Fordyce Trail - Driveline Hill
The original plan for today’s adventure was a run up to the top of Signal Peak. Not even half way up we ran into large sections of ice which forced us to take Plan B - Fordyce Trail to Driveline Hill. My jeep is not equipped to run this entire trail, and even though I originally intended to take the Driveline bypass, I got Jeep’d into giving it a go. Glad I did because with some good spotting, I managed to clear this obstacle.

Poker Flat to Sierra Buttes Lookout - Starting in LaPorte
มุมมอง 1.3K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
In this Jeeping Journeys adventure our crew decided to run the Poker Flat trail backwards starting in LaPorte, CA. From there we worked our way down to Poker Flat and onto Downieville, CA. The second half of the journey started In Sierra City where we climbed up to 8500 feet to the Sierra Buttes Lookout. After taking in the view, we hiked down and continued onward to find a spot to camp for the...

Less than a year ago I tried taking my RZR Trail 1000 on 27s on the Rubicon Trail, needless to say, I didn't get far. Since then, I made the switch to off roading in a jeep. I bought a 2020 2D Rubicon and armored it up for just this type of event. On this Jeeping Journey, Bill in his newly built Toyota Tacoma on 42s joins me, Tom and Garrett along with a solo adventurer, Dustin from Texas, who ...

New adventure with a friend that shares the same affinity for Jeeping and Fishing. Lucas leads me from Nevada City (NCal) to an area known as Canyon Creek. Although most of the route wasn’t as technical as years past due to some grading, our campsite was only accessible by 4WD. We had a great time camping for just one night and then headed home the next morning. We were able to take a detour on...
Five MOAB Trails in 4 Days
มุมมอง 4796 หลายเดือนก่อน
The most epic off roading I've done thus far was right here in Moab, UT. After spending four days in the San Rafael Swell, we headed to Moab to where there are trails for everyone from experts to novice and running them all could easily take weeks. Tom @t.o.f.t.s. Garrett and myself settled on five of the most popular trails, Fins and Things, Hells Revenge, Steel Bender, Poison Spider and Top o...

I By midday we had worked our way down to goblin Valley State Park, where we set up camp for multiple nights. This video is presented in two parts. Part two is named Behind the Reef. Nice video, still a bucket list trail for me to do!
@@flyfisher530 Little more road work than we had planned for :-) But Sierra Buttes Lookout is definitely worth checking off that bucket list. Oh, because of your tag name, thought I’d share a story with you. I grew up in Montana and my parents had a cabin on Seeley Lake. Our direct neighbor was Norman Maclean. My Mother was a legal secretary and typed up all his notes for The River Runs Through It. Thought you’d appreciate that… cheers
@@pizzazzfilms2624Great story! That movie is why I started flyfishing!
Cool vid. Love the dummy who hit the tree 🙂
In my defense, who puts a tree in the middle of the trail?😅😅
awesome video haha! hilarious
Jimmy, your comfort level and throttle contol improved 3x over the 3 days. Well done.
Crash, boom, bang.😅😅
Great video! I can appreciate how butt clenching this trail is, especially in a 2 door rolling on 35"s. After your video, I've come to the conclusion that I'll be going at least 37's...😅
Thanks… I’m considering that myself, but am still undecided. It had rained the night before so trail was slick; that made it a little harder for me. But very doable with good spotters

