What is a Montessori Approach to Dementia Care?
The Montessori Method is about creating and presenting activities based on models of learning and rehabilitation. The goal of the Montessori Method is to develop people who are as independent as possible, able to make choices, and who are treated with respect and dignity. Cameron J. Camp, PhD was the first person to adapt and apply the Montessori Method to people living with dementia. He is the Director of Research & Development with the Center for Applied Research in Dementia.
