Great video, can I ask what you feed your cowfisha and how often, just wanted the most up to date information as you have had it a while?

I recently bought a cowfish, I named him Sweet Lips. Im new to the saltwater fish world. Ive been told to feed fish everyother day but i have noticed the cowfish is always hungry. Any feeding suggestions?

First, buy a poly filter. This filter is a medical grade filter for metals. It will change colors if you have any metals in your system. And also filter them out. Poly Filter Poly-Bio-Marine for Fish Aquarium. You also need to send in a ICP test to make sure.

If you ever used phosguard from seachem or similar aluminum oxide media to control phosphates, that could have been the aluminum leaching culprit. Seachem claims their product does not leach aluminum but Randy Holmes Farley (from reef2reef) claims to have evidence that it does leach aluminum.

I have the same problem with aluminum, I use aquaforest salt a while ago I used kalkwaser but the problem is not the kalk, I already changed a briwel block and it is not the problem either, I don't know where to look anymore

Guy, that tank is way too small for that cow fish. It's really cruel to keep him in there for your entertainment. They get really big . Find him a better home. Don't be a dick

I use Fritz and it’s great. I had a pump in my sump I forgot about it went bad and leaked iron and copper and other heavy metals. Keep doing my water changes and through Metasorb in my filter sock and it all got pulled in 5 days and left the metasorb in for 7 days. Highly recommend

I had a cowfish that lived for about 7 years. They are like puppies of the sea. I cried like a baby when he died. They are very smart, more interested in people outside the tank than what's going on inside. Mine started doing trick all on it's own to get my attention like spitting water out of the tank and hitting me in the face in the mornings to let me know it was feeding time. I fed him small amounts twice a day. At dinner time he would make splashing noises and spin like a top and then stop and look at me to see if I noticed him. I read all these things about how they can nuke the tank when they die, but that never happened to me. I think that's something that only happens if they are very stressed like being attacked. Be careful if they get popeye. Mine got that and I medicated the heck out of the tank. He got better but then stopped eating. Though he was a goner until I touch his mouth with some food. He sucked it right in. I then realized he was not on a hunger strike, it was his vision, he couldn't see the food. The popeye that healed had damaged his sight. Good luck with your little friend. I hope he brings you many years of happiness.

That is actually very amazing! I have a small cabbage coral that looks just like that. I was about to give up on it... I think I will try this.

Is this fish still alive? I want a box fish really bad but I can't find one video that shows an adult in captivity on TH-cam so I'm thinking it might not be a good idea

What's up G. Mostly if your pH and alkalinity is low. In a few weeks the monti will die. Also add some amino acids to the water so they can color up and have healthy tissue. And have your salt level at 1.025

What are you going to do with the puffer and cow fish when they get so big ?? People buy the cow fish because they are cute but they grow so quickly. And eventually the puffer will need its teeth filed down unless you provide coral to chew on. Are you going to buy a huge tank?? By the way i really like you're rock work
