You can also put them in the freezer. When it is solid, you just break it up and throw out.

I have tried that and just washing will not take that small ring of wax off at the top?? Now, how did you remove that??

dirty/ugly wax like that can be used for homemade firestarters, dip cotton balls or cotton pads in it and let them cool down

I freeze the finished candle and it pops right off. Freeze for about an hour or so

Good idea however long process. When it's thats low I just burn it to oil then pour it outside. I immediately pour hot water with soap and wash it. Every wax and fat gone! I sometimes throw them in the dishwasher after i hand-wash them. Quick and easy

Good for you Venus! Too many actors have no idea they can take stands. I was once writing for a network sitcom where the lead actress became uncomfortable with how her character was suddenly so "sleazy" as she put it, in the scene she was rehearsing. She told our show runner, who was truly known as a predator, she wouldn't do it. Much to my surprise, he had the scene re-written so she wasn't so "sleazy." Stand your ground.

An old hairdryer works just fine

Ibe done this and it does work u need boiling water. The fastest way is to boil water in a pot and set the jar inside of it. In 10 mins the wax melts and u can pour it out in the trash. Use ur windex or whatever to spot clean the glass

Excellent insights Venus! Totally agree that film festivals are extremely valuable. The learning is great but the relationships are priceless. I met the person who heads up a talent agency - who now represents me - at a networking event at a film festival. Actors should always go to broaden their skillset around filmmaking, but primarily to build relationships with other actors, directors, producers, and agents.

Thank you for this. I really need to attend more of these but have not gotten much out of the secular film festivals that I've been to so I've not been super excited about going to any, as a result. I also struggle with networking because I'm so awkward and weird around new people so that's been another hindrance. If budget only allows for a couple (or even just one) a year, which would you recommend?

Or pop the candle in the freezer for about 10 min and the wax will pop out and baby wipes clean the soot really good

I could not believe the black on the top of your candle jar. That comes from not trimming wicks properly and all of that is going into the air in your home. I am absolutely not trying to be ugly. It’s just a fact I also did the same with the boiling water, but I have no black on the top, if I did, I would clean that off first because that is getting in the wax that you want to keep to use in your wax warmer. I let mine sit until the water is barely warm. Then I sit in the refrigerator to finish cooling which takes just a short while and then I get that block of wax out and cut it up to use later. I really enjoy the Woodwick candles, medium size and they make wonderful glasses for drinking. Another method is put in the freezer and let the wax get hard and then just stick a knife and crack it and it comes right out. Thanks so much for the tip.
