power of player is just a small part of generating power
yep it is. i think i want to make a part two soon.
Good explanation and showing it to give us people who only understand by testing ourselves a chance to test it out!.
i hope the video helps in taking your game to the next level.
Dope vidoe Joel!

@MoreThanASwing India!
@@sumanthachark Nice! How is the scene over there? We'd love to check out the badminton scene in India
@@MoreThanASwing up and coming!!
I recently switched from 25. 26. To 27-28 feels much easier to hit clear But i noticed its hardder to time drop shots . Also, I found that one day I was in perfect control and my level(intermediate) increased but other days I struggled with ruming and wasn’t hitting the sweet spot I wonder what the issue is
having a higher tension means the margin of error decreases. the game is also less forgiving because hitting just slightly off centre will have a greater impact. being human, we all have good days and bad days. so on bad days, we may not be in the best condition because of stress, diet, or fatigue. and because of that, it affects our judgement, timing and execution. on days like that, we may not hit the sweet spot as consistently.
I love this video a lot, even just a simple stroke as the lift has a lot of techniques and strategies behind it that could potentially upgrade your game on court. Especially the last part, I’d had trouble deciding if my opponent will do a netshot or lift so I usually hit a bad shot after or sometimes I position myself farther from the net but then I leave a huge space in front of me so hitting a netshot is more difficult. I advise practicing this, it’s a good skill to have in singles and doubles. I’m still practicing it as well.
I do specifically train my back movement for this. I suggest covering in front more. hear me out. you played a tough rally, you've set up the shot for the kill by giving a got net shot. but because you are covering the back more, you dont have enough time to go for the net kill and the rally lengthens. what a waste. so, i train players to move back fast, so that they are confident of staying nearer to the front.
just found this channel ah superrr underrataed, great explanation on things and straight to the point i love that.
Thank you very much for your compliment. Where are you from? and what would you like to see next?
👏👏
:)
Hi ! So what do you thinks will be the closer to the Original NF 800 3U ? Maybe the NF 1000z 4U right ? The control and the speed and the power would be better with one ? Or maybe the NF 800 pro 3U ? Or 4U ? I really like the original NF 800 3U…
ooo... the NF800 first gen is pretty unique in terms of how it feels in your hand. I would say its inbetween the NF1000ZZ and the new NF800 pro. but still, i dont think that's an accurate description. if you really like it, stick to it! dont need to be a victim of consumerism. haha.
@@MoreThanASwing haha thank you But about the point of view, the NF 1000Z 4U is better in drive, speed, power and control than the 800 pro right ?
What racket are you using ?!😊