I'm not a California fan either as you said but we do got some badass places ;)
@@TheAngryCamper Indeed we do! California is an unbelievably beautiful state from border to border. Sad thing is because of that fact we are competing with 33 million other people to experience its wonders. On top of that, it is flat out too expensive to live here. At least when I escape and live someplace else, I can always come back and enjoy the splendors other people will be paying for:-)
Awesome trip. Did the Gladiator driver removed their taillights before or..ripped off?
@@getouttherandplay He knew to remove them before we hit the trail. I can tell you enjoyed the trail; just an incredible experience. I used to mtn bike around Spider Lake back in the 90’s. Love it! Hope to see you on one of the trails someday. Cheers
@pizzazzfilms2624 right on. I'm going to remove my lights going forward. I busted one light but I was able to JB weld it back together. That's some serious mountain biking. I paddle board the entire lake....it was epic, and I'm sure we will cross paths on the trail someday.
Any video with Marco is a great video. Thanks!
Amazing! Thank you!
Looks like a good time!
Indeed! Trail is nonstop ruthless
@@pizzazzfilms2624 that's it right there, the 'con never lets up, it's one thing after another! thx for the vid
Hey...nobody died, therefore successful trip.😆😆. Great trip gang!!!
Well done Jim, some fantastic footage of day 1, looking forward to seeing more.
@@ernie1031 part to loading now… be ready in about an hour
Wonderful video of day 1!!!!!
Bill making everything look easy on 42s..He didn't like that off camber stuff though.😅
too good not to share! such a great trip
Great job Jimmy!!
Thank you. Brings back loads of memories for me
Glad you enjoyed it
Yoooo! I know that place! :) fantastic footage. Big kudos to the pilot and editor.
Nice Jimmy! I think we all learned and improved a lot that trip
True… I know I did
So cool bro. Damn, the views were truly spectacular and the tracks wicked. On top of the world was really that, awesome!
Hiker Trailer!!!
How waterproof is the Hiker Trailer if the water gets above the bottom of the trailer?
100% agree. That was my first time but I’ll be going back.
If you have never been to Moab you got to go....
Tell Chef to add a YJ Add a Leaf to his trailer springs. It will help out a bunch!
Thx
It was great meeting and wheeling with you all. I hope we can meet up again someday. Let me know if you ever come back to Utah or visit Colorado!
Always a joy meeting good people on the trails. I love Colorado so hopefully we can hit a trail or two in the future
Nice job Jimmy
Great 😊
Thanks
ahhhh, Deja Vu. 😆😆🤦
Fun!!! Thank you for the video Jim
If it were easy everyone would do it. I really appreciate all the trouble you, OVRLNDX and others go through to create such fun entertainment to view
Thanks Buddy! Believe me, I appreciate everything you’ve done to help me learn the art of off roading.
Thank you my friend
That’s a nice jeep thank for the walk around 392
Indeed! Cherry all the way around
Jawbone area?
This was actually just off HWY 62 not far from Palm Springs
Four years ago, before I moved out of Calif I made my last trip there (one of at least a dozen). It was another nice hike up the Butte (about 45 minutes up the West Ridge). I left a bunch of camping gear-chairs, cots, sleeping pads and a bunch of food and plastic storage tubs.
Very considerate of you. One of the things i enjoy is how most people pay it forward…. Thx
I have found more gold on this crack.Thank you for sharing.
Another great Journey in the books Jimmymac.. 🚙. Can't wait for our next Adventure🤘
I am from Alabama
Fun day. Good people
Did you re-gear?
Absolutely. Breaking in the gears this weekend
Yes, I guess I forgot to mention that. I was wavering between 4:88 and 5:13. Given how close we are to the Mountains and that I pull a Patriot Trailer I ultimately went with 5:13. I now have 8th gear again. I was running 35s in the original 4:10s. This was mostly OK, but rarely saw 8th gear while cruising down the freeway. My fuel mileage so far is 12 to 15 City/Freeway. About the same as I had on 35s and 4:10 gears.
Yeah, I was wondering because you didn't mention that in the video. With 38" tires 5:13 good choice.
Very nice build, i love the hood struts, i love mine. The fridge is a game changer for certain, love ours and highly recommend it. You've got yours in a very handy set up. Hahahaha yes, every jeeps needs a tailgate table.
Great production quality! Interesting break-down too! Even gives a JKU guy some ideas. I like the term Mall-Crawl-Lander, ha ha.
Thanks for the comment. Big Sky Website Development eh… I’m from Helena originally. My license plate on my jeep says “BIGGSKY”
@@pizzazzfilms2624 Ha! What a coincidence. I'm from MT too, MSU grad. Hold on to that plate, it's a keeper!
Nice video...
what a great video!
Thanks. I thought the video turned out good as well. Useful content for those thinking about upgrading
Griz paw hat, go Griz!
1st comment. 😃 Mark it down.
you made it look easy haha!
i wonder what it would look like in late November with some snow
Yeah, some of my best drone shots I have to admit. There was still some snow, you can see it in the drone video. I’m sure it would look epic in the winter
super cool video! love the drone shots
